We are Marriott fans because they are, In our experience, consistent in quality, comfort and service. Our room was clean and spacious, bed was comfy. Service was impeccable as always. The only thing I would have changed would be the location of our room. Regardless of the floor you are on, ask to have a room away from the elevators. Had to get used to that noise. Did in fact get used to it but it was a bit jarring at first. Just a minor quibble. Otherwise would go back and would recommend this hotel. Great location, close enough to the action to walk to everything but away from some of the street noise. Read less

This was my first time at this hotel. I arrived quite late after a long flight. The manager on duty that greeted me was not very friendly upon first approach. Even with Mobile check-in, he had to search my reservation. I understand that sometimes upgrades are not possible, but they gave me a very small room that resembled a motel room. The door is less than 3 feet from the bed. You feel & hear everything outside the door. He told me it was a quiet room. As i had arrived late, I had a late checkout. With the construction outside and the cleaning staff making noise, it was difficult to stay in bed much longer. The problem is that it’s an old building that needs renovation and there is no soundproofing whatsoever. On a positive note, hence the reason I give Average ratings and not poor, is that they have extremely rapid internet and the bed was comfortable. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Nice Hotel But Loud Construction Outside

Nov 7, 2019 AHK403 Calgary, Canada

I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Downtown while on a business trip. The hotel was nice and the room was fine but I found the construction right outside my window to be a tad noisy (see pictures). This is not the hotel's fault, obviously. Other than that, my bed was comfortable and my stay was fine.

Valet parking is $45 a day, but provides easy in and out privileges. For breakfast, you can order the $25 buffet, or order an item (like a breakfast burrito) from the Cafe counter, where they serve Starbucks coffee. The place has a gym and pool on the lower level. The gym is quite big and has lots of different workout machines, weights, and treadmills. The pool is divided into separate sections. The whirlpool looks very cool. The king bed room we received was relatively small, with a sink in a separate room than the shower—what a strange set up. The bed was comfortable. There’s a huge HD TV, but not a lot of premium channels. However, I do like the dresser in front of the TV that allows for lots of table top space to put your personal items in plain view. There’s quite a number of fast food places around the hotel (Mcds, Wendys, A&W) as well as a stand-alone Starbucks, one block south. More restaurant and shopping options are a 15 minute walk south towards the Eaton Centre area. Read less
