We stayed two nights with two of our grandchildren. It was a little out of the way but there was a bus to get to town. The bus was free ask at reception for your tickets. Our boys loved the little Fox that was gifted to them. The rooms were extremely small. Chillis Restaurant on site was great.

Great stay for 4 nights to go skiing as the bus to Sunshine and Lake Louise stops outside. Probably one of the best hotels in Banff. My wife and I were trying to decide which was better, The Moose, or The Fox, and although we didn't really reach a definitive answer, here are some things I can say for certain.... The location is further up the main drag, so a little further from the shops, but that also means it's not as busy. Rooms are clean and a good size. TV's offer ample chanels, and beds are comfortable. The spa/hot tub area is the real selling feature of this hotel. It's one of a kind and was definitely the highlight. I particularily appreciated how late they were open till (11pm). We didn't use the restaurant at the hotel or the complimentary breakfast, but it's a Chili's, which is quite good and affordably priced. We don't normally stay at the same hotel twice, but we may have to make an exception for this one! Read less

Have enjoyed 6 nights at the Fox. Had a double room and there was enough space especially with the upstairs living area being away from the downstairs sleeping area. Room had a kitchenette (no stove/range) but has good size mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink. In the down side, the bed mattresses are so noisy when you get in/out of bed or just roll over. Perhaps something to do with the mattress protector but it’s really annoying. If you are in a lower level you will hear the guests in the room above, especially if the are restless elephants. Room servicing could not be faulted at all. Having the Chilis restaurant at the hotel is super convenient and we ate there every evening and there was enough variety in the menu to do so. The continental breakfast is great. Loved the thermal spa/pool, but the gym is tiny; however I guess you’re out and about every day around Banff anyway. Staff have been great and overall it has been an enjoyable stay and will recommend the Fox to others. Read less

We stayed overnight at the Fox and had decided on the hotel after hunting around for a good deal. The price point + photos of the cute wallpaper is what made our minds up. We stayed overnight at the Fox and had decided on the hotel after hunting around for a good deal. The price point + photos of the cute wallpaper is what made our minds up. I was initially a bit put off that it's a 10-15 minute walk into the town, but it was only an issue as it was ~-18 celsius that night, not really that far in the end! Anyway, what a pleasant stay! The lobby is a bit busy (waterfalls + a fireplace + a lot of mountain tat) but.. it really works! So first impressions were solid and it went up from there... The room: We were upgraded to a suite which was 1. perfect for us (essentially a one bedrooms + living space and kitchenette) and 2. I imagine would be great for a family if they opted for a connected room. It was CLEAN and SPACIOUS. The tub is not huge but the bathroom was very clean and there were just a lot of nice touches. Even the way the kitchen's wash cloth was folded around a little dish soap bottle was charming. It looked like housekeeping and their leadership are doing a very good job and should be happy. There were a couple fixes to the wallpaper, but that's bound to happen. The furniture was nice, the bed was comfy as was a pull-out couch. Two TVs in the bedroom and living room. Nicely appointed, clean and very charming. A couple cute touches like a local discount book and some fox-themed postcards. The foxes: I have to say, there are foxes literally everywhere - the signage, tiled floors, lamps (multiple lamps) the lobby... it's actually REALLY CHARMING! I thought the Chilli's restaurant would be a blah chain but tbh it was great for a nightcap and the continental breakfast was really well done, we've stayed in a couple chain hotels recently and this was far better and fresher and more healthy. Spa/hot tub: The grotto-style spa area was under construction, so we were told we could access neighbouring partner hotels, but opted for an offer of hot springs passes. The staff were pleasant. All around, good location, clean, friendly, very good value, and nicely decorated. Once a year I stay at the Banff Springs with family and while that is obviously on another level... I haven't been as impressed for a couple years. So I would say, go ahead and book! (I also never leave reviews so clearly I was impressed) Read less
