The hotel

In mid Montreal’s entertainment quarter, this elegant hotel is filled with treats to distract you from its enticing urban surroundings. Dip in its indoor pool – a glorious sunken space flooded with light from the glazed ceiling and steps from an al fresco ‘terrace with a view’. There’s a second terrace at Bivouac, serving up views over Quartier des Spectacles. Of course, it’s the location you came for – and Doubletree by Hilton Montreal delivers it. Connected to Complexe Desjardins, it gives almost instant access to more than 100 shops and eateries, and to a subway station for city sightseeing. You can even head out for a run along Mount Royal or Canal Lachine.

Location-convenient and within walking distance to the most popular neighborhoods. Hotel-massive. Elevators were always packed. It was clean and the rooms were typical for rooms with 2 double beds. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast buffet had every option you could imagine. It was always busy with patrons. Service-on site, helpful and accommodating. My 2 star review is because after the first night, my husband and I decided we would be more comfortable with an additional connecting room for our 2 young boys to share. I spoke with the hotel desk and asked if I could book another room that would be connecting and he told me “yes”. We discussed it was less expensive through Expedia so he told me to book through them and get the connecting room upon check in later that afternoon. Later, we checked out of the original room and received 2 key cards for the new rooms. We went to the rooms and they were across the hall and not connecting. I went back to the desk and was told connecting rooms weren’t available. I asked to cancel the room and was told to cancel through Expedia first, which I did, and I would not be charged. During our stay, I noticed the charge “pending” on my credit card and repeatedly inquired if I would be charged and was told “no” each time. After we returned home, not only was I charged for the room but I was charged for parking. We self parked in the garage connected to the building so I don’t even know where that came from. I’ve been trying to resolve this since August to no avail. It has been the most frustrating hotel experience I have ever had. Sadly, it overshadows all of the really great things the hotel has to offer. Read less

Excellent location, beautiful premises, spacious room with nice view. Very comfortable bed/ mattress, could easily sleep all day. Impressive variety in breakfast. Very polite and helpful staff in anything we needed. Housekeeping, although very good, has space for improvement.
