Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Suites

The hotel

Everyone knows ‘waterfall views’ top the hotel wish list for every Niagara visitor. And that’s exactly what Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Suites delivers. In fact, TripAdvisor voted it in the Top 10 Hotel Rooms Views in the World. But it’s The Watermark Restaurant on the 33rd floor that really provides the photo ops: with its multi-level seating and floor-to-ceiling windows forcing the farm-to-fork menu to take second stage. One floor up and the rooftop Myst Lounge throws in extra selfie spots — and cocktails. Once you’ve had your fill of the falls, you can head to the adjoining Fallsview Casino; the hotel’s chill-out pool with its spiralling waterslide, hot tub, and sauna; or its other dining venues, from an all-you-can eat Brazilian ‘churrascaria’ steakhouse to an all-you-can-eat Southern-style barbecue smokehouse.

On set menu, half of the mains have extra charge. Breakfast at Watermark- shocked by very slow service and unprofessional server Janice. She was rude to other customers, complained repeatedly to us about other customers and then was snippy with her colleagues. Hopefully just an off day. View was gorgeous from our room and the watermark restaurant. The room was decent. Read less

They did not indicate in their website these towers have "centralized heatinc" with no individual room thermostat nor were we informed upon check-in. Who wants that temperature, it was not snowing nor was it even negative temperatures. We complained and ofcourse, there's nothing they could do. I confronted them with everything I could but they only apologized and couldn't care beyond that. I guess we weren't important enough. I don't understand the good reviews for this hotel at this season, perhaps they come from the north tower. We asked a refund and transferred to Radisson which luckily had a vacant room at 12 midnight and individual air-conditioning. Read less

The staff hilton were professional and accommodating as we were travelling with a baby. They were able to give us a room with pull out couch. The front desk managers Sharmaine and Christine did a great job addressing our concerns regarding the noise on the floor. Room had amazing view. The breakfast was also good. Would definately come back!

The room had a beautiful clear view of the US falls and a side view of the Canadian falls. It was truly gorgeous. The room had two separate rooms with a king bed in each. The room with the view included a queen pull out couch that wasn't the most comfortable but suited our needs. The bathroom had a separate area for the shower and toilet and for the sink and bathtub, which worked perfectly for our big group. Housekeeping replaced towels, toiletries, and picked up towels on a daily basis which was great. The only complaint was that during check out times it took 10+ minutes to catch an elevator even though there were about 5 elevators working at a time. It was a minor inconvenience but an inconvenience none the less. Read less

So, you can't control the weather and that played a part in what turned out to be a rather disappointing weekend. This was a trip for my Mother. She has some mobility challenges. Good news, her wheelchair fit in the door to our room. Housekeeping was able to provide a shower chair for the shower (I forgot to bring one from home). We reserved a 2 bedroom US falls view suite. It was smaller than I pictured. One enters into a small room with a King Bed and the closet, dresser and TV then pass thru into a hallway with a coffe maker, sink, small fridge on one side and the door into the bathroom on the other side. Hallway leads to the main bedroom with a King bed and a seating area with a pull out couch coffe table, desk, Entertainment center with TV, Electric fireplace, storage draws. (no closet on this side). There is a floor to ceiling window with what I'm sure is a lovely view of the falls. The fog was so think we jokingly called it our Fogview room. Bathroom has a large jetted tub and sink, off to the side closed off with a pocket door is a water closet with toilet and walk in shower. No complaints so far. We arrived about 10pm. I knew going in that parking was expensive, but UGH Parking is EXPENSIVE. $100 CAD/night valet, $80 CAD/night self park, $50 CAD/night uncovered parking. We parked in an accessible spot in the garage for $80. The parking staff are fabulouse. Very friendly. Very helpful. The room was ready on arrival. We prepaid for the room in advance because it was booked just a couple of weeks out and this non-refundable rate required full payment. The front desk person tried to say we owed more on the room and that required a little back and forth but was eventually straighted out. Took the North Elevators up to the 18th floor to drop the bags then went out looking for dinner. Ended up at the casino in the sportsbar. Not great, but not bad. Very friendly waitstaff. It was late and we were too tired to play after the long drive so wandered back to the hotel and went to bed. The hotel is in a great location. Very walkable. Loads of restaurants, just up the hill from the falls, across the street with and enclosed walkway to the casino. We did breakfast next door at IHOP then got directions to Niagra on the Lake. Nice drive, would be beautiful earlier in the year. Still nice even on the cold, wet day. Niagra on the Lake is a pretty little town, lovely picturesque main shopping district. Would have been fun to sit outside with a coffee (or icecream) and people watch in better weather. Got back to the hotel mid afternoon. Site seeing, Casino, tourist fun. Went to the Brazillian Steak house in the hotel for dinner. Excellent dinner. Very good staff. Quite friendly. A little pricy, but hey, vacation! Top sirlion was excellent, Bottom sirlion(?) also very good. Mum and Dad liked the sausage. Good selection on the buffet. Plantains were tasty. Went up the room and changed after dinner then headed to the pool. Or rather pools. The entrance is on the 17th floor. There is stairway downstairs to the kiddie pool. Not as deep had splash pad features, benches around the walls down there. I didn't venture down. Elevator between pool floors was out of service. 17th floor pool is an infinity pool next to the floor to ceiling windown. There are a limited amount of tables and chairs by the upstairs pool as well as bins for fresh towel and used towels. Hugely disappointed there are no stairs into the pool. Just ladder wrung cut outs in the side of the pool. Mum could not use the pool, I did not use the pool because my knee was acting up and I wasn't sure I could haul myseft up "ladder" to get out. Hot tub was not very hot and got quite crowded with youngesters at times. Lots a kids upstairs in the infinity pool, not many downstairs in the kids pool. But they looked like they were having fun. (too much fun a few cases, the folk taking care of the pool area kept having to ask several of the kiddos to get out of the overflow trough of the infinity pool as they were jumping down next to the window to splash around there). Headed back to the room after soaking in the hot-ish tub. Went to bed around 11pm. Elevators Saturday night were always crowded and very, very slow. We arrived too late Friday night we didn't have much issues with crowds in and around the elevators but goodness, they were crazy Saturday. We left early enough Sunday morning it was not an issue (long ride home). Overall it was an OK stay. The staff, by and large, were very friendly and helpful. The location was great. The amenities were kind of disappointing. Fog did lift a little Sunday morning before we left and we got a see a better (if still gray) falls view from the room. My pictures look like I was using black and white film. Read less
