Let’s celebrate the positives first- Nice clean health club and pool. Very central location. Rooms cleaned daily. We did have a quiet location. No too noisy The negatives are far more significant to me. Staff who seemed uninterested . Busy all the time and lots of aircraft crew so they clearly don’t have to fight for business., But that’s not the point Where is old fashioned customer service, and good quality. Stand rooms were awful - worse than a cheap Travel lodge Days Inn I didn’t feel my business was important to them and clearly it wasn’t! Old style tired rooms, with air conditioning and carpets from the 1970’s. \ This was not a cheap stay and booked months in advance. If you do come and stay here please upgrade , the red elevators seem to have rooms that MAY be of a higher standard- well let’s hope so. Read less

We only stayed one night but it was great. The location is prime because you are in walking distance from many things. Very kid friendly. Our 2 yr old loved the kids check in and the kids room activites kept him occupied for at least an hour. We didn't have time for swimming but many families seemed to enjoy that. Room was small but clean. No issues. I wish it had a fridge/microwave but I think most downtown hotels will not have these to encourage you to eat out. I thought that we'd be able to park for free or at least a discounted rate since we were staying at the hotel but nope still has to pay $40 for overnight parking. Street parking may be an option as you don't have to pay after 9pm. I'm just not sure if you are allowed to park overnight. Overall, a great stay. Read less

Stayed for a night over the Easter weekend with the family for a change of scenery. The hotel was busy but check in was quick. Our room was a studio. Kingsize bed with queen couch pullout bed. Lots of planning to keep the kids busy for Easter with real bunnies in the kids play area, kids pool. All in all. A good location and the hotel was good. Read less

I stay here for work a few times per year so no choice of hotel. I would describe it as ok only . It’s a huge hotel , possibly one of the largest in Toronto . It’s quite dated . The carpets in the corridors are extremely old fashioned and smell very musty . It’s close to a shopping mall . The Eaton Centre which has a very large food court… Read more

Chelsea Hotel is in downtown Toronto and is very near the Eaton Centre. The nearest subway is Dundas and the hotel has exits on Yonge Street (pronounced Young) Elm Street and Gerrard Street which was the entrance at the front of the hotel. Our room was 1208 (on the12th Floor) and Green Elevators. Different colour elevators go to different floors, which means you do not wait long to get up to your room. We had a room with tea/coffee facilities, safe, 2 king sized beds, shower, bath, sink, hairdryer, TV and heater/air conditioning. There was plenty of hot water, towels and they did refresh the tea/coffee etc whenever needed, and also helpfully provided takeaway cups with lids. The hotel had a good gift shop, that also sold provisions. But not too far is a Rabba supermarkets and you could get everything you could need there. Having said that the hotel did food, and there was plenty of eateries and takeaway places - but I can recommend Reds Tavern, Queen and Beaver Public House - which was a very typical English/Irish pub. We were highly recommended the barbarians steak house - very up market, but we could not get a table, as you need to book in advance.Recommend you get a Presto card, for the subway and trams - (they call them sidecars). Everything is within walking distance - and the hotel is very efficient, and anything you asked for appeared a few minutes later. There are parts round the hotel which are a bit run down, but if you can look past this, it is a great location, the staff are very helpful and if you cannot be bothered to go out, the food is good. We had a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to come back. Read less
