We enjoyed our time at this hotel. I like the feel of the hotel. The design is pretty clever, makes you feel at home. This is a lengthy review, I will return because my kids had a great time. Room- was perfect at first... then the AC broke down. I called the front office, they said it was fixed. It wasn’t. The bed was comfortable, but couldn’t enjoy it with the heat in the room. I called in again, to our surprise we went back to the room and they were replacing the entire ac unit. This made it clear that it wasn’t fixed the first night. They should have adjusted the rate for the first night. It was only two blocks away from the beach which was great. There’s also a CVS one block away. The pool was very small. The pool shown in the pictures near the water park, is part of the water park. It cannot be used unless you buy a water park ticket. The ticket are discounted if you are a hotel guest. We did use the small pool and hot tub. They never replenished the towel rack by the pool, instead they directed the guest to get the towels in the gym, which is really inconvenient. Jimmy Guana’s Restaurant is located in the hotel and it’s open for all meals. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that kids eat for FREE. The kids meals, the feedback was: Mac and cheese was not very good or the pizza. The burger and chicken tenders were good. I didn’t eat a lot, but the gumbo was not a winner. The wings were good. The fries were also good. The breakfast was the best meal. I don’t like home fries, but really enjoyed the ones here. Read less

On our recent stay March 7th and 8th my daughter was unable to use her pass for the water park as there was a cold front and it was way too cold. I talked with the manager Ken who was so very kind to tell me to bring that pass next time we visit and he will honor it. He is very helpful and accommodating. It is very apparent that he takes great care of his employees as everyone there is happy, professional, and hard working. He knows how to lead people in every department. Cindy was our server for breakfast both mornings and was spot on for everything. Our special requests were perfect. Like my omelette made soft, hot chocolate with whip cream for my daughter. She is very professional, helpful and has a terrific personality!! We by name requested her as our server the 2nd day as we enjoyed starting our day with her. At the bar Thu was fabulous as well. She was very attentive to us and everyone at the bar. She mixes a great drink and has a wonderful smile along with that. She was so much fun and accommodating that we stayed there for dinner and drinks for several hours!! We had originally planned to meet our friends at the bar and then go elsewhere for dinner and drinks. The hotel definitely made good money on our tabs as she kept us there. We had a great time. They had live music which was very nice. However the hotel has a Key West theme and we live in Key Largo, FL. There is an awesome entertainer by the name of Rick Merrill who lives in the area that would be a superb fit for Jimmy Iguanas as he plays music the keys style and is excellent. Our local favorite spot in Key Largo has him come down and play 1 weekend a month and we go see him every night he is here as we love his music. I gave Ken his phone number hoping he will hire him so we can see him there too!! How great would it be with Rick playing music and Thu bar tending!!! We will make a trip just for that!! Read less

Stayed for a month in a loft suite overlooking the marina/intercoastal. There are good things about this hotel ... the location is AWESOME ...on one side we could sit on our balcony and watch the boat traffic (a lot of it!), dolphins, egrets, pelicans.. two short blocks out the front door is a lovely beach ..lots of restaurants (don't miss Slyce Pizza ..their house salad is really as is their pizza), shops, a full service Post office and a large CVS drugstore. The pools are both nice .. good temps although the poolside umbrellas desperately need to be replaced. The hotel staff for the most part were unfailingly courteous and helpful; we had a couple of maintenance issues with our door and help was there immediately. The suite is very spacious with a large balcony. The not so good things ... the hotel is in dire need of a complete renovation... the decking is old and tired looking; as stated before, the pool umbrellas and some of the seats need to be replaced; the rooms themselves have good bones but need a good painting, new livingroom furniture and carpet .. yuck! The kitchens in the loft suites are sadly underequipped ... we ended up going to the dollar store to buy mugs and a few glasses ... there was not one glass or ceramic mug in the place ... exactly 4 spoons .. no sharp knives.. no bowls to mix stuff in.... it poured rain a couple of days and when we stepped outside our door, there was a minor lake going on that we had to walk through! (when I called the front desk, someone came immediately to mop as much away as they could). There is also ONE elevator to handle all the people that can't use the stairs (this is a 3 level hotel) and the housekeeping staff are required to use it as well so it can get pretty jammed sometimes. This is an expensive hotel that I would expect more from in terms of updated exterior and interior. Read less

Con: a little difficult to find the Lobby when arriving by car; not a traditional hotel with ground floor lobby. Had to climb about a dozen steps to reach the lobby. Hotel is "worn-out"; broken deck/floor boards throughout. Roof leaks throughout the common areas. Laundry room only has 3 washers and 3 dryers for this huge hotel, it's outdated and they only take quarters and no change machine. It cost me $5.25 to do one load, which meant I needed 21 quarters which I had to get from the front desk. Read less
