Today it’s one of Calgary’s landmark buildings, offering a superb range of amenities and luxury accommodation in the heart of downtown. Dining at the Rimrock is essential whilst here, an incredible Tudor-style restaurant with barrelled ceilings and massive stone fireplace. Don’t miss out on the hotel’s award-winning Sunday Brunch, served in the grand lobby and accompanied by live piano music – book early to avoid disappointment. For drinks and entertainment, there’s the Oak Room, a cosmopolitan meeting space, serving tapas and cocktails along with some very cool jazz. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the customer service at Fairmont Palliser over the phone, and I must say, it was quite disappointing. I called to request a simple amenity - a housecoat - but what followed was a series of miscommunications that left me frustrated. Firstly, the representative on the phone seemed to have difficulty understanding my request. After explaining multiple times that I needed a housecoat, she assured me that it would be promptly delivered to my room. However, to my surprise and dismay, what arrived was not a housecoat, but an extra bed. I couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor gentleman who had to lug the roll-away bed to my room, only for me to inform him that I didn't require it. He then had to haul it back, all the while inconveniencing himself. To add insult to injury, when I called back to clarify the situation, she informed me that the housecoat was already in my room closet all along. It was disheartening to realize that not only was the initial mistake made, but also that the solution was right under their noses and yet overlooked. As a guest staying at a luxury hotel, I expect a certain level of attentiveness, communication skills and competence from the staff, especially in regards to simple requests. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of these expectations. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the management to improve their customer service processes and ensure a more seamless experience for future guests. Read less

Excellent service and hotel, food and drinks at the hotel restaurant are top shelf and the staff are very knowledgeable. Plus 15 is attached so you can radially go to the tower or Ruth’s chris without leaving to go outside. Also there is a parking garage attached.

Self parking is far, but as we were there on the weekend, was a fraction of the cost to valet. As a heads up, self parking is very far. My children enjoyed the hotel, from the pool to the large communal spaces, especially in the lobby area. Location was great. Hotel is just beautiful. Read less

Best hotel in Calgary The staff and valet are very accommodating. It is also very clean. My kids had fun. The location is so convenient to downtown activities. There were lots of areas to take pictures at. The room sizes are spacious and the bathrooms are well equipped
