Management suffers greatly which is why this resort is spiraling downhill from 10 years ago. Resort managers with no qualifications whatsoever that they picked off the street. Look at the condition of this resort. Things falling apart, front desk doesn't care what you have to say. Rude employees. Life is too short. Find a hotel that will treat you right. I am not paying for people to treat me this badly. I can be treated badly for free anywhere. Read less

We spent a week snow-skiing at Heavenly Valley Ski Resort. March 21-28. We stayed in the Cascade Bldg. at the Ridge Resort. It was literally walking distance to the Stagecoach chairlift. Stagecoach accesses only Intermediate and above ski levels. Our Studio unit was updated. It had a King sleep number bed. A queen hide-a-bed with all needed bedding. There are no cost washer and dryers on each floor. Our studio had a small fridge and microwave, but worked well for us. A toaster would have been nice. The first day I rode the little Gondola that takes you to the Stagecoach chairlift. You get on a good distance from the Cascade Bldg. So I parked my car near where you get on. It drops you off right by the lift. You have to go down some stairs. However, at the end of the day when I needed to get back to my car, the gondola was not working. I guess it has some issues. So I had to wait about 30 minutes for a shuttle. I should have just walked to my Bldg. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at the Ridge. There are multiple bldgs. Great view of the Carson Valley for some bldgs. But we came there to ski and that's what we did. Only one bad day of weather. But the weather is very changeable and as a result sometimes there are very few lifts running. But all in all we had a great ski vacation and would do it again. You won't be sorry if you choose to stay at the Ridge. The pool and the outdoor hot tub were not open during our stay. Read less

Easy access to the tram which takes you to the ski lifts along with the pools and spa. However the rooms seemed a little worn. Fully equipped kitchen, humidifiers in rooms and two bedrooms connected by common living area. The second set of buildings are located farther away from the ski lifts and the large pool but do have a small on site, closed at the time we visited, pool and spa. This two bedroom unit was two separate rooms, one with a full size kitchen and living area the other with galley kitchen and sofa. This unit seemed to be either newer or more recently updated. The resort is very well located if you want to ski, two Heavenly ski lifts - Stagecoach and Boulder nearby. However, we were very unpleasantly surprised when we discovered our one-bedroom apartment in Plaza building didn't have any ventilation, air-conditioning, and ALL WINDOWS WERE SEALED. This means our family of four had to stay in un-ventilated space, which we think is actually not very healthy or pleasant. In particular if the fireplace is turned on, the air in the room quickly becomes stuffy. The room service at the resort said they had to seal the windows not letting customers open them due to strong winds that could tear the windows off. Actually I cannot recall any hotel, that I have stayed in the last many many years anywhere in the world that didn't have air-conditioning or ventilation or at least an option to open windows to naturally let some fresh air. We own a 2 bed 2 bath Cascade Unit and we come up here for 2 weeks every year using our Marriott week. When the Ridge switched to Holiday Inn Vacation Club we knew it's for the better. Nothing has changed unlike other mergers. We still get our ooh so delicious Banana Bread! Nina the Front Desk Manager looks after us! I love the Resort Manager and weekly Owners Update. I hope they will bring back the Owners Lounge with Coffee and treats soon or give us Daily Credits for all occupants in your Ridge Club Deli. The Bar and Deli and Restaurant are outstanding. During COVID it's luxury to bathe in the deep soaker tub in the Cascade . Please keep the Sleep Number Beds and upgrade it to the Cooling Mattress System. The WIFI has improved tremendously. Looking forward to our upcoming 2 week stay in May. It's just 5.5 hours from the San Jose area. We are truly blessed and feel valued as owners. Only if the Ridge Shuttles will run more often down to Stateline but we can't have anything! Read less
