The Crimson

Jasper, Alberta

The hotel

A true Rockies experience with a contemporary edge, The Crimson Jasper’s lobby greets you with artfully displayed logs and wooden skis — and naturally the odd touch of crimson inspired by the nation’s maple leaf flag and Mountie livery. Part of the fabric of Jasper, it’s only a block from downtown’s laid-back eateries and typical mountain village shops, with all the adventures of Jasper National Park in touching distance — including its snow sports thanks to the seasonal ski shuttle. You can stay active whether it’s ski season or not, with the hotel’s Peak fitness room and indoor pool, before relaxing in its hot tub. It may have Jasper’s restaurants moments away, but ‘dining in’ takes you right around the globe, with its C200 restaurant’s eclectic menu flitting from Pad Thai, to Jambalaya, to stuffed Yorkshire puddings, and to Bison Shortribs.

Stayed in this hotel four nights. Check in took a while as there was only one person on, we were upgraded to a suite because of this. Hotel is on main road through Jasper but with it been late season it was quite. Room was very spacious with a kitchen and dining area. Overall a good hotel for touring the area.

The Crimson was a great place to base our Jasper stay October 18-20-2019. We had a studio room (room 319) for $200/night. Room included keurig (with pods), mini fridge for your leftovers, sink/dish soap, plastic plates/bowls/cutlery. We had two queen beds, if you want a king, request early as they were out of those rooms upon our arrival. The room… Read more

We had two queen beds, if you want a king, request early as they were out of those rooms upon our arrival. The room was clean, fresh and updated, same as hotel. We had a balcony and were off the front of the property, overlooking the train yard (my two year old loved it), mountains and main street. The pool and hot tub in the basement were good. Nothing fancy but good. Gym has dumbbells up to 50, kettle bells, treadmill, elliptical, mats, bench, cables & pulleys. Also has an attached restaurant called Authentic Burger. The spot is a perfect base for exploring downtown Jasper, 5-10 minute walk from centre. Read less

Staff very pleasant and lobby was inviting with a large fire to greet you! Unfortunately, our room faced a parking lot with lights that shined into our bedroom-of course we drew the curtains and that made the room closed in and was very dark even with the lights on—difficult to find things in our luggage. Unfortunately, our room faced a parking lot with lights that shined into our bedroom-of course we drew the curtains and that made the room closed in and was very dark even with the lights on—difficult to find things in our luggage. We found the bed to be uncomfortable and may need to be refreshed. The restaurant in the hotel served a nice breakfast and we enjoyed it and our waitress was very pleasant. Overall ambiance of this hotel was good, but our room may need attention. Read less

When reviewing the pictures of the room on the website we expected it to be larger. We had no closet just 4 hooks for our clothes and jackets, and no chair either, these are important items when staying more than one night. When looking at the pictures we also expected a much nicer bathroom, nothing too serious except the lack of space. The room… Read more

Had a lovely room with a partial great view. Bed was very comfortable, amenities great. A good location towards the end of town. Quite near a grocery store if you want to pick up supplies. Nice, short walk to downtown Jasper. Interesting little town. Would recommend an overnight here if you are in the area.
