Image of the Tripadvisor rating Terrible elevators and construction

Multiple times during our stay we attempted to get the elevator from the 8th floor and after 10 minutes waiting, I went back into the room to call reception and get an elevator sent up. Staff were responsive, however elevators are a pretty crucial part of a tower.. very annoying.

This was the first hotel we stayed in when we got to Canada. We only stayed 2 nights as my husband had got tickets to the ice hockey and it was lovely. The room was recently decorated. The hotel was going through some refurbishment which would have been nice to know before hand as it did concern us when we arrived however the staff was lovely and the young girl in the bar was amazing. Really friendly and easy going. I’m trying to persuade to come back to Canada and when we do we won’t hesitate to book this hotel Read less

The hotel is outdated. The rooms are not the best but definitely not worth the money I paid. A very noisy place in the morning, so don't expect to sleep in. The park your vehicle there is $24 a day. Its not included in the price of the room and there's no place else to park. The only thing I did like about this hotel was "Moxies" off of the lobby.… Read more

I've defended this hotel due to the convenience factor and never really having any issues with outdated rooms. But I can't defend it any longer. The only thing it has going for it is the convenience of being right along the C-Train route. They're in the middle of a major renovation, but that is no excuse for having to wait 8 minutes for an elevator to never actually come to your floor... Or for not advertising that the pool and fitness room are under construction and not available. The staff was friendly and apologetic, but that doesn't help when a person waits 8 minutes for an elevator, walks down 4 floors and calls the elevator there, wait another 5 minutes, get on the elevator and select the lobby, have the elevator go to the top floor (doors didn't open), back down to the original floor (no one there), then finally to the lobby. All told, it took us 15 minutes to get from the 8th floor to the lobby in order to check out... Terrible. And apparently we've been lucky in prior bookings, because the room we recently stayed was a dump and in desperate need of an update sooner rather than later. The heater was loud, some lights didn't work, furnishing didn't match and it felt like we were in the 80's. I can say 100% we will not be back to this hotel until the renovations are complete. I don't care if the rate drops to $60/night. I'll gladly spend an extra $40-$50 to stay somewhere else downtown. Read less

I was excited to get a good rate for a downtown hotel. However, when I got to the hotel, I learned that the fitness centre and the pool were both closed down for my entire stay. Hotel should advertise when work is happening in their hotel. They were renovating their hotel and wanted to up-charge me for a newer room, which I declined, and the old… Read more

Hotel should advertise when work is happening in their hotel. They were renovating their hotel and wanted to up-charge me for a newer room, which I declined, and the old rooms were really poor. There is also a very expensive surcharge for parking. The staff was not friendly and was not accommodating for the inconvenience of amenities not being as advertised. Everything about this stay was disappointing. Would never stay here again. Read less
