If only once, you must experience Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. It was one of the most beautiful experiences, especially to wake up with a view of Lake Louise and the mountains. Breakfast was delicious. Just do it! The walk along the lake shore was tremendous as well. If our time on this earth allows, we will return at some point.

We spent 3 nights here and once we got moved to the lakeview room, everything was magical. There are several amazing employees we encountered that made our stay extra special. Maiya in the spa was sublime. Do not miss the chance to visit her for a treatment. I had the seasonal special the day I checked in and it definitely left me in a fabulous state of mind for the rest of my trip. Once we saw t he beautiful lake we knew we needed to move across the hall and the wonderful Rhianni at the front desk helped us make that happen. We ate at almost every restaurant on property and highly recommend the fondue at Walliser Stub. Thao was our waitperson and she was also extremely courteous and helpful. Finally we took the late afternoon Voyageur Canoe trip with Ross as our guide and he made the last night of our trip perfect. We learned a great deal from him and we got to paddle to the far shore of the lake and back again. Overall we loved our lake view junior suite. The room was a nice size with a small sitting area. The bathroom was also nicely equipped with plenty of counter space and under counter storage. If there was any part that was less than stellar it was our tea at the Fairview. They charge quite the premium for a small amount of food and we were seated at a table with a view that was entirely blocked by a wall. My husband felt strongly that the hotel got a tad greedy there by squeezing too many tables into the space which was unreasonable for the charge. We had the buffet breakfast 2 mornings and room service the last day and enjoyed the room service smoothie the best. It was delish. Read less

Unlike my other reviews, I will start with the summary, so even if you don't read the whole review you know exactly what I want to convey: This is the most beautiful (like I said in the title, unrealistically stunning) view of mountains and the emerald blue Lake Louise. If you are staying at Lake Louise, it has to be this place. Property: While the highlight is the view, the property is an architectural marvel; it's like stepping into some historic majestic palace. Everything here is grand and classy. We were torn between the two decisions whether we should stay indoors and enjoy the property or step out and experience the painting-like landscapes. I wish we had stayed longer to get enough of both (believe me, you will never feel it’s enough). Food: While all the restaurants serve delicious food, our favourite was the Lake View Lounge, because of the view of course. It was the beginning of summer, so we could sit outside on the patio (blankets provided by the restaurant kept us warm too). Spa: Again something you must experience if you have time. Very relaxing and royal. Staff and services: We had a pretty smooth stay; the staff was polite and helpful. Parking: Ample parking space, there is valet parking too (if you arrive post 9pm, you’ll have to self-park). Not to miss: The view of course, which you can’t miss anyways. In addition, in the evening they arrange for outdoor electric fireplaces facing the lake - a perfect place to sit with a hot cup of coffee (or whatever you like to drink :) ) and unwind. Also, don't miss going on a walking trail that takes you to the other side of the lake where there is a small plain. It's a simple trail, takes around 25-30 mins one way. It is a beautiful walk, loads of picture opportunities, especially from where you can see entire Fairmont Chateau on the lakeside. There are other walking trails too of different difficulty levels; hotel staff can guide you on that. They also provide their own guides in case you need. We were fine with the map that they provided, you can’t get lost as the walk is along the lake. This is an avalanche area so just be little vigilant while walking. What else is around: Lake Louise Gondola, Lake Moraine (must visit), market area on the riverside - everything is 10-20 minutes driving distance from Fairmont. While I’m just back from my Canadian Rockies trip, I’m already planning my next one. And Fairmont is top on my list, this time for more days. Read less

We were very disappointed with our afternoon experience. The attention to detail just wasn't there and certainly did not reflect the Fairmont reputation nor experiences of other Fairmont establishments. Server was polite but quite robotic. We were very disappointed with our afternoon experience. The attention to detail just wasn't there and certainly did not reflect the Fairmont reputation nor experiences of other Fairmont establishments. Server was polite but quite robotic. Spilt drink over our cutlery. That's fine, mistakes happen and she was apologetic. But she never came back to clear up so we had to do it ourselves. When asking for the bill our server failed to tell us there was a dessert buffet included. We found this out afterwards. So we paid and yet missed out on an entire course. Read less

Lovely comfortable beds & linen. Difficulty climbing into bath to shower, felt dangerous as no handrail. Very large & busy hotel felt too impersonal. Evening (group booking) meal was very average, not enjoyed by the majority of the group. Breakfast however was very nice. Nice to visit & see this hotel but not worth the $$$$. Read less
