Omni San Francisco Hotel

San Francisco, USA

Virgin rating

The hotel

There's a friendly boutique atmosphere at the Omni, thanks in part to its Florentine Renaissance architecture. Built as a bank in 1926, the hotel is quite grand, with Italian marble and Austrian crystal chandeliers in the lobby. A great way to get your bearings in the city is to join the free Saturday morning walking tour — find out about its history, architecture, legends and more. Fortunately, you don’t need a guide to find your way to Bob’s Steak & Chop House, which serves some of the best steaks in town. Bob’s Bar is also popular; check out the monthly cocktail special, made using local ingredients.

Quiet hotel and prime location! Check in was a breeze and you are given complimentary water bottles which was a plus. The rooms themselves are updated with still the old charm. Very comfortable beds, bathroom was well designed, and the room is overall spacious. Perfect stay in SF!

This hotel ticks most of the boxes for a city centre business hotel. The location is good, rooms are of a good size and has all of the amenities you might expect. Positives were the welcome from the door man, the helpful staff and the reasonable gym that benefited from two peloton bikes. Negatives were that the rooms on the 17 floor have… Read more

Negatives were that the rooms on the 17 floor have small windows and the whole place felt a little dark. Overall a good choice particularly if you like peloton bikes Read less

This is a nicely situated hotel. Quiet, large rooms, pleasant lobby. They need to get a lobby computer and printer. It is a huge inconvenience not to have this. Check in is at 3 pm. If you arrive earlier, you can check in for $50 'early check in fee". Come on, we're spending enough money here. Or, be up front with this fee before you book a… Read more

Wonderful property, led by outstanding staff and service. We stayed several nights in November as a family. The location is central to everything, in a safe and quiet part of the city. Our room and all facilities were very good and as expected. But the hotel's staff made it a "five star" stay. Everyone we encountered was very professional, and really tried their hardest to help in every way possible with anything we needed or any question we had. And the holiday decorations and music made it all seem very special and comfortable. Thank you! Read less

We stayed for two nights to celebrate my birthday. This is a great hotel in a great location. On our arrival Jollene at the front desk upgraded us and provided us with free Prosecco. As we walked out for dinner, Darryl the doorman serenaded my with “Happy Birthday” (he has a very good voice). At the bar, Donna comped me with a free beer. … Read more

It would be easy to get used to this place, and we hope to return next year. Read less
