Hotel Zephyr

Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco

The hotel

Hotel Zephyr offers 355 guests rooms in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf and this supremely comfortable hotel is within walking distance of many San Francisco attractions, including Chinatown, PIER 39, Cable Cars and Ghirardelli Square. There's also a fitness centre to keep the body beautiful, open 24-hours so there's no excuse not to at least check out the facility. There is no restaurant on-site, but worry not, there are plenty in the immediate vicinity. Stroll along the wharf, sipping clam chowder from a bread bowl or perhaps head to Chinatown for some delicious Dim Sum. Like the dining options, the shopping opportunities are endless with something for everyone of every age. Infamous Alcatraz Island is well-worth a visit as is Ghirardelli Square with its famous chocolate factory. When you're done sightseeing for the day, your hotel room offers a welcome oasis from a city that seemingly never sleeps!

The room was quite tired, and had an awful smell to it when we first arrived. Each time we went in we had to fiddle about with the lights as they didn’t seem to come on straight away. However, the room was clean. Another gripe is that the walls are paper thin! We could hear children playing next door one morning, the door to various rooms opening and on the last night a room nearby had some music on until the early hours of the morning. I quite like country music but when you’re trying to sleep at 0300am, it can get quite annoying. Plus you could smell the smoke through the thin, old Patio doors. We loved our time in San Francisco, and didn’t dislike the hotel; we just had a few issues which considering the price we paid for our stay, were quite disappointing. Read less

I booked a King Bed room and was guaranteed. While I arrived at the hotel and the rude hotel staff gave me the room key and I found that it is a double bed room after I go up. Then I go down to the front desk and the rude staff replied me that the King Bed rooms are out of order. I can only choose to cancel the booking and sleep with the homeless… Read more

One of our favorite spots was the back courtyard with its multiple fire pits (perfect for those chilly SF nights) and games for the whole family. We will definitely be back! Read less

Fun place in an ideal location. Colorful decor and fun game room, courtyard, fire pits, and happy hour. Concierge was very helpful with activities and restaurant recommendations and discounts. Room was spacious and had fridge, microwave and coffee maker that worked well. Would definitely stay here again.
