We just returned from a great stay for our 40th anniversary. We had photos of our suite back in '81. Alas those floors were under construction during Covid so not available this time. But they put us into a nice Jr. Suite with the same $1M view. We had booked trough Expedia and had to delay our stay for a day awaiting our Covid test results but Letitia at the front desk took care of making the date changes. Everyone was so friendly and extra helpful. Real professionals. Covid restrictions meant only eating in our room (room service was very quick) or on the patio. A bit chilly in April but hey, we're Albertans. Really enjoyed talking with many of the staff, like Amy in the Vermillion, who all had time since the hotel was so quiet. Bob in Engineering gave us some history and an impromptu outdoor 'tour'. The BSH is highly recommended for a 'splurge' stay that seems everyone can use these days. We definitely won't wait another 40 years for our next one! Read less

Probably one of the most beautiful hotels in Canada. Second only to the fairmont in Quebec in my opinion. The location is amazing. But you all know that already. What’s embarrassing for them is that they know it and they charge out the nose for every little thing. You’re already paying $3-400 a night for a room, but then there is a $30/day resort… Read more

What’s embarrassing for them is that they know it and they charge out the nose for every little thing. You’re already paying $3-400 a night for a room, but then there is a $30/day resort experience fee (whatever that is), $30/day to park, $8 to rent a blanket to sit by the fire, 18% gratuity added to ever interaction regardless of whether or not it was positive, no breakfast included like at most hotels, and the list goes on and on. Don’t get me wrong I love staying here. But come on. This is getting out of hand. My wife and I spent $1200 for a two night stay. Read less

We stayed April 14-15 at the Fairmont Banff and we were blown away from the moment we walked into the chateau. The property is beautiful and dated (not the guest rooms tho) which makes it very charming. Since we went during the week we felt like we had the entire property to ourselves. All the staff was very helpful and friendly and we felt pretty safe with their covid-19 precautions (only registered guests are allowed inside). Unfortunately due to current restrictions we could only dine in our room or on the patio. We did go to the bar for a beverage to go and the bartender (sorry forgot his name- older gentleman) he tailored a cocktail for my husband and made me their house made gingerale and both were delicious. Their cafe patio was very nice to seat at during the day when it was warm and the food waa very good. M We also had a massage and that was very good tho with the current restrictions we couldnt take advantage of their full spa.facilities which was a shame but nothing you can do. Overall we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this hotel. Read less

Amazing experience!! If you’re thinking of visiting Banff during the pandemic - and you want to be safe, please book at this hotel. We stayed at the Fairmont for my mother’s birthday April 15-17. We waited until she received her vaccine and it was the first time she got to meet her 4 month old grandson. We were greeted upon arrival at the hotel by extremely courteous and professional staff. Our temperatures were checked, all luggage (with a baby there is a lot!) was brought to our room making the entire process stress-free. The hotel was immaculately clean and not busy, I actually prefer it this way as access to the hotel was limited to only guests. I have been coming to the Banff Springs for years. The entire time during our stay the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and safe. We were so happy, we extended our stay one additional night. The front desk staff was very accommodating by ensuring we had the best possible set up for the baby. The hotel provided us with a microwave and crib (on request) extending the comforts from home allowing us to relax and enjoy a small break in the mountains. I hope to return again soon in the summer. Highly recommend! This property has very good covid protocols in place to ensure safety of guests. 10/10 Read less
