I recently spent some 4 nights at this hotel located right downtown. The room was beautiful with a view of downtown, a newly renovated bathroom with rainfall shower and a bright spacious lobby. Everyone I came in contact with was professional and helpful.

I usually stay at the Sandman when I travel to Calgary. Good location. I was happy to find out that renos are almost finished. However I am disappointed they did not clean my room...not a big deal but the small things make a difference...

Stayed here for 2 nights. They did cosmetic updates but the AC and windows remain the same. Feels like upgraded motel. The room is clean though. Location right across the train. Also across the infamous “crack macs”. I didn’t really go out so I did not feel unsafe. They have a lounge that offers 24 hours continental breakfast which was nice,… Read more

Also across the infamous “crack macs”. I didn’t really go out so I did not feel unsafe. They have a lounge that offers 24 hours continental breakfast which was nice, fully stocked, and clean. I won’t mind returning for short term stays. They are still in the middle of construction but I was out all day so it didnt bother me and I leave early so I didn’t hear anything. Read less

Great hotel right in what I believe to be the heart of downtown! It was so cold when I was there I didn’t get out much (-26 Fahrenheit!!!). The room was spacious and the bed comfy. The bathroom was very little but clean. I had access to the business exec conference room where they stock juices, yogurt, bagels etc and that was nice. It was a ways… Read more

The bathroom was very little but clean. I had access to the business exec conference room where they stock juices, yogurt, bagels etc and that was nice. It was a ways out of the way from my room but great to get a small snacking breakfast. There was a tv and games to play in there too, as well as couches and chairs! There was also construction going on at the hotel on the 4th floor I believe but It didn’t bother me. The pool area was smaller but nice and pretty empty a majority of the time. My one complaint is that I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the heat in the room. I set the temp up to 70 Fahrenheit (like I said, it was SO COLD there that my windows were radiating cold air). It would just blow cool air the whole time no matter what I did. I finally turned it off because it was acting just like a fan and making me feel even chillier. Read less

The room was nicely layed out and very clean. The bathroom was on the small side , no tub, just a shower. Only issue we had was as we were on the 22nd floor, there seemed to be a water pressure issue with the shower. Nice big windows to enjoy the city lights in the evening and a view of the mountains in the distance in the morning.… Read more

Nice big windows to enjoy the city lights in the evening and a view of the mountains in the distance in the morning. Price was very reasonable. Bed was comfortable. Tim Hortons , Circle K, McDonald's and C train are within walking distance. Underground parking for $5 per night. Friendly front desk staff. Moxies restaurant on site, but did not eat there. Would stay here again next time in Calgary. Read less
