Having recently been the proud recipient of a ‘Best Renovations’ award, the Intercontinental Montréal offers luxury accommodation in one of the city’s most sought after locations. Combining the exclusivity of a boutique hotel with top-tier service, guests are most certainly in for a treat when staying here, relaxing in rooms that are sumptuously furnished with plenty of space to stretch out in. On the 10th floor is the fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment and aerobic classes. Alternatively, head to the indoor pool to swim a few laps or chill out in the spa tub. Osco! means ‘bravo!’, a sentiment you’ll heartily agree with at the Intercontinental’s signature restaurant, a Province-inspired brasserie with an ever-changing menu. There’s also the Sarah B Bar, named after Sarah Bernhardt, the queen of the French Tragedy, whose spirit is said to wander the vaults of the hotel — so keep your eyes peeled! At ‘green hour’, Absinthe is served. Known as the ‘green fairy’ it was said to enhance the creative energies of the great 19th century European writers and artists, including Sarah Bernhardt, but beware, at 55–75% proof, it’s not a tipple for the faint hearted!

357 rooms on 26 floors. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV with premium channels and pay-per-view films, telephone, WiFi access, mini-bar*, tea/coffee maker, safe, bathrobes and iron and board. Deluxe Irresistible Room with king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

The pool is open during summer only and most welcome for cooling dips inbetween sightseeing.

I prefer to book with hotels directly whenever I can, but most never want to offer the rates they allow the 3 parties to sell their rooms at, thus leaving me to book on 3rd party websites ......and they pay commission on my reservation..... am I missing something? best rate guarantee?? Guess I dont need my IHG loyalty account...C'est la vie. My hotel was from the "HotBuy" with discounted rate was the Intercontinental in Old Montreal..... Perfect, my favourite part of the city. On my arrival date, I arrived early evening, very quiet as expected - with one other guest infront of me checking in. He was being assisted by an agent, while the blonde female agent at the other end of the desk looked up and saw me then put her head back down, to continue her work I guess. Thank you for ignoring my presence.... As the lobby was quiet, I wondered around until the male agent was finished with his guest, then he checked me in. Thank You Jean Claude for the informative and seamless check in experience handled by yourself. Now I feel better. As it is COVID, there isn't housekeeping service unless you request it with a 4hour service window, Room service only avail 7am-3pm (I thought this was highly irregular and odd as most would want to eat in the evening, especially with the mandatory 8pm curfew).but I guess most guests opt for Ubereats. My room was beautiful on the 22nd floor to what appeared to be an upgraded room.....I overheard others checking with prepaid rates during my stay, so I assume many booked the same way and the hotel allocated the higher floors for control. Pool/Fitness was closed as expected, and grab and go items were stationed in lobby to be charged to your room. Additional housekeeping supplies could be picked up at the front desk. Overall my say was comfortable, but not every restful as I found housekeeping staff to be loud with doors slamming, vacuums banging off of baseboards and general cleaning noise during the day .... also with it being Montreal's March Break, kids running around in the rooms and having fun....So I spent most of my time exploring the city in -16c weather. By advice to the hotel would be to perhaps have families on different floors than couple/solo travellers but not a big deal...and perhaps offer a discount on Room service and grab and go orders to encourage guests to spend money at the property as opposed to pushing them to spend at outside companies such as Uber and DoorDash. A 5$ delivery charge plus 15% delivery fees is automatically added to orders, which is fine as I hope it go straight to the staff. Thank you InterCon for the stay, and stay safe! Read less

Wow...we stayed here two weekends in a row the service is so good. From check in to check out the staff is fantastic! If you want free bottled water, coffee, any additional hotel amenities they will have it for you here. The best are so comfortable and the views on either the city or river side are breathtaking! We stayed here during Covid with the family. Overall good, similar to any Intercontinental you’d stay in. Good service, nice rooms. Hotel was empty because of the pandemic, but other than that we enjoyed our stay there. Close to the old port of Montréal!

I stay at this hotel several times every years and I always been more then satisfy of everything it's offers, great restaurant, great staff, spacious rooms, very comfortable beds and good internet connection. Great location for business.

I was originally very pleased with the property and staff alike when my boyfriend and I stay here over the Valentine's/Family Day long weekend. The hotel bar was absolutely fantastic, food there was delicious and everyone seemed to wholeheartedly care about delivering us a great warm experience. Our room was OK... I expected it to be more updated given the price we paid (would opt for a more boutique style hotel for our next trip). I use the safe to store my YSL purse and closet for clothes etc as it seemed appropriate. Not once did we have our room serviced by the cleaning staff and had even left a $10 trip on our way out along with leftover liquor in the fridge. Additionally, we had even paid to have a late check-out. We drove the 6+ hours back home to Toronto. I was getting ready for an event almost 2 weeks later when I realized I left my YSL bag in the safe. I immediately contacted the hotel to speak with some "Manager" who was less then helpful. I asked if any of the hotel cleaning staff had reported anything leaving all details including the fact that it was still in a black dust bag, black YSL bag with gold details. I was told NO ONE reported anything found in our room, I was LESS then impressed with this given the fact that this hotel prides itself on providing elevated HONEST services. Not to mention, the Hotel should have contacted me FIRST once the item was found in the room. I work in the service industry and understand how it can be sometimes, however regardless of how I personally feel about a particular situation I still handle it with pose, compassion and empathy. At the time I spoke with the Manager I had even asked that he speak with the cleaning staff now to advise them that the customer did in fact call looking for her purse, and perhaps speaking about it and bringing it to everyone's attention - it would "magically appear" in the lost and found or in Management's hands to be return to me. I kindly asked for a follow-up and unfortunately have not heard back from ANYONE there. This was beyond disappointing and left me feeling extremely cautious to stay at ANY IHG location wherever I may be travelling. They state in their About Us " At IHG, we’re committed to delivering True Hospitality for everyone. We believe in making you feel welcome and valued, wherever you are in the world. That’s because we truly care about people and the communities we serve, and because we pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of service." This WAS SO FAR from the truth.
