We decided to plan a mini vacation to Niagara Falls to celebrate my husband's birthday. I wanted to make it special so booked a Superior room at this hotel. I even decided to book through the hotel directly (vs using a discount site) knowing I was paying more by doing it that way because I thought it would ensure better service overall. I was SO WRONG. If you decide to book with them, find the cheapest option as really, the only good thing about this hotel is the room itself. The room was what I expected. Renovated, King size bed, whirlpool, high floor and great view. And that is where the positive experience stopped. The poor service started immediately at check in. It was CHAOS at the front desk and while the receptionist who greeted me was friendly, she spoke so quietly that I was struggling to hear. I also had let her know I was choosing the self parking option and had to ask where to go for that and I did ask if she needed my car license plate number. I was told no - and given a hand drawn map to the lot. The map was wrong. We parked at what turned out to be the wrong lot, unloaded our car, and then we were told that we were in the wrong place. Had to repack the car and drive the actual lot only to find we needed a tag displayed. So then we had to drive back to the hotel (because the self parking lot is a few blocks away) to figure out how to get this tag to display. This required standing in another epically long line at reception only to be told we get the tag from the valet attendant. Also when we checked in, reception told us that there was no housekeeping coming to the room because of COVID and we should call if we needed any service. We were totally fine with that but then - early morning the next day, while laying in bed, room service tries to enter. I mean, WTF?! I we had thought they were coming, we would have put the privacy sign on the door. There is also a destination fee that you pay for each night you stay. They say this fee covers the wifi and it gives you some coupons for free tastings, etc. One of the 'perks' is a free WeGo pass for the local transit. Great. Except good luck getting it as you have to go to front desk and every time we tried, it was such a long wait, we gave up. Why not just give the pass at check in rather than making us come back with the coupon and wait in a super long line? The one time we tried to take advantage of the lounge, there was no staff and quite frankly it felt abandoned. And finally, we wanted to indulge in breakfast in bed on our last morning. We called room service the evening before to see if we could pre-order and we were told no and to just call in the morning. We tried to call them for 1 HOUR and no one ever picked up. We finally gave up and decided to just check out and find breakfast on our way home. For the amount of money I paid for the room, we would have loved to have been able to have one last nice meal overlooking the falls but it was not to be. Overall, so disappointed with the service. It also reconfirmed our preference for using Airbnb's instead of hotels. I will never return. I hope this review ensures no one else pays as much as I did for such a lacklustre experience. Read less

I booked this hotel mid April for a trip October 22nd. When I spoke with booking I asked for a room with two bedrooms and a living room. I was assured that was the room we would get. The front desk did not try and offer any help. I asked to speak to the manager, but he couldn't help either. I called Marriott Bonvoy. The lady Drema there was very nice, she was able to help and get us two separate rooms. Read less

This is an expensive hotel and restaurant and you (mostly) get what you pay for. The view is the thing, and the hotel does deliver, and the restaurant is good too, but not 5-star for-the-price great. No matter what you are doing or want, there will be a price for it and it'll cost you. Everything was great though.

I stayed there for 2 nights and as soon as I walked in, I noticed the lack of customer service. I stayed there for 2 nights and as soon as I walked in, I noticed the lack of customer service. The front desk staff asked if I was parking and I said no, he grabbed my card and ran and came back with a keycard and threw it at me without a word. The room ended up being the wrong room- it didn’t have a bath. I came back and they said there was no guarantee for a bath despite it being right there in my booking and the reason I was paying so much. They said they would “upgrade” me to a room with a bath with jets at a cost. Again, the bath was ALREADY supposed to be in my booking. I get to the room and there’s a tiny bath. Absolutely no jets in sight. I called customer service at headquarters to complain and they said they would “try” to remove the fee and when I said, there’s no “try” about it and they had to.. the staff reluctantly agreed. In that same call, my sister requested a birthday gift for me as that was the whole reason for my stay. They said they couldn’t provide the cake and wine and whatnot on such short notice. They had a whole day? To bring up a slice of cake? How is that difficult? I had requested this for a friend on the same day at another hotel and had no problems. Checkout day comes (yesterday) and they said they would charge my card and that’s all, I could go. I asked how much it was first because I had a hunch they’d mess something up. Turns out they tried charging me $130 extra. The reason? Parking and that same fee that was meant to be waived. $620 when it was meant to be $490. Remember when the rude front desk guy asked if I was parking and I said no, well they totally ignored that and added the fee anyway! I called for the manager. They said they would remove the extra fees and brought the fee back to what my booking stated originally. I still wasn’t happy. I told him my experience with the rude staff, getting the wrong room and then being told I had to pay to “uprgrade” to my rightful room. Then being promised a bath with jets and getting a normal one. And all of the calling I had to do to fix these issues on my vacation and birthday… and you know what he said? He said “there’s nothing I can do” because in his words, they “rectified the situation immediately”. They didn’t rectify anything. I had to call customer service headquarters to complain about the fee for the bath. Meanwhile the front desk said I HAD to pay. I rectified the situation myself. With all of the extra ridiculous fees like “resort” fees and whatnot for such a mediocre room and service, you’d think he’d remove one fee as a courtesy. Or give me a voucher or something. He was totally abrupt and unhelpful. I said I was very unhappy with my stay and he was aloof. I asked his name so I could share in a review and he gave it to me with a snarky and uncaring confidence. Anyways his name is Anurag Singh. His business card is attached which he handed over gladly If you read all this, I will give you one last advice. The view was absolutely beautiful and it was so close to the falls. But don’t expect any amenities that you booked, your room to be ready, courteous staff and expect they will charge fees so ask for a breakdown of fees when you’re checking out! Read less

Honestly if it wasnt for the view, we wouldnt come back to this hotel. Check in was an absolute nightmare. I understand its stressful at the desk but we found them to be very rude. No apologies for several mistakes they made. We paid for the 2 rooms online, did online check in. When we got to the desk they didnt know who we were. Yhey tried charging us for 2 rooms WE ALREADY PAID FOR!!!! Didnt get our room until after 5pm. The day we were checking out we noticed ADDITINAL CHARGES - SUCH AS A PARKING CHARGE- WE NEVER PARKED THERE!!!! They removed the extra charges, but please be weary of them charging up your card. I did enjoy the King suite and view is excellent. Cleaning staff was very friendly and worked hard . My only complaint was the entire check in process. They should have at least 6 agents working the desk but theres usually 3 or 4 which causes a big , slow moving line. Read less
