We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary. You get the feeling that the hotel is nice and inviting from the moment you walk in. Chils’s, the pool and access to parking is all great. One of the reasons we booked here was the “free parking”. It is free alright, when it’s available. There’s not enough parking to accommodate all guests when the hotel is full, especially when hotel staff are parked there too. Parking garage fills up by late afternoon, so when we got back from dinner it was full. My wife asked at the front desk, their response was, it is first come, first served (this is not noted on web site) and just to park on the street. Parking turned out to be 2 blocks away, in a snow storm. Housekeeping in my opinion was a sub-standard effort. Somebody tracked snow in from the front door to the bathroom, the floor by the front door was dirty when we arrived until check out, could have and should have been wiped up daily. We have stayed in many Banff area hotels and perhaps this time we were just unlucky, but certainly can’t give this experience full marks. Read less

We stayed at the Fox Hotel this last time in Banff (pet-friendly) and had a great time! The rooms are well equipped, nice and quiet and it's very well located, as well. Very helpful staff! Also has a nice underground parking.

My partner and I booked this hotel for the grotto. Upon arrival they advised us the tub had sprung a leak. The only hot tub we could use was their sister hotels down the road about 8 minutes. Put a bit of a damper in our stay as I wouldn’t have chosen this hotel without the perk of the grotto.

So that was disappointing. We got a standard room. The room was clean and cute but small and the bed was not that comfortable but okay. No fridge in the room :( Chilis was awesome..food was good..breakfast was great too. I prob would not stay here again. I feel like you should get a discount or some kind of comp (free dinner) for their amenities not working though. Read less

We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of our honeymoon trip. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the room had a lounge (with fireplace) and small kitchen, with a mezzanine bedroom and bathroom. It had a balcony with great views of the mountains behind the hotel. The room was maybe slightly tired but it was also really quirky and cozy. The staff had also very kindly left us a card and bottle of wine to help celebrate our honeymoon. The location is good, maybe 10-15 mins walk from downtown Banff, but there is a Roam bus stop just outside too. The only slight niggle was that the pool was out of order due to a leak - this had been one of the things that attracted us to the hotel so a bit disappointing at first, but these things happen and the hotel was dealing with it brilliantly. Guests could visit the pools of 3 associated hotels - one with a hot tub on the roof :) Overall a great place to stay. Read less
