Very comfortable stay for a 4 night business trip. Best shower I’ve ever had. Rooms are a good size and modern due to the recent renovation. Nice and close to the Central Station if you are taking the train in to Montreal. Probably about a 5 minute walk. Lots of Bixi bike availability nearby as well. Super close to rue Sainte Catherine for shopping. Tons of places nearby to eat well. Would stay again! Read less

The restaurant staff were incredible at breakfast which wqs short staffed due to a workers strike. They could not have been more professional. Will definitely stay again on our next trip. Read less

This stay has to be one of the most awful experiences we’ve ever had at a hotel in our entire lives. When we arrived, and got into our room (which was a suite, by the way), the interior was cold, and the thermostat was quickly adjusted in order to allow things to warm up. However, the air conditioner never went off and kept blowing full force out of the vent and there was no way to stop it. We called the front desk and they sent up maintenance. The maintenance man, who spoke almost no English, stated that he would just turn off the air conditioning system and wait until morning for his supervisor to arrive so that it could be fixed. However, at 9 AM the following morning, the entire staff of the hotel went on strike (and the maintenance man had to know this when he chose not to fix our A/C but instead turn it off), and our air conditioner was still not functional. Because of this, as the day went on, the interior of the hotel room got to be quite hot and there was no way to cool it down and no one that we could call in order to help us. They did offer to bring space heaters and blankets for the night should it get too cold, but we aren’t camping in the woods, we are staying in a suite in an expensive hotel. For $900 per night, we expect much, MUCH more than this. Also, our suite came with access to the M lounge. However, due to the strike, all services in the lounge were shut down. Part of the reason that we chose this hotel, was because one member of our party has difficulty, going anywhere far away from the hotel room to eat due to health issues. This hotel had two restaurants within it. however, due to the strike, one restaurant was completely shut down, and the other one was only opened for a limited menu during limited hours. Not to mention the fact that room service was completely shut down due to the strike so that no food could be ordered in the room. We had already attempted to use the room service function at this hotel the night the air conditioner went out. The staff who took the order were rude, told us that we should’ve used the online app instead of calling, and then proceeded to get nearly the entire order wrong. On top of that, there were no warming covers placed on the food and so by the time the correct order arrived, it was ice, cold, and tasteless. This left us at a hotel with no food, no service and no climate control. Again, we got the feeling that the workers knew they were going on strike the next day and just gave up on caring about the guest experience. Additionally, the hotel had made the decision to shut the power off to the hotel for approximately one hour for elevator maintenance on the day of the strike. Not only did this cut our day out short out in the city, as we were afraid that we might not get back into our hotel room if the power didn’t come on in time, but why would someone choose to turn the power off at 2:30 in the afternoon stranding people either outside of their rooms or inside of them and not at night or early morning when people were in their rooms sleeping? Because of all of this, we were forced to change our flight to leave the very day after we arrived wasting not only our vacation but upwards of $2,500 in flight costs. Such a waste! While, we don’t fully blame Marriott for striking workers, we do blame them for leaving us to basically fend for ourselves with no contingency plan. We will never stay at a Marriott hotel in Canada ever again twice about staying at a Marriott hotel in the United States, which is our home country. The icing on the cake is that all of the workers who were on strike set up tents in the park across from the hotel and played loud music and loud horns like you would find at a sports game and had dance party whose purpose seemed aimed at disrupting the guests. When we checked out, we were only offered a small discount on our room rates but only after we argued about it. The remaining staff initially expected us to pay the full rate for basically a room with no A/C, no food, nor electricity for part of the day and no staff to do anything to help us. What a poor reflection on Marriott. Read less

It was awful, we got there and everything seemed ok, just a regular marriot. The staff went on strike which is fine and they are allowed to do that but that meant we got no service no cleaning no water nothing. I would have thought they at least had a contingency plan for it. The manager was rude and didn't answer the phone. 6 days later sitting… Read more

Well located within walking distance of the city center and old Montreal. The rooms are renovated, well designed and very comfortable. Although the bathrooms were a bit small which is not big problem. We did enjoy the large arch windows which bring in good light and give a wonderful view the city. The staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic. One minor draw back was that parking for larger vehicles can be difficult and on the high side. Overall good hotel and will probably stay there on our next visit. Read less
