They may call themselves a ‘base camp’, but that’s definitely only in spirit — not in style. Thanks to its location, Banff Aspen Lodge is favoured by those wanting to pitch up and experience all the attractions of this popular ski and spa town, from its snow sports to its famous hot springs. But its style is far from ‘base camp’. Smart and swanky, its rustic-meets-chic décor is matched by a series of extra touches that make an ‘outdoorsy’ holiday uncharacteristically comfortable, like complimentary WiFi, ski and bike storage, the coffee and cake-stocked Whitebark Café, and a steam room and sauna for soothing adventure-weary muscles. You can start your day filling up at the breakfast buffet, with its local bacon and sausages and home-baked treats. And you can end it in an outdoor hot tub with a crackling fireplace.

The location of this Hotel was great for us because we wanted to be a bit farther from the busier downtown Banff area but yet walking distance to everything. Parking is free. Check in was quick and we even got an upgrade although the views could have been better. Our balcony faced a apartment complex and their porches but if you looked sideways, you could see the mountains. I was happy they had one washer and one dryer but they only take Canadian coins and the staff do not exchange USD to CAN in the Lobby. I would suggest that they should switch to laundry facilities that take credit cards so anyone can use them no matter where they're from. I did manage to get CAN coins and then after the wash the dryer wouldn't work so I had to hang our clothes throughout our hotel room. We used our breakfast voucher just to get a coffee to go and apparently they're not set up for that. The man had to go into the back and pour our cups of coffee instead of having to-go cups available. The location is good, room was clean so I would probably stay here again.

Stayed for 5 nights. Great location. Breakfast included which was sufficient, nothing fancy. The sofa in our room was the hardest sofa I have ever sat on! Not comfy at all. Bed was very comfy. Overall this hotel satisfied our needs. Nothing fancy but did the job.
9.5/10, wonderful staff!!

The Breaksfast (included) was hot and fresh, and the breakfast Team delivered the most efficient and courteous service we’ve had in Banff!
The check-in was quick, easy, and Melissa provided tips for staying in town during peak season.
The room was tiny, but well appointed, super clean and housekeeping staff were also pleasant & helpful.

Air conditioning during a heat wave was greatly appreciated, too (controller in the room)

Great location and comfortable rooms

The premier room was very comfortable, light and airy, well equipped and very central. We arrived on Canada Day so had a first class view of the parade. The staff at the breakfast were quick and efficient with the usual buffet style choices. The little cafe in the foyer was great for coffee (the best we’ve had so far in Canada) and snacks
