Seaglass Inn & Spa

Cape Cod, New England

The hotel

Taking its inspiration from the casual-cool of Provincetown, this seaside inn’s about as laid-back as you can get. There’s nothing to do but relax – and the only decision you’ll need to make is where to do that. Perhaps stretching out ‘Cape Cod-style’ on one of the lawn’s Adirondack chairs? Maybe on one of the sun loungers fringing the outdoor pool? Or perhaps in the spa, as you unwind with its signature Seaglass Spa Hot Stone Massage. And, to make your Cape Cod stay even more relaxing, the family at Seaglass Inn & Spa have included complimentary WiFi, parking, and Continental breakfasts. If you do want to escape the simple seclusion of this four acre seaside escape, you can stroll to vibrant and artsy P-Town in just twenty minutes – or grab bikes and deli treats at the nearby store and go beach-hopping.

Traditional resort motel, on a hilltop at the West End of Provincetown. Large, spacious rooms with a sitting area out front. Two comfortable queen beds with four plump pillows each provide a good night’s rest after busy days of activity. Modern bathroom clad in white subway tiles with pedestal sink, premium toilet, a stall shower and spa shower head. Double closet with sliding doors. Could use a few more hangers. There’s also a large armoire with a Keurig, small fridge and space for storage. There’s a freestanding “fireplace” which seems to function as a gas or electric heater, though we did not use it. It almost seems the space would be better used for a sofa. There are 2 rattan chairs on either side of the fireplace which are fine for putting on socks and shoes but not good for much more than that. There’s a built in motel air conditioning unit which worked perfectly and was quiet. Windows are covered with floor to ceiling drapes: both room darkening as well as lighter, light filtering ones. The grounds are truly lovely and well maintained. Beautiful lawns, hydrangeas and other perennials punctuated the grounds, where the multiple two-story wings encircle the pool area. The pool is from 4 to 8 feet and is filled with heated salt water. It’s quite comfortable, surrounded by nice lounge chairs, table and chair groupings and plentiful towels. The pool closes at 8pm. The breakfast is plentiful, delicious and staff constantly attends and refills it. The coffee, yogurt, baked goods and juice are all top quality and worthy of a boutique corner bakery. Staff is knowledgeable and efficient, answering all questions with alacrity, providing information helpful to newcomers as well as old hands. A hotel shuttle is available on the hour and half hour and just has to be scheduled with the front desk. There’s also a fire pit which staff will light on request. The fact that the capacious resort is located on a hilltop means that it is very bright and sunny, although there are large ornamental trees here and there for shade. There’s a spacious, open feeling to the resort which is a rare quality in Provincetown. Read less

Pat, Casey, and the entire team at this hotel are top notch! Although the hotel is a bit dated, the service they provide makes up for all of it. We are a family of 4 and stay here for a few nights prior to checking into our rental in Eastham each August. We love the Seaglass more and more each year! The one issue early on (very buggy around the pool) has been cleared up and spending time around their beautiful pool is just wonderful. The rooms are always clean, a/c is strong and beds are comfortable. They offer a nice little breakfast, my only request would be to include a fresh fruit platter. Oranges and/or bananas are readily available, but some sliced strawberries, cantaloupe, blueberries, etc, would be a welcome addition. See you next summer Seaglass:) Read less

Our family had the best week in Provincetown at the Seaglass Inn and Spa. We are so sad to be leaving. This place is PHENOMENAL! The staff is super friendly and helpful and many people who stay here return year after year which helps make the place have a small, quaint feeling. The complementary breakfast is fresh, healthy and expansive and there are snacks (popcorn, watermelon, cake, cookies, ice water, coffee/tea) offered at many times throughout the day. The rooms are clean and each room location offers a different 'perk' (a view of the pool, close to your car, view of sunset, etc.). The grounds are beautifully kept which makes waking around, reading a book or taking photos a true pleasure. The pool is warm and skimmed daily - they do a great job of maintaining it. There is plenty of seating around the pool so you can hang out in that area as well. If you enjoy massages, be sure to book one with Peter and book it early. He is so kind, knowledgeable, and talented and will really take his time with you and ensure you are getting the most of your treatment. Finally, you can't beat the location. You can walk or bike anywhere in town. Commercial street (downtown) is about a 15 minute walk or you can take the complementary shuttle from the Inn both ways) and get there in less than 5 minutes. You can also walk to Herring Cove beach (20 minutes) or explore the breakwater and marshes (5-10 minute walk) and enjoy the beautiful views at sunset. This place is seriously a gem and we can't wait to return again next year! Read less
