This was a two night get away to Banff using the WillowStream spa package the nights of 11 and 12 November 2020. We had a lovely mountain view room, daily breakfast at Vermillion Room, self parking, and two spa appointments each. The spa was lovely, even though there were some restrictions in place for health reasons. The mineral pool; the hot, warm, and cold plunge pools; and the outdoor hot tub were open; as was the indoor whirlpool. We were able to use the facilities for 2 hours after our treatments, and both felt comfortable with the limited number of clients allowed in the space. I had a great massage on the arrival day, and the BEST facial of my life on the departure day. Thanks a million to the facial therapist Julie who was interested in my goals for the treatment and seamlessly provided a treatment that exceeded my therapeutic goals of having some extractions while calming my sensitive skin and having a relaxing experience. Let me tell you, Julie is passionate about helping her clients with their skin and provided helpful product recommendations without a trace of that pushy sales person feeling that I have sometimes experienced at other spas. My partner had a treatment massage the first day, and a relaxing experience massage the last day which helped to provide balance. The resort activities included a guided 1 hour walk and we did this with Harry. This was a highlight of our trip, being an easy 1 hour walk through the forest and a tributary of the Spray river. The walk offered lovely views and Harry was happy to take pictures for us. It felt like a private guide experience even though it is an inclusion for all guests. Read less

Pool-We have 3 active kids who love to swim, so this is the main reason we choose this property for our birthday celebrations. I confirmed the booking system for the pool three times with three different employees, and was told that booking for the weekend opens up on Friday at noon (we checked in on Friday, check out on Sunday). I set my alarm for 1159am, was logged in at exactly noon, and there was only one available time option for our family of 5-on both saturday and sunday. I met someone in the pool who booked on thursday...not sure if some people had earlier access to booking a time slot. We did get enough swim time because of the walk in option, I was just a bit annoyed with our lack of options for a reserved swim time. Food-We looked forward to yummy cocktails and food for the family at the rundle lounge...but the menu and layout has changed. The kids menu was absurd...tuna bowl, steak sandwich or meatballs. I felt as though they no longer welcome young kids, they sent us over to the Vermillion room. Fortunately, they had a table for us-the last one-and the kids menu was marginally better than the rundle bar. Pasta or grilled chicken with veggies...our usual go to at hotels is chicken strips and fries...not the healthiest...but it is reserved for a special occasion. So the kids ate the pasta, we ate their grilled chicken. We ended up ordering room service for breakfast...that worked well. Takes about 45 minutes but you can preorder the day before. We cancelled our reservation for Saturday evening at the Vermillion room. The only way to get chicken strips and fries was room service. I promised the kids dessert on Saturday after dinner. Cafe with muffins and pastries closes at 6pm, room service offered cookies and milk, Rundle bar dessert not really kid friendly and the Vermillion room was full. I had to get my winter clothes on and go to the convenience store next to the conference centre to get popsicles. Not impressed...I wish we had ordered food from a restaurant in town and had it delivered. Bowling-this was lots of fun. We ordered the wings...not bad but they don't have a deep fryer...so they were baked...so not as tasty. The staff was awesome, love the pools, room was fine. I did feel as though they were not catering to families with young kids, which is why i am not sure we will be returning. I am hoping that this is temporary due to the pandemic...but i will ask a lot of questions before i book again...when things are back to normal! Read less

Beautiful enchanted hotel that looks like a christmas castle ! Service is impeccable. However, food is quite overpriced. Rooms are awesome. Outdoor pool is beautiful in the winter time. We had an amazing stay, would definitely recommend!

I have been coming to the Banff Springs two or more times a year for the past five years. I’m blessed to live nearby. I adore this place in all seasons and never tire of visiting. But I confess that I love it best in the winter. The staff are amazing, the surroundings spectacular and the hotel really is the Castle in the Rockies.
