Hotel Zephyr

Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco

The hotel

Hotel Zephyr offers 355 guests rooms in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf and this supremely comfortable hotel is within walking distance of many San Francisco attractions, including Chinatown, PIER 39, Cable Cars and Ghirardelli Square. There's also a fitness centre to keep the body beautiful, open 24-hours so there's no excuse not to at least check out the facility. There is no restaurant on-site, but worry not, there are plenty in the immediate vicinity. Stroll along the wharf, sipping clam chowder from a bread bowl or perhaps head to Chinatown for some delicious Dim Sum. Like the dining options, the shopping opportunities are endless with something for everyone of every age. Infamous Alcatraz Island is well-worth a visit as is Ghirardelli Square with its famous chocolate factory. When you're done sightseeing for the day, your hotel room offers a welcome oasis from a city that seemingly never sleeps!

Very expensive, rooms very small and smell musty! Paper thin walls!! Parking ridiculously expensive! Could not understand check in staff!! Language!! Not worth what you pay! They do have an one thing going for them, games room!

We were recommended this hotel on location and were not disappointed. Loved the room and the quirkiness of the hotel. Beds very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great base to explore with pier 39 opposite and easy access to transport. Would recommend.

Hotel Zephyr is a very nice place to stay at and family friendly with a games room attached to the hotel. The room was maintained well and clean when we arrived, however slightly small in size. The bathroom consists of a shower which is situated over a bath and is difficult to fit a tall person under the shower head. There is an in room refrigerator and free tea/coffee machine located in the room. The hotel itself is located about one block away from Fisherman's Wharf and most things you can easily walk to. It is also close to one of the cable car stops and has the beginning of the "Big Bus Tour" stop in the next street over which is an activity I'd highly recommend to see the sights of San Fran whilst you are visiting. Overall I'd recommend staying in this hotel due to its practicality and location to most attractions including the Wharf and also the Alcatraz tour departure point. Read less

Check in as good and reception looked ok. Location is sketchy! Like a trashy beach side town, luckily this was our last night following a seven night trip throughout LA. Our room was smelly almost like there had been animals in there, shoddy maintenance and had a dirty bath, filthy in fact! Although we were upgraded to a full balcony sea view… Read more

Our room was smelly almost like there had been animals in there, shoddy maintenance and had a dirty bath, filthy in fact! Although we were upgraded to a full balcony sea view I was still not happy. Complaining would have done nothing, I just did not want to stay at this hotel and was appalled at how much I had paid for it! It is not a four star hotel! Far from it actually. I was also extremely disappointed to see that the I could get the parking cost a lot cheaper by booking via parking panda! Stop ripping your customers off Zephyr! Read less

When we arrived at this hotel it looked great from the outside. When we walked inside it was really unexpected. Some really interesting ideas used for the decoration. Like street signs bent and fixed to pipes to make seats, big containers used on the outer walls. At check in there was a mix up with our room so we couldn’t have the original room we booked looking direct at Alcatraz. The receptionist told us they needed a accidental deposit and resort fee. We used our card but while we was in Hawaii the previous hotel took a large amount off there and it took over 10 days to get the money back on there. So our payment option failed using our card. The receptionist then went to speak to the manager, explained our situation and it was sorted. Thank you for that. The rooms are spacious, clean, and a coffee machine in the room. Hotel is walking distance to everything on fisherman’s wharf. All in all a nice stay for us. Read less
