The hotel

The kind of hotel every modern metropolis needs, Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Toronto scores on location, modern comfort, and handy extras like a 24-hour market – perfect when you get back from nights out in Toronto. My sister and I spent the weekend in Toronto a couple of weeks ago. I booked the Courtyard Marriott mainly for the price, parking and reviews. I was worried it might not be great because it's such good value for money!, we were not disappointed the hotel was amazing, clean, great value, a great gym and valet parking too. Chose this hotel for location and price. It was a pleasant stay with a couple of hiccups that front desk staff worked at resolving. A little lax in recognizing BonVoy membership. I may not have the most points in the world but I also am a customer who picked this hotel out of loyalty. Food was decent and if you want to get out of the hotel there… Read more

I may not have the most points in the world but I also am a customer who picked this hotel out of loyalty. Food was decent and if you want to get out of the hotel there are wide choices very close by. I stayed in the recently renovated south Tower so my room was quite nice. I was impressed by the cleanliness of my room and friendly service staff in the halls. Read less

I stayed at this property for one night while on business. Unfortunately, they under delivered to a loyal Bonvoy member. The lady who checked me in made no mention of my platinum status. I stayed at this property for one night while on business. Unfortunately, they under delivered to a loyal Bonvoy member. The lady who checked me in made no mention of my platinum status. When I asked her for breakfast for my platinum amenity, she indicated they don’t offer a breakfast at this property? For the first time in over 2 years, I didn’t get a room upgrade. Not a huge deal because I was only in the room for 8 hours, but when you get accustomed to certain corporate standards, you definitely notice when they fail to deliver. The room itself was dark and the bathroom had paint peeling off the ceiling. Very underwhelming. Valet parking was $45 day. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a couple pillows with a little more substance. The location is convenient to College Park, but there is construction going on just north of the hotel and the noise began around 6:30 am. Overall, I regret not staying at the Sheraton Centre. It is a little further away, but acknowledges their platinum guests and has a nice Club Lounge. Read less

When we arrived to check in, we noticed a number of youth sports teams also checking in. When it was my turn to check in, I asked Neha if it was possible for us to have room not close to the teams because my daughter had an interview at the UofT med school in the morning and needed her sleep. We were immediately given a room on a higher floor which was very quiet. After we arrived in the room, Neha called to ask if the room was ok (it was) and also for the name of my daughter. A short time later, one of the housekeeping staff arrived at the room with a personal "good luck" card signed by many of the staff, along with small bags of candy. It was such a thoughtful gesture and my daughter was particularly touched by it. In fact, every staff member that we passed or rode the elevator with during our stay said hello, wished us a good day, etc. These are things which make people want to return to a hotel and to recommend it to friends. We were also quite impressed by the breakfast buffet. There were several hot items and everything was very fresh. If you can get a price that includes the breakfast, I would definitely suggest doing that. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Read less

Great location. We had a busy schedule downtown Toronto ranging from Queen's Park to Union Station, in and around Bay, Yonge and University. We were able to comfortably walk anywhere from this hotel. Great location. We had a busy schedule downtown Toronto ranging from Queen's Park to Union Station, in and around Bay, Yonge and University. We were able to comfortably walk anywhere from this hotel. Deal was as good or better than anyother comparable hotel in the vicinity. We asked for and received a quiet room on a high floor with a window that could be opened for fresh air. Room was clean and well maintained, basically a perfect mid price location for a quick trip and peaceful night's rest. Read less
