Here’s the Good, the Bad & the Ugly. First the Good, and I mean VERY good. It’s the reception. Amanda is a jewel, gem and a queen. She is enormously efficient, knowledgeable and thorough. But that’s just the start. She’s so charming and personable that you feel like she’s welcoming you into her home. Working with the equally as wonderful Lisa made our stay all the more pleasant. The room was lovely with an amazing view, comfortable bed and lovely sitting area. The fireplace, although not necessary in the summer made for cozy evenings. The Bad – no air conditioning and there was no fan in our room, although we were told that every room had a fan. After a couple of days, a fan was brought to us. It was August and HOT during the day. The lighting in the bathroom. No human over the age of 40 could possible see in the mirror to shave or put on make up with the poor lighting in the bathroom. The lights were so dim it looked like dusk. Not good. The Ugly – the dining. First night (we stayed five nights) we went to Happy Hour, it was Margarita night. The older gentleman barkeep kept wanting to take our glasses away even though we weren’t finished with our drinks. Why? He said he needed the glassware. We were using our glasses to hold our margarita!! Someone, another guest, asked him how he was and he actually said “I’ll be better once nine o’clock comes.” Apparently that must be when he got off. Then we went to dinner in the main restaurant, The Hungry Bear. We were seated at our reservation time, 6:30 p.m. By 6:45 we had ordered our meal and bottle of wine. The wine was brought immediately. We waited for our dinners, and we waited, and we waited. Finally at 7:30 p.m. we asked Elizabeth, our server, where are our dinners? She said they’re coming. Really? We waited and waited and finally at 8:00 she brought them. My husband’s pork was burnt and the potatoes on my chicken dish were cold. We, of course, sent them back. Elizabeth then offered us an appetizer or salad. She should have done that during the course of our LONG wait. I told her I wanted a salad and nothing else. The kitchen remade our diners, the chicken dish I did not now want, and the spouse’s pork dish, which was now properly cooked. In the end, we were only charged for the wine – but that’s not the issue. We should have had our meal within a reasonable period of time. The hostess said they had large parties (which came after we were seated) and the kitchen got backed up. Not my problem. A total disaster!! On Saturday night, we thought we might try the restaurant again. But NO, it’s not open for dinner on Saturday night! What!!! Only the grab & go bistro. I guess we were expecting food and service commensurate with a high end resort. Not so much. But, yeah Amanda & Lisa, you made it all worthwhile. Read less

I called to make a reservation. MANY TIMES! spoke to Lauren, Sarah, Bree, Samantha, Pat, and left several messages. I had a simple question about extra charges. I was supposed to get calls back and or E-mails "the next day". I have received NOTHING! I leave more messages and get zero! Anybody work there?

The internet is the very worst, the hills are so steep you can't walk very far. They need to turn up the heaters on the pools. No patios on units so you have to go to public areas to be outside, no nice glass of wine at sunset. made me feel locked in. The units are dated and furniture needs to be replaced. The windows in my unit didn't work well some you could not open. In general the place needs a good refurbishment and up dating. The lighting in the units is not good. The fireplace is a joke, most likely won't be back. Read less

We are Marriott owners and could not get a trade to either Marriott resort at Lake Tahoe, so we were kind of not expecting the same level of quality at The Ridge Tahoe. We were wrong!! Huge two bedroom,(probably largest accomodations we have had in years)- beautiful view and so happy to be up in the mountains instead of in town. We had a family of 5 adults and we were so happy with the space and the beautiful furnishings. In early June we loved the comfortable weather to hike, bike and explore the area. Lots of happy hour specials for the refreshments after all the activity each day and beautiful equipped kitchen for breakfasts and dinners. Never stayed at a timeshare that had Sleep number beds -really a bonus! Indoor-outdoor heated pools were very nice and because it was still cool up in the mountains the shuttles were great to get back and forth from the pools. We were pleasantly surprise by the handball courts and it was a new activity that we all got to try. Under ground parking was very convenient. Overall a wonderful resort. Read less

I did a last minute overnight here, I loved my room with the incredible valley views. The pool and hot tub area for our building also was really beautiful, so relaxing. I really liked that they had a free shuttle to the casinos, it made it really easy to check it out!
