We actually come to this hotel twice a year one trip with our friends and one trip with our children. We have been doing this for at least 7 years now, I even found out I was pregnant with my youngest daughter while we were staying on the property in July 2014. I absolutely just love this place!!! If I had the money I'd buy one of the Villas, if I could. When you get there there's no need to go anywhere else. The staff has always been amazing!!! My home away from home!!! Read less

I am having a really hard time understanding how people are giving this place a good review. It has a few things going for it, but a lot of things going against it. The good: 1. Location is good. I timed the walk to the beach and it was right around 5 minutes. It is walking distance to quite a few restaurants, a CVS, and the waterpark (which we did not go to). 2. The beds are comfortable with updated bedding. No sign of any critters in the beds (and I checked pretty thoroughly). 3. Check-in staff was nice. 4. Suites are available for larger families. 5. If you get a room on the harbor you can see some cool boats and birds. 6. The lobby area is not terrible. 7. There is a putt putt course in the first floor corridor. We did not play, but it could be a good rainy day time filler. It's very basic, though. 8. There is an onsite restaurant, bar, and gift shop. 9. The closets had a decent amount of hangers. 10. The pool is well maintained, if small. The bad: 1. The place needs a complete overhaul! We had 3 rooms on the first floor and they were all falling apart. --The carpet and upholstered furniture all needs replaced because it is way past its prime and filthy. The carpet is loose, which can be a safety hazard! --The baseboards are rotting --The wood furniture is in disrepair and needs replaced. --One of the mini-fridges had a giant gap in the seal --The doors are old and need replaced. Paint can only hide so much. 2. It is not very clean. --I had to ask to have housekeeping come back and vacuum again after we checked in because the floors had obvious misc items and hair that should have been caught by the vacuum. --There are stains all over the upholstered furniture. I had to cover 2 chair seats with towels for the duration of our trip because they were so nasty. --The dishes in the cabinets were almost all dirty. --The TV channel list had goop of some sort caked on the back of it. --The exterior could use a good power washing. --The stairwells and elevator need scrubbed down. --There is mold and mildew buildup in the tub areas (in all 3 of our rooms). Please refer to my photos! --There was literally blood caked on the door jamb on the outside of one of our rooms! 3. Standard rooms do not have black out curtains. There is a valance at the top of the window and wooden blinds covering the windows. While they do provide privacy, they let in tons of light from the corridor! There is no way to further darken the room since the corridor is lit all night long. My body was very confused by this, as it felt like I was napping during the day, not sleeping in the middle of the night. The bedroom in the suite we had did have curtains for the sliding glass doors. 4. The "kitchenette" area and even the large kitchen of the suit were barely stocked at all with dishes, etc. Don't count on cooking anything beyond basic with what is provided. *I cannot comment on daily housekeeping, as it was not available due to the pandemic. I travel a fair amount, and my husband travels approximately 30 times per year for work. We have stayed at hotels all over the country (and some internationally), and they have run the gamut from budget to luxury. We are not hotel snobs and are usually happy as long as the place is clean and reasonably well maintained. We have realistic expectations and are not demanding. That being said, this place was a huge let down. The reviews just don't add up and I'm skeptical that they are all genuine customers. My husband stays almost exclusively at Holiday Inn properties when traveling for work and he commented that he can't understand how IHG is allowing this hotel to operate under the Holiday Inn name. We used rewards points for two of our rooms, or I probably would have left after getting a look at the place. It is not worth the money. Read less

I had concerns when booking. It turned out to be a very nice hotel. I thought the walk in closet was a bonus. The neighbors were loud, but we had so much fun at the beach, Busch Gardens and aquarium we were asleep withou much worry. Easy to walk to restaurants and stores. I wish we had brought a wagon, or the hotel could offer rentals. Only 3 blocks to beach, but a wagon would have made it so much more enjoyable. Utilize the trolley system! Front desk was a huge resource understanding it. It’s not the bus. Staff was awesome and hotel had great “feel” to it. Hotel bar and restaurant were really good. Kids ate free!!!! For breakfast. Cabinet door broken/fell onto us multiple times, 1/2 remotes didn’t work, card swipe access didn’t work consistently, broken blind, no hot water in shower every time. The restaurant and mini golf were nice.
