Good gym and short “lap” pool at a comfortable temperature. Big place but good signage to find your way around. Fast elevators are always a plus. Everyone if the service employees are extraordinarily friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. I will stay here again. The cabs that wait near the door are a ripoff - $60 for a fare that was $22-24 for the same trip with three different Uber drivers in the subsequent days. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating We stayed 2 nights for a sister-cousin retreat. The highligt of the trip was meeting the food and beverages supervisor.

The food and beverages supervisor at Courtyard-Downtown Toronto puts the hospitality into the phrase hospitality industry. She came to our rescue when we checked in late and made sure we were cared for during our entire stay. Because of our experience with her, I will not only return to this hotel. We stayed on a Sunday night. We had taken the train to Toronto and arrived at the hotel at about 2 p.m. Although check in is listed at 4 p.m., we were able to get our rooms right away which was great. The rooms are very large and spacious. We passed the person who cleaned our room on the way and were greeted by her and told that if we needed anything or if there were any problems that she would be happy to help us. We went to the restaurant off the lobby and although it was about 3:00 and there was not suppose to be service in the sit down area (you usually order at the counter at this time), they served us anyway which was appreciated. We had the roasted brussel sprouts with dip as an app and loved them. I had the chicken quesadilla which came with guacamole and salsa. It was delicious. I asked for a bit of sour cream which would have been lovely with it, but they didn't have any. My husband had the meatballs and he quite enjoyed them. We were very happy with the quality of the food which we didn't expect in a hotel restaurant. Good service too. The only complaint came from the gentlemen who travelled with us who said that the toilets were too low and he had problems getting up since there was nothing he could use to hoist himself up. We didn't need a parking spot but if you do, it is only valet (in and out privileges good until 5:00 on the day your check out) I think it cost my friend $38. The breakfast buffet was $24 each which was too pricey for us so we went to Fran's Diner which is on College just around the corner. Excellent breakfast. We would definitely come again. Read less

We booked to say for 5 nights from the 3rd May. We arrived at the hotel at 2pm and was advised by a very nice gentleman that the room was not yet ready, but that we could leave our cases and the room would be ready for us on our return at 4pm. We didn't want to go far as we had been up since 4am UK time so just went down the road for a couple of drinks and returned at 4pm. We once again got in queue and was told once again that our room was not ready. We clearly were not very impressed with this, so the receptionist rang to find out how long it would be, but couldn't tell us. She then went on to offer a different room at a different part of the hotel, but did warn us that this room was not a quite room and could be subject to more noise. We in the end accepted this because we were tired and just wanted to have a rest and freshen up bearing in mind we had been out and about 17 hours. I did not find the hotel particularly apologetic that our room was not ready and the room we were given instead was indeed subject to a lot of outside noise (room 447). If you are a light sleeper I would not recommend this room. We were also told by the hotel that the breakfast inclusive package we booked did not include breakfast for the third adult in our booking. When I reverted back to my booking details from booking.com there was no mention of this. Luckily for us our daughter was not a big breakfast eater and didn't bother to come down for breakfast, if she had it would have cost us an extra $24 per day and definitely was not worth it. However, I do have some positives for the hotel. Apart from the outside noise, our one bedroomed suite was extremely comfortable and ideal for our family of 3 as it enabled our daughter to have her own room. The maid who I think was called Theresa did a very good job of cleaning the room and replenishing the towels, water etc. The hotel is also in a good location to access all that Toronto has to offer. I would recommend this hotel, I would just ask that they be a little bit more apologetic when a room is not ready for the said time and also do more to ensure it is especially when they knew 2 hours in advance that the customer was waiting for the room. I usually stay at Marriott Courtyard when available at most of my mini escapades . This particular hotel despite its excellent location seems to lack to many of the amenities that one is accustomed find in a Marriott Courtyard .The hotel is in need of renovation to maintain its good standing.
