InterContinental Montreal

Montreal, Canada

The hotel

Having recently been the proud recipient of a ‘Best Renovations’ award, the Intercontinental Montréal offers luxury accommodation in one of the city’s most sought after locations. Combining the exclusivity of a boutique hotel with top-tier service, guests are most certainly in for a treat when staying here, relaxing in rooms that are sumptuously furnished with plenty of space to stretch out in. On the 10th floor is the fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment and aerobic classes. Alternatively, head to the indoor pool to swim a few laps or chill out in the spa tub. Osco! means ‘bravo!’, a sentiment you’ll heartily agree with at the Intercontinental’s signature restaurant, a Province-inspired brasserie with an ever-changing menu. There’s also the Sarah B Bar, named after Sarah Bernhardt, the queen of the French Tragedy, whose spirit is said to wander the vaults of the hotel — so keep your eyes peeled! At ‘green hour’, Absinthe is served. Known as the ‘green fairy’ it was said to enhance the creative energies of the great 19th century European writers and artists, including Sarah Bernhardt, but beware, at 55–75% proof, it’s not a tipple for the faint hearted!

Unique hotel, comfortable room, perfect location, friendly, professional staff. Connected to underground network and shopping which is awesome in middle of winter. Parking was easy (you have a choice to valet or self park. We self parked which is about $10 less per day). From check in to check out it was a wonderful experience and weekend getaway. Read less

Booked the day of my stay, through Hotwire. Checked in and went up to room which ended up being a suite. This was a very pleasant surprise as there was no mention of this through Hotwire, or the front desk. I wish I had been there for more than just the one night. accross the street fromt the autoshow with underground tunel to stay warm. Nice clean hotel, quiet attached to a indoor market and bar. Underground parking was $25.00 with easy access to the hotel all indoor.

Valet was not always there , did not offer to help with bags. The shower did not seem very clean. Hair dryer was a very poor quality, and this is critical in the Montreal cold for us with hair that needs drying!

The Intercontinental isn’t the newest hotel in Montreal, but it’s clean and comfortable. Large rooms, easy underground access to much of downtown, great service, a nice lounge, a good restaurant (Osco), nice fitness facility — generally a very pleasant experience.
