We stayed at the Fairmont’s Chateau Lake Louise for the annual Ice Magic - international ice carving - competition. We had a Gold room that overlooked the lake and it was, indeed, magical. You really should go if you can! Words can’t describe it or do it justice. As for the Fairmont, it was just as you would expect: superior service,… Read more

You really should go if you can! Words can’t describe it or do it justice. As for the Fairmont, it was just as you would expect: superior service, fantastic food, elegant and comfortable room. Take the Gold room for the extra measure of care and service as well as the incredible daily breakfast and afternoon canapes. We will always stay “Gold.” Kudos to the staff and team for making our stay memorable in every way! Read less

This is an iconic hotel in a one-of-a-kind spot. It's an impressive place. The room I had was a King non-smoking 5th floor Mt. Temple wing. The room was good. Not good for the price good but good. The linens were great, the A/C a bit annoying as it blew constantly but it did control temp well. The bed was comfy, the electronics all good and… Read more

The linens were great, the A/C a bit annoying as it blew constantly but it did control temp well. The bed was comfy, the electronics all good and an alarm clock that you could easily use :-) The staff are great - polite, respectful, go-the-last-mile. The restaurants are good too. But bring your wallet because they will clean you out. I was solo and didn't manage to have a meal at any of the open restaurants for under $70 and paid well over $100 without drinks once. I don't know that I would stay here again. Not because of any particular failing - I just don't see the value in it. Read less

Fabulous views, excellent service, food and wine to die for and lots of outside activities to keep you busy. We arrived at the end of the Ice Carving festival, so there were many amazing carvings out on display. Coupled with a multitude of outdoor activities makes this hotel one of the "go to" places on any bucket list. My only caution/downside to the visit is that the property is not very friendly for people who have mobility limitations. The shops, restaurants, activities all require a fair amount of walking between them. The most challenging hotel service to get to was the swimming pool which requires you to negotiate 3 flights of stairs to get down from the access door to pool side. The hotel does have a number of ramps to access the main areas but it is something to keep in mind. That being said, our visit was still a great way to spend our holiday. Read less

We also ate breakfast there. On our second morning we enquired about getting the shuttle to Lake Moraine. As we were gold floor guests, the shuttle was free. No one else was taking this shuttle so we had a private trip there & back. (Lake Moraine is definitely worth going to & hiring a kayak.) The main floor of the hotel gets very busy with non residents but in the evening it quietens down. It was nice having a lake view room but in truth I don’t actually think it is necessary to pay extra for one. The windows in our room were fairly small & we probably were not too conscious of the view unless we stood at the window! We were able to appreciate the view to the max in the main lounge of the hotel. An enjoyable stay. Read less

The Fairmont Lake Louise is an AMAZING hotel, and most importantly they get guest service. We have stayed at various 5 star hotels over the years but nothing comes close to this hotel as far as service. The rooms in the Mount Temple wing are larger and whilst we were told the view wasn't much when we booked - you still have an amazing view over the mountains. Over the Christmas/NY period they had plenty of activities organised that kept our whole family entertained (kids hang out room of an evening, Bavarian curling, snow shoeing, sledding etc). The restaurant service was always amazing and on the one occasion we had an issue the manager had everything fixed in an instant. If your looking to do some outdoor activities - Mike in the guides area is fantastic and a wealth of knowledge about everything in the area. The concierge team are amazing at reaching out before your visit to ensure you have restaurant bookings and activities taken care of before arriving - but a major call out to Manny in the concierge team who went ABOVE and BEYOND for us after our dog sledding was cancelled. The hotel itself is without fault and it is the perfect place to experience a white christmas. The only downside would be the congestion on the roads up to the hotel and outside on the lake with sooooo many tourists and they do spill into the hotel crowding things a bit. Read less
