Omni San Francisco Hotel

San Francisco, USA

The hotel

There's a friendly boutique atmosphere at the Omni, thanks in part to its Florentine Renaissance architecture. Built as a bank in 1926, the hotel is quite grand, with Italian marble and Austrian crystal chandeliers in the lobby. A great way to get your bearings in the city is to join the free Saturday morning walking tour — find out about its history, architecture, legends and more. Fortunately, you don’t need a guide to find your way to Bob’s Steak & Chop House, which serves some of the best steaks in town. Bob’s Bar is also popular; check out the monthly cocktail special, made using local ingredients.

Do not stay here if you like to be an adult!! I had a popular weed delivery company deliver to my hotel room, moments later I received a call to the room from the front desk clerk advising us that he just noticed the delivery and wanted to reiterate that there is no smoking in the hotel room (after I had already been there two nights), as if I missed it in his 45 min monologue at check in.. I felt like I was back in high school. This guy really overstepped his boundaries and put his nose where it shouldn’t be. Ruined my entire stay. Do not recommend, at this price you should be able to have privacy and not being supervised 24/7 Read less

We stayed here mid-March, as "Repeat Guests", but - as the scary Virus threatened - had to cut short our visit to SF, to avoid the imminent "Travel Ban". Overall, "Omni San Francisco" looked after us pretty well. We were more than a bit concerned and disappointed to note the absence of "Hand Sanitizing Facilities" for the duration of our stay (a facility to which we had become accustomed in our previous few days in San Diego) + the fact that Door-Staff didn't always wear Gloves + the very few signs of active, protective cleaning in the Hotel's public areas. Our Room was comfortable - as before, any interaction with Housekeeping Staff was difficult, for language reasons, but it's fair to say they did a reasonable job servicing our Room. As experienced Travellers, we're very aware that People make a BIG difference in any Hotel. Bernard on Front-Desk was helpful, attentive & effective from our arrival, David (Front-Desk Head) was, again, hugely impressive and reassuringly reliable, and Alex (who checked us out) was notably courteous and patient, as we worried about managing our "escape". We must, also, say a special "Thank-you" to Juan, who organized a Car for us to leave the Hotel at 5.15 a.m. on a stressful Sunday March 15th. The Hotel was responsive to our need to depart a day early, and we appreciate the sensitive way they handled this. Now at home in Ireland, we're saddened to read that "Omni San Francisco" has had to temporarily close, recognizing the threatening times we live in. We do hope to come back again, and we sincerely wish James Lim and his colleagues all the very best, now, and in the future.... Read less

We stayed four nights in this elegant, classic hotel in the older part of Santiago. The staff was so very accommodating and extended their knowledge of the city to help us decide where to walk, when to walk, where to go. We stayed here during the constitutional protests and international women's day. What gentle , thoughtful people the Santoagians are. In the midst of protests and marches, many people were there to offer help and information to navigate the people's right to protest and yet take steps to help visitors feel comfortable and get to where we wanted to be. The older city is magnificent with so many historic edifices and so very close to Plaza San Francisco. The staff was very courteous and also very up front regarding the state of demonstrations and how we could safely get around town to view all the great history. The breakfast buffet was quite good and had a great variety of offerings. We enjoyed having a drung at the bar and listening to music. As noted, we were there during the women's march and , in fact, were scheduled to fly out that evening. The march went directly in front of our hotel. The staff had set up a secondary exit rite in the back of the hotel to get us without incident to the airport. They handled all this with little to no anxiety which was immensely helpfully to us. We applaud the efforts of the entire staff of the hotel for their calm demeaner. This says volumes about the service you will receive. Read less

The Omni San Francisco was the perfect hotel for our extended weekend visit in San Francisco to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff was absolutely amazing. Mark at the concierge's desk was awesome. I called him prior to my stay and he arranged our excursions in advance, and once we arrived Mark was very helpful with restaurant recommendations. This hotel is within walking distance to the majority of the tourist attractions in downtown San Francisco, and the streetcar stop is right in front of the hotel. We were able to walk to Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Union Square, and more. The rooms were good, bedding very comfortable, and absolutely the best pillows I have slept on in a hotel. It was pretty cool that during our stay at this hotel, filming of the upcoming Matrix 4 with Keanu Reeves was taking place right in front and on the side of the hotel. I totally recommend this hotel, you will not be disappointed; great staff, great location. By the way on our anniversary they suprised us with room service of chocolate covered strawberries, and other sweet treats. Don't delay book this hotel today, you will be glad you did. Read less

What a great place to stay in San Francisco. The hotel was fantastic, the staff was wonderful, the concierge was a pleasure to work with. The location was perfect for the business I was there on. Getting there early I was able to do a tour of the city and really enjoyed the day, thank you to the concierge’s for his suggestions!
