Sheraton Samui Resort

Koh Samui, Thailand

The hotel

It’s really all about the beach in Koh Samui, and Sheraton Samui Resort offers sand in spades. Making the most of its Chaweng Noi Beach spot, dining, drinking and swimming are all set against the ocean backdrop. Blue Monkey’s wooden deck delivers ocean views as you try unique ‘Pairings’ of craft beers and bar snacks or small plates and fine wines. The whitewashed wood and wicker of Long Talay give a beach house feel as you tuck into decadent buffets. A beachfront lagoon pool skirts the sand for sumptuous seafront swims. And the bell by your beach lounger can be used to order food so you never have to leave the shore. Although, if you do, you’ll find a peaceful garden pool with whirlpool, fabulous guest rooms, and the stunning lantern-lit Lobby Lounge.

The moment we arrived to this hotel, staff made us feel very welcome. They also got great breakfast buffet spread. Located near by a popular shopping plaza, Central is 10 minute by car. Also, there are some restaurant and massage place right by the hotel for I minute walking. Thank for the great memories.

I stayed at this resort in Room 161 September 5 to 11, 2019. I was upgraded to an upper floor with a breathtaking view of the ocean which was worth getting up early to view the sunrises from my patio.. The bed was on the 2nd floor with a TV. The main room had a huge in-room safe, mini fridgerator, TV, free bottles of water, shower, tub, iron, ironing board and small recycle cubs. The hotel itself was incredible. There is a bar next to the main lobby and the hotel computers that the guests can use are located next to the bar. There is an on-site restaurant, great kids area, two pools, beach bar, many beach lounge chairs, fitness area, tennis court, and a great spa to get a deep tissue massaage. The breakfast buffet is mind blowing that I had to go back several times as there was so much to choose from and everyday there was something knew. It was so good that I would get up early enough to beat the crowd so I could just sit at my table and enjoy the ocean view. The hotel grounds are well maintained, there are little monkey statues throughout the grounds that I loved to see, there are small waterfalls with fish ponds, that I wish I would have had some fish food to feed them and beautiful smelling flowers that I loved to smell after they have fallen off the trees and I would set outside my room door the flower petals to add a nice touch to my stay. Its a very peaceful resort to walk around. The beach is very well maintained and cleaned with a security guard present, so I felt very safe that I even fell asleep a couple of times, getting a tan and just listening to the ocean. The ocean water was very clean and clear that you could see the little fish swimming around my feet. There is a off-site restaurant and laundry facility across the street and a 7-11 store within walking distance. There are also security guards on patrol. I would like to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to every single hotel staff member for going above and beyond to make my stay so relaxing. They did such an exceptional job that they deserve a round of applause for their excellent service. I highly recommend this resort. Thanks Sheraton Samui Resort Read less

My wife and I have been visiting Thailand for a few years now, almost always on points. We chose to finally visit Koh Samui, and the Sheraton Samui Resort seemed the best bang for the buck (125k points for 5 nights), and was very well reviewed. I would like to add my overwhelming recommendation to that body of positive reviews! Ahead of our arrival the front desk team pinged me through the Bonvoy app to let me know that although they could not upgrade us for the first night of our stay, we could choose to switch to a suite for the rest of the stay. I was glad that we did, as the suite was great, and with a fantastic view of the beach and Gulf of Thailand - even better than our room the first night. (What a first night it was though! Flowers and champagne in the room. I think our ambassador helped a little there - I'm making up for a 10th anniversary working trip. I have a feeling though that if you are celebrating an occasion, the Sheraton Samui team will delight you.) It was awesome that they worked so hard to get us an upgrade - very, very appreciated. Regarding our arrival - we were wonderfully greeted by staff who genuinely enjoy their work and never failed to have a warm smile on their faces and an attention to guest comfort which was beyond admirable. And the grounds were gorgeous to boot. Though we don't eat breakfast, the breakfast buffet options looked amazing, and the chefs even took time to make animal pancakes for the kids. Coffee drinks were competently made, and the other food options all looked wonderful. There are a few restaurants available just outside the hotel grounds and up the beach - we pretty much enjoyed them all. The shuttle to town is a good option for exploring further - just let the front desk know 30-60 minutes before you want to leave. The beachfront and poolside lounge areas require an early visit (by 8am) to grab a spot before others do, but there is a lovely beachfront bar & restaurant with seats open all day. If I can make one suggestion, it would be to instruct guests about not reserving chairs too far ahead of their visit. I saw some reserved chairs stay unoccupied for 4 hours or more. Staff did seem to intervene upon request though. Read less

We look forward to visiting again. Read less

We booked this hotel as part of a package flight deal and saved some money. I had stayed on Chaweng Noi beach twice before and this was the main reason for choosing this hotel. Positives : This is the nicest beach on Samui and this hotel is right in the middle of it. There are two pools, one by the beach and one at the top of the hill near reception. The staff are exceptional in all parts of the hotel and really make things happen and are pleasant about it. The breakfast is enormous. It is one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had ,and I've had a lot. The variety is fantastic and the quality is superb. The location at the top of the hill is good. A word of warning is to watch the staff as they like to keep clearing your table before you are finished. My friend lost her tea bag and medications to a staff member clearing the table whilst we weren't watching. They even took the plate from under her whilst she was eating something from it. Negatives : We booked a Deluxe Room King Bed. There are 5 of these rooms all at the beach level with easy access to the pool and beach. The hotel provides an on-demand shuttle from the beach up to the reception/top pool at the top of the hill. There is only 2 of these rooms that you can see anything from because they are directly behind the children's play centre. We stayed 2 nights in room 203 with no view then moved to 201 on the end with a reasonable view of the beach and pool. The photos on their website are very misleading. Both rooms had intermittent bad sewerage smells. This forced another couple to move to another part of the hotel from room 204. We also found the same smells at the top pool occasionally. As in the tropics you get heavy rain occasionally. We did on two occasions and the patio flooded with the outdoor furniture soaking wet. Our patio roof took the water from two other rooves above us. There was no door mat so even without rain you dragged dirt and water into the room. Overall the room was comfortable and clean but room 203 was definitely tired. We did hear music from the Bar down the beach on one night but luckily not too loud. Rooms at the other end of the resort would have heard more. The selection of TV channels is restricted for my tastes. A Songthaew (covered taxi truck) will cost 100 Baht each to get into Chaweng. Prices are rising. Overall the hotel is not too bad but if you have mobility problems don't stay here as it is build on the side of a steep hill. Read less
