The hotel

They may call themselves a ‘base camp’, but that’s definitely only in spirit — not in style. Thanks to its location, Banff Aspen Lodge is favoured by those wanting to pitch up and experience all the attractions of this popular ski and spa town, from its snow sports to its famous hot springs. But its style is far from ‘base camp’. Smart and swanky, its rustic-meets-chic décor is matched by a series of extra touches that make an ‘outdoorsy’ holiday uncharacteristically comfortable, like complimentary WiFi, ski and bike storage, the coffee and cake-stocked Whitebark Café, and a steam room and sauna for soothing adventure-weary muscles. You can start your day filling up at the complimentary breakfast buffet, with its local bacon and sausages and home-baked treats. And you can end it in an outdoor hot tub with a crackling fireplace.

Great selection for those that are gluten free or dairy free ! Only reason for not giving a 5 star is we tried to book for a return visit and the rates more the doubled which is outrageous ! Good choice for Banff. Local bus handy and walk to all shops, restaurants etc. Premium Room with sofa was comfortable and good value. Included breakfast was excellent. Did not use the hot pools which were right outside our door

After skiing get yourself into the hot tubs cures all your aches . Where ever we ate in the evening the food was excellent especially The Park and The Magpie and Stump. Overall a Fantastic Skiing experience even though we had never skied before but would definitely recommend sticking to Sunshine Village.

Room was small and freezing cold with only 1 vent. Shower water was Luke warm at best and the shower floor was so cold you couldn't stand on it with bare feet. Breakfast was pretty dull, definitely not worth the money

An awsome hotel if you want a centric but not to expensive hotel. You get what you pay for. The breakfast has limited but not tiring options. The staff is great, with a lot of good recommendations. Defenitly would stay here again.
