The resort is very well located if you want to ski, two Heavenly ski lifts - Stagecoach and Boulder nearby. However, we were very unpleasantly surprised when we discovered our one-bedroom apartment in Plaza building didn't have any ventilation, air-conditioning, and ALL WINDOWS WERE SEALED. This means our family of four had to stay in un-ventilated space, which we think is actually not very healthy or pleasant. In particular if the fireplace is turned on, the air in the room quickly becomes stuffy. The room service at the resort said they had to seal the windows not letting customers open them due to strong winds that could tear the windows off. Actually I cannot recall any hotel, that I have stayed in the last many many years anywhere in the world that didn't have air-conditioning or ventilation or at least an option to open windows to naturally let some fresh air. We own a 2 bed 2 bath Cascade Unit and we come up here for 2 weeks every year using our Marriott week. When the Ridge switched to Holiday Inn Vacation Club we knew it's for the better. Nothing has changed unlike other mergers. We still get our ooh so delicious Banana Bread! Nina the Front Desk Manager looks after us! I love the Resort Manager and weekly Owners Update. I hope they will bring back the Owners Lounge with Coffee and treats soon or give us Daily Credits for all occupants in your Ridge Club Deli. The Bar and Deli and Restaurant are outstanding. During COVID it's luxury to bathe in the deep soaker tub in the Cascade . Please keep the Sleep Number Beds and upgrade it to the Cooling Mattress System. The WIFI has improved tremendously. Looking forward to our upcoming 2 week stay in May. It's just 5.5 hours from the San Jose area. We are truly blessed and feel valued as owners. Only if the Ridge Shuttles will run more often down to Stateline but we can't have anything! Read less

Unfortunately, it is time to sell our timeshare in the Ridge (if anyone will buy it). We bought in over 30 YEARS ago in one of the first buildings at the resort. Unfortunately, it is time to sell our timeshare in the Ridge (if anyone will buy it). We bought in over 30 YEARS ago in one of the first buildings at the resort. We have had many wonderful memories here over the years. But ever since Holiday Inn took over, it has gone down hill. The property is dirty, the units & furniture are rundown and the service is extremely poor. It makes us so sad to see the once beautiful and upscale resort turn into a dingy motel. For those of you looking for a place to stay, you should look at the Marriott or others on the California side where you will be guaranteed a clean room with decent service that is closer to dining/shopping. It used to be worth the drive to the top of the hill (and lack of amenities) for the stunning views and exclusive resort...now it is just a hassle and disappointment Read less

We just stayed for a week and my only complaint is that the room could’ve been cleaned a little better (spots left in kitchen, moldy soap in shower, moldy drain tray in fridge) but otherwise everything is in great shape and we love staying here whenever we do! We skied for two days - the skier express has such quick access to Stagecoach Lodge. We participated in a snowshoe hike and played racquetball. Whatever we needed, the staff was very prompt about making sure we got it. Thanks for another great stay! Read less

I’ve been an owner at the ridge for 3 years. For our first stay since since IHG purchased the ridge when my wife checked in the front desk told her they were offering $100 resort credit if ONE of us participated in an update of improvements at the ridge. My wife specifically asked if she would have to attend and was told no, only me (her husband). I walked to the front desk a couple days later to inquire about the update. The Jen at the front desk set an appointment for me and told me all i needed to bring was a photo ID. I walked in the snow all the way down to the preview building. I was rudely turned away by the lady checking me in and said that I had to bring my wife. I told her that my wife was in our room watching our 3 kids. She continued to turn me away unless I could bring my wife. This was a complete waste of my time. As an owner at the ridge it is discouraging to deal with rude sales people. I spoke to Jen at the front desk on my way back to my room, she apologized, told me she would pass the message on to the manager of sales, and to expect a phone call. I have received no call from the manager. Since the manager of sales has made no attempt to rectify the situation I believe this poor behavior stems from the sales manager. If IHG really wants to make changes they should clean up the sales department, starting with the manager. Read less
