We recently stayed here for 4 nights and had a fantastic time. It was a much needed short getaway, after months of working without a break (we are in healthcare). The hotel was kind enough to upgrade us and we loved the one bedroom suite that gave us a 180 degree view including Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain, golf course, Rundle Mtn. First and foremost, I, as an Infectious Disease doctor, felt SAFE in the hotel. It was obvious that the hotel has taken the safety of their employees and their guests very seriously. There were hand sanitizer stations everywhere, signs to remind people to physically distance, requests to everyone to wear masks when in public area (I would have preferred that the hotel INSIST on people wearing masks). The room we had was very clean and it looked like it either had new carpet or the carpet was recently shampooed. The TV and fireplace remotes were in plastic shields. The entire room was spotless. Housekeeping was only provided every 3 days but you could text them anytime if you need more amenities. I think they leave the room unoccupied for 48 hrs after you check out, so that they have time to disinfect, before the next guests check in. The spa and salon were open and precautions were appropriately taken to keep everyone safe. The prices are extremely reasonable. The newly renovated space is very nice. Pool was open and was busy as the weather was good. Lounge chairs were spaced far apart, so no real concerns there. Almost all the restaurants have reopened except for our favourite - Grapes - but fortunately, the charcuterie was available in the Vermillion Room, so all was not lost! The Italian restaurant was not yet open but everything else was. Sleep quality was excellent, as always, and an added bonus with our room was that we could hear the waterfall when the window was open and we slept very well, without the AC, with the soothing sound of the waterfall and the cool night time breeze coming through the window. Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. It was another wonderful stay. Read less

We did a weekend getaway with my wife! We had an amazing time staying on the Gold floor! The staff were amazing and so kind! Special thanks to Maxime, Tristan and Angela who were particularly outstanding! We felt safe, cleanliness was clearly a priority and we were pampered. Great break for a couple of days! Thanks Fairmont Banff Springs!

What was annoying was the small portion of guests not doing their part to protect theirs and rest of our health or just being not well behaved. This is world class facility we enjoyed at a reduced rate. Let’s be grateful. It was so nice to enjoy the beauty of Banff with fellow Canadians. Well done Fairmont Banff. Read less

I had the best fairmont experience at this hotel. Out of the many I’ve been to (Vancouver, Whistler, Barcelona, Toronto) the experience here and service I’ve received was absolutely amazing. I decided to splurge and book a gold Junior suite room as part of my trip to Banff and Jasper. After coming back from the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, I was feeling ok about the brand as a whole, however that changed after I completed my check in. I did have a small hiccup when checking in, namely that the room I had booked was right next to the elevator and had a fine layer of dust in the bathroom. When I was booking the room there was no mention of proximity to the elevator and even in my ALL profile I indicate I prefer a room away from the elevator. When I explained the above to the staff checking me in he apologized and went to check with his manager, Hark. Hark took control of the situation immediately and upgraded us to a one bedroom suite (far far away from the elevator). What a room that is. Words can’t even describe how amazing and beautiful the scenery is outside. We had numerous windows in the room, letting in bright sunlight every morning and made me feel less trapped in a box (unlike fairmont jasper). Every day we visited the gold lounge for breakfast and small bites. While the menu is a bit limited during covid and no buffet style, the waiters and staff really tried their best to serve everyone promptly and with a cheery attitude. Hark and another manager were frequently onsite serving customers and checking in with us several times. My last thought is this, I was a bit skeptical of spending so much to splurge on a gold room however this experience left me wanting more. I think truly if you are looking to have an experience of a lifetime and stay in a home away from home, the fairmont gold staff and rooms are the one for you. Thank you again Hark and all the incredible staff for making our stay so memorable! Read less

As Calgarians, we decided to spend a few days plus Canada Day in Banff and the Rocky Mountains. We stayed at the Banff Springs as we intended to relax, read books and chill as we knew that the Springs had lots of nooks and crannies to do just that and we would be able to social distance. However, after checking in, we quickly realized that was not going to happen. Only the main part of the hotel is open. Side doors are all chained up. But that's ok as we understand the hotel wanting to take all necessary precautions during Covid and we appreciated that. We stayed on the 2nd level but the view wasn't great - we were level to a roof. Room was small but comfy. Everything was ordered through texting - extra towels, toiletries. The items were brought up within a very reasonable time period. Masks, hand sanitizer and temp check at the front door. Every time. Social distancing everywhere and employees were masked and gloved. The hotel was very empty but when we passed other guests, most were wearing masks and adhering to the 6 ft apart. Elevators were 4 people max but everyone always waited for the next lift if a family or couple stepped into one. The downside - having been charged full freight resort fee. Given that we couldn't use the entire hotel and no access to the gym, I thought it would have been good practice not to charge the full resort fee. Also, we dined in the Vermilion Room once - the tables were well spaced apart side to side but not so much from back to back. The table behind my husband was about 3 feet away. Because of that, we chose not to dine at the hotel for the duration of our trip. Although we have stayed at the Springs many times, we will seek out another hotel for our next trip as we felt that given what we paid and the limited access, it wasn't as special and really didn't stand apart from any other hotel.
