The Crimson

Jasper, Alberta

The hotel

A true Rockies experience with a contemporary edge, The Crimson Jasper’s lobby greets you with artfully displayed logs and wooden skis — and naturally the odd touch of crimson inspired by the nation’s maple leaf flag and Mountie livery. Part of the fabric of Jasper, it’s only a block from downtown’s laid-back eateries and typical mountain village shops, with all the adventures of Jasper National Park in touching distance — including its snow sports thanks to the seasonal ski shuttle. You can stay active whether it’s ski season or not, with the hotel’s Peak fitness room and indoor pool, before relaxing in its hot tub. It may have Jasper’s restaurants moments away, but ‘dining in’ takes you right around the globe, with its C200 restaurant’s eclectic menu flitting from Pad Thai, to Jambalaya, to stuffed Yorkshire puddings, and to Bison Shortribs.

It was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable, so that is always a plus. The only cups you could have your coffee in were paper cups, so that was strange. There were also no spoons. We had to stir our tea and coffee with a plastic straw :( There was no complimentary milk, but the store was next door. There was also no iron or ironing board, but we got them to deliver one from reception. You are in walking distance to all the stores and restaurants. Not a bad place, but nothing to write home about. Read less

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a Trailfinders package across the Rockies. Can’t complain too much about the spacious room which was reasonably equipped. If I was being picky I could point out the pillows weren’t particularly comfortable (we were probably spoilt at our previous accommodation in Banff) and on the first night the noise outside… Read more

If I was being picky I could point out the pillows weren’t particularly comfortable (we were probably spoilt at our previous accommodation in Banff) and on the first night the noise outside from what we think was the hotel aircon unit was intrusive (perhaps we just acclimatised to it by the second night?) The only eating option in the hotel is a burger restaurant which again was ok but nothing exceptional. Excellent strong WiFi signal throughout the hotel, comfortable and spacious bedroom and bathroom. Read less

Within walking distance of Jasper town centre, this place is all right for accessing supermarket, restaurants and shops. More like a motel than a hotel, as a little sprawling with the layout. The rooms are adequate sized with facilities that you would expect. Clean and well maintained. Burger place , which is part of the hotel restaurant, keep… Read more

The Crimson Hotel is within easy walking distance to downtown and several restaurants. They have a good restaurant just off the lobby that served a good breakfast buffet. Would stay at this hotel again. All the staff is very friendly and helpful.

A solid place to stay with spacious rooms. Easy to get up the hill for skiing at marmot basin. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to get to crystal clear lakes or to hit up one of the hidden gem ski resorts of Canada
