They may call themselves a ‘base camp’, but that’s definitely only in spirit — not in style. Thanks to its location, Banff Aspen Lodge is favoured by those wanting to pitch up and experience all the attractions of this popular ski and spa town, from its snow sports to its famous hot springs. But its style is far from ‘base camp’. Smart and swanky, its rustic-meets-chic décor is matched by a series of extra touches that make an ‘outdoorsy’ holiday uncharacteristically comfortable, like complimentary WiFi, ski and bike storage, the coffee and cake-stocked Whitebark Café, and a steam room and sauna for soothing adventure-weary muscles. You can start your day filling up at the breakfast buffet, with its local bacon and sausages and home-baked treats. And you can end it in an outdoor hot tub with a crackling fireplace.

Hotel is pricey but again so is everything in Banff. Worth it though , we really enjoyed our stay here, would stay again.

A lovely central Banff hotel. Perhaps doesn’t have the kerb appeal of some of the others but don’t let that put you off.
We stayed for 3 nights in a second floor room overlooking the street.
The room was huge, comprising of a king sized bedroom, bathroom, compact kitchen area with microwave, oven and hob, and a large lounge with balcony.

A Clean, comfortable and well furnished room.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The outdoor hot tubs were a lovely bonus and we enjoyed a good soak after a long day on our feet.
There was plenty of choice on the self service buffet breakfast.
A great place to stay to explore this amazing part of Canada.

Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Underground and open air parking onsite which was great as we had a very large SUV (GMC Yukon).
Also has an onsite coffee shop, although it closes very early so in the evening you had to go elsewhere to get a coffee.

Very comfortable stay and this clean modern hotel. Great complimentary breakfast. Staff were really helpful and pleasant. The White Bark coffee shop in the lobby was a real gem. Didn't use the hot tub as weather was too cold but it looked great.
