Loved this hotel. The shower was fantastic, the bed very comfy and the room very relaxing and clean and comfortable. Busy street outside was a bit noisy even on the 9 th floor. Visited Moxie’s for food and was happy with the food and service. Good hotel for a downtown stay!

Stayed one night on our way to Banff. Hotel is being refurbished and areas completed appear to be to a high standard. I have stayed at the Sandman several times in the past year, most recently this past week. I stayed on the 20th floor in one of the recently renovated rooms/floors, it was excellent. The room/floor has been totally refreshed. The bathroom with a walk in shower was very well done, and the bed and linens were excellent. They have been undergoing renovation for a while and it appears to be almost done, which is a very good thing. Overall I was very pleased with the new rooms and look forward to seeing the renovation completed. Thank you Read less

My wife, our baby daughter, and I stayed at this hotel for two of the worst nights in a hotel ever. Checking in was relatively smooth, but getting to our room on the 18th floor was another story. It took over ten minutes for one of four aged elevators to arrive. When it did, we shuddered up, then down, then up past our floor, before finally jerking to a halt at the 18th floor. The rooms are supposed to have been renovated, but the craftsmanship is so poor that it looks like it was done by amateurs. The beds were comfortable, I will give them that. However we were awakened by the sound of jackhammers and drills, as it became swiftly apparent that the renovations were still underway on the next floor. Upon exiting the room, and pushing the button for the elevator, we summarily waited another ten minutes before calling the front desk and asking them what was wrong. As it turns out, three of the four elevators were out of service. When the elevator arrived, we descended to the lobby, only for the doors not to open. We remained trapped in the elevator for 15 minutes before we were freed. The second night was more of the same, and I can honestly say, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until the renovations are finished. Read less

Stayed here for the Firefighter Stairclimb and it was a horrible experience. First of all we couldn't find a place to park while checking in and then to figure out the elevator system to get back into the hotel and not another building was retarded. They only had one elevator out of 4 working and besides the staircllimb clientele they also had a tour group from Germany. So needless to say we waited on the 18th floor for 25 mins (numerous times) for an elevator before taking the stairs down! The only thing I can say good about our stay was the room was clean. Will not stay here again. Read less
