The hotel

In arguably the prettiest spot on Koh Samui, the Chaba Cabana Beach Resort is a bright and cheerful island escape on the soft white sands of Chaweng Beach – studded by palm trees. From rooms to reception, it’s been designed with a tropical tribal flavour. Cashing in on its beachfront spot, its pool stretches out towards the sands and its restaurant windows open up to reveal infinite views of the sea. But, if you can tear yourself from the vista, it also puts you just a walk from the shops, bars and restaurants of lively Chaweng itself, making it ideal for relaxation and recreation.

Where is it

On the northern end of Chaweng Beach, within walking distance to the bars, restaurants and shops. Transfer time from Samui International Airport: 10 minutes.

Hotel information

80 rooms. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, in-house movies, telephone, mini-bar*, fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities, safe, hairdryer and bathrobes. Deluxe Rooms are located in the hotel building to the rear of the resort and have a balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens, with 1 king-size bed or 2 single beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Half Board option: includes beakfast and lunch or dinner.

Full Board option: includes beakfast, lunch and dinner.

Deluxe Building rooms as above but are located in 4-story building, few minutes walk to the beach.

Deluxe Villas are the same as Deluxe Rooms but located on the ground floor closer to the beach, with 1 king-size bed or 2 single beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Great resort! Loved every minute of the 10 days I spent there. The staff were amazing and looked after my every need. Will definitely go back if I get the chance .

Arrived here for a week as the last part of a three week trip with my family. The hotel is well placed for trips around there island being a ten minute taxi ride to the main town or there is a shuttle bus from the hotel at three times per day. The hotel has one main pool with a children's pool attached. Rooms are in a good state with some having a sea view, air conditioning, tea coffee making facilities. Breakfast is a buffet style. Although the photos show a sandy beach with loungers on there was no beach with loungers on although this could be to time of the year. The swim up pool bar was not open although there is a bar close to the pool. Rooms are not very quiet and you could hear the nightly noises from the room above and alongside. There are two bottles of complimentary water per room per day when we asked could we have some more water we were told by the manager you have had your allocated water for the day and there is a shop in the town 15 minute walk away. I have travelled to Thailand for years and have never been told this bearing in mind we arrived at 4pm and asked for water the following day at 10am the room wasn't cleaned until the afternoon. Breakfast was disappointing with little choice. We found all staff to be miserable and rude with one male down by the pool grunting at everything you ask. We were made to feel as if we were in the way. The hotel is not child friendly. To sum up I would not stay at this hotel again due to the attitude of the staff and more importantly the manager. We came back in January this year and spent a fantastic month relaxing and chilling out at Chaba Cabana resort at the north end of Chaweng beach and think we made the right decision. (slight regret we didn’t do it in previous years)… Here we are again back for 7 weeks this time at the Cabana and 3 weeks in feel so at home I would like to stay for an even longer period of time. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with all the amenities that we require for short or long stay. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating, reservation staff, reception, restaurant, housekeeping and management have done everything to make us feel welcome and part of their family group. We like this place so much we have booked again for next year. Read less
