The hotel

Fairmont Palliser first opened its doors to guests in 1914 as one of the Canadian Pacific Railroad Hotels. Today it’s one of Calgary’s landmark buildings, offering a superb range of amenities and luxury accommodation in the heart of downtown. Dining at the Rimrock is essential whilst here, an incredible Tudor-style restaurant with barrelled ceilings and massive stone fireplace. Don’t miss out on the hotel’s award-winning Sunday Brunch, served in the grand lobby and accompanied by live piano music – book early to avoid disappointment. Where is it

In the centre of town and connected to attractions via the Plus 15 Walkway system. Another city landmark, the Calgary Tower, is just next door. Transfer time from Calgary Airport: 25 minutes.

Fairmont Rooms with 1 king-size bed, 1 queen-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Junior Suites are ideal for families, with either 1 king-size bed, 1 queen-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

1 Bedroom Suites have a spacious seating area with large windows and a separate bedroom area with bathroom. With either 1 king-size bed and a double sofa bed or 1 queen-size bed and a double sofa bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Fairmont Gold Rooms are found on a private concierge floor with upgraded services and amenities. Rooms are newly renovated and complete with modern business amenities including a CD player/alarm radio, complimentary shoeshine and nightly turndown service, morning delivery of coffee, tea or juice and choice of newspaper. With either 1 king-size bed, 1 queen-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

We have stayed at the Fairmont Palliser more times than I can count and every time, we have had an exceptional experience and If there is ever any issues it is resolved and looked after efficiently. We have also stayed an many fairmonts in North America and this is by far our favorite. If you can , I do recommend the Gold Floor, the staff are always amazing and the extras go a long way. My kids love hanging out in the lounge and just having that extra space and comfort. Jill, Cecilia and all the Gold Floor staff always go above and beyond and it's makes our stay even more pleasant. Excellent location, downtown in the heart of the City. Incredibly polite and friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble. They deserve the full credit. Room was pleasant enough, a little 'tired' but it is a very old building with character and charm. When we arrived exhausted from a day travelling we were given a room directly above the railway line outside. The room itself was fine, but not the location as I didn’t want to risk being woken by trains in the early morning. The room itself was fine, but not the location as I didn’t want to risk being woken by trains in the early morning. We were moved yo another room to the left side if the hotel where a party was going on in the main lobby dining room below and we had been told we wouldn’t hear, we absolutely could!! The room had wallpaper hanging from the walls in the bedroom and bathroom. It was not anywhere near the standard of the room we had originally been allocated. The air conditioning in the room wasn’t working and it was a hot day/night! However, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and due to both exhaustion and the fact we were staying only one day we decided to just put up with the shabby room! However, given that our holiday was supposed to be a ‘first class luxury’ holiday, the room certainly wasn’t!! Read less
