InterContinental Montreal

Montreal, Canada

The hotel

Having recently been the proud recipient of a ‘Best Renovations’ award, the Intercontinental Montréal offers luxury accommodation in one of the city’s most sought after locations. Combining the exclusivity of a boutique hotel with top-tier service, guests are most certainly in for a treat when staying here, relaxing in rooms that are sumptuously furnished with plenty of space to stretch out in. On the 10th floor is the fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment and aerobic classes. Alternatively, head to the indoor pool to swim a few laps or chill out in the spa tub. Osco! means ‘bravo!’, a sentiment you’ll heartily agree with at the Intercontinental’s signature restaurant, a Province-inspired brasserie with an ever-changing menu. There’s also the Sarah B Bar, named after Sarah Bernhardt, the queen of the French Tragedy, whose spirit is said to wander the vaults of the hotel — so keep your eyes peeled! At ‘green hour’, Absinthe is served. Known as the ‘green fairy’ it was said to enhance the creative energies of the great 19th century European writers and artists, including Sarah Bernhardt, but beware, at 55–75% proof, it’s not a tipple for the faint hearted!

Took my kids and granddaughter to Montreal for the weekend. This hotel met all of our needs. Comfy beds spacious room. Excellent location so close to everything we needed. Walking to Old Montreal and the city. Covid prevents using the pool without reservation but that worked out had 30 mins of pool all by ourselves. Would come back for sure

Stayed at the Intercontinental July 2 - 4th. While the room had what you needed, we seemed to have been missing room service menu and a couple of the door stoppers were visibly broken - this was of course OK but something just to include. Beds and pillows were amazing! Quite comfortable. Wifi was good in the room, no issues there. Cable in the room with great options. Check-in was great, the gentleman at the desk was quite helpful and kind. Check-out was quick and painless. There wasn't a front door representative to help direct us to the front desk. Where the hotel lacked was elevators. For such a large hotel, there were only 3 elevators and at times only 1 was in operation. Very long waits and annoyed guests - this caused the elevators to be overly cramped (opposite of COVID protocols lol). Using the amenities was poorly planned. On paper, it was a great system, register at the floor 10 health spa to use the amenities (gym and pool). The representative there advised us that there is a limit of 3 people in the gym at a time. Arrived to the gym at our allotted and time, no representative insight and the gym had TEN people in there. No paper towels to use on the equipment after use and just so poorly organized. The hotel could definitely use more signage on how to get to the parking area from inside - we spent quite some time trying to navigate our way in. Considering safety is a top priority to so many, the lack of organization and control in the gym was so disappointing. Read less

Also had dinner Osco restaurant which was amazing as well. Everything was wonderful. This hotel has perfect location very close to downtown and old Montreal Our room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff (Marco) was very helpful I was surprised he remembered my name at the time of check out. Kudos to him. The reason for 4 stars is no one from housekeeping cleaned the room or the floor. I don’t think hotel was ready to get busy, they seemed to be understaffed… which I understand considering the current circumstances nobody knows how best can you plan. With all that being said I will highly recommend this place and in future when I plan to go back to Montreal I will try and stay here Read less

Loved the room we got for a very affordable price. We booked a standard room, but got a corner room instead with a city view. Room is spacious, beautifully decorated (traditional luxury) and well appointed. Bathroom was spacious too with a separate shower area. Sleep was quiet no noise at all since all rooms are above 10th floor anyways. Bed was firm and comfortable with quality sheets. There was a sofa and table with a desk so we easily ate in the room as restaurants was not opened yet...but soon... Pool is small, mainly a lap pool that has 2 lanes. Not kid friendly nor good for just lounging. However, from the pool you can access a rooftop terrace that had lounge chair and city view. Service was good, but our interactions were minimal as we didn’t need anything. We were able to find free street parking right beside the hotel. Read less
