The hotel and setting is amazing but our very expensive suite in the Gatehouse was dark and had no privacy. It was partially below ground level and directly facing a walkway, driveway and entrance on two sides. Avoid 1430 at all costs!

Nice hotel, beautiful location. Wife went down with a stomach bug after the 1st day, eventually all 4 of our party went down with it which caused us to lose 4 of our 6 days planned sightseeing.. Found out eventually there were 150 cases, including hotel kitchen staff where it probably emanated from. Were told not to come out of our room and they… Read more

Found out eventually there were 150 cases, including hotel kitchen staff where it probably emanated from. Were told not to come out of our room and they left room service and change of towels, etc outside the door. Rather than deal with the situation openly and keep guests advised/updated they tried to suppress it, and not very well. Felt like we were on a cheap cruise stuck in Mexico rather than a 4-5 star hotel. On the day we left noticed hand sanitizer stations popping up all over the hotel, which was the only sign the hotel had an interest. Read less

What else can I add than what everyone has said. If you are travelling to Banff, this is the hotel to stay at. Lots of history, personality and ambiance. Very few hotels offer this now. Don’t miss the extensive buffet breakfast or brunch.

The hotel is great, and well located. Rooms are comfortable, the only issue was we got a handicap room, which we do not mind, but in the shower there was no shelf to put your soap and shampoo on. We had to put them on the floor,, someone overlook this. I would have given them a 5 star, but at the Chop restaurant our service was poor. The next… Read more

The next morning, for the buffet breakfast, at the egg counter, my cook had egg shells in my eggs and was trying to remove it with his fingers!!! yes he actually tried with the spatula then tried with his fingernails!! I had to tell him that I did not want those eggs and redo them. Besides this the hotel is great, you will not regret staying here. Read less

Help did not come until 23:45 after 4 calls. The plumber came with a black.face and splashed water everywhere which I had to clean up after he left. Every call was listening to several.minuyes of music. The last call I.asked for speaking to the manager. Even the manager returning call I had to.listen to 5 minutes of music before he was on the line. The whole experience was distressing. I was also angry considering the hotel rates. Even asking for a box of tissue through housekeeping failed us. The tissue never arrived. If I could give a negative rating, I would. Read less
