After reading some of the negative reviews of this hotel, I was sceptical but I can honestly say my stay was truly excellent. Upon arrival I was impressed with the decor which did not match the outside! It was clean and bright. We were greeted by a very pleasant member of the team who checked us within a few minutes and went straight to our room. Our room was really nice, bright, modern, spacious and extremely clean. It came with plenty of amenities including bathroom products and a hair dryer. By the time we were settled it was around 11.30pm when I noticed the air conditioning wasn't working. I called the front desk and they sent someone to fix it immediately. There were no problems with it after this. There was bottled water provided and a fridge which was great for us as we went out for long days every day and didn't have to worry about buying cold water. I found the bed extremely comfortable and the room was nice and quiet. The staff were some of the nicest people I have ever met. From the desk staff who were more than happy to help us with booking excursions, giving directions and giving advice on how to get around by public transport to the wait staff and bar staff. The waitress who served us dinner 3 out of the 4 times we ate there was a dream, so friendly and polite and extremely efficient at serving a busy restaurant single handedly. The food was also 5 stars! The only thing I didn't really rate was the breakfast, good selection but quite expensive. The bartender, Daryll, was truly one of the nicest people. Excellent customer service and a great conversationalist. He made us feel incredibly welcome and made our evenings in the bar so enjoyable. Last but not least the location was excellent and so convenient for getting to all the sights. 5 stars all round ✨️ Read less

The hotel is very nice, check inn was very quick, the room was spacious and had everything we needed and more (having a fridge was a god send) and had some great amenities. The staff helped us book our excursion to Niagra Falls and helped us find our way to all the others we was doing. A real special mention has to go to Daryll in the bar who made me and wife feel so welcome and who we spent several evenings enjoying his company and stories over some drinks. There was also an amazing waitress in the restaurant who was so kind and helpful but didn't get her name unfortunately. The restaurant too was great, good selection, amazing quality and well priced. Ate there 4 of our 7 nights. If your going to Toronto I highly recommend. Would def stay here again Read less

Lovely hotel. Quick walk from the metro, also on a major Street with streetcars. Clearly popular with cabin crew stopovers. And plenty of local food options. Staff were excellent, efficient and polite. Room was well appointed, possibly a little small in comparison to others we’ve stayed in on this holiday, but lovely and clean with a double shower. Swimming pool was accessible without having to walk through lobbies, although slight annoyance about how many times you have to use your key for it (don’t forget it!!) Other than that, we were very impressed, especially when compared to Holiday Inns in the UK - didn’t feel like the same budget option. Read less

I used to work for a huge Canadian travel company so visited Canada every week for over 6 years and I have stayed in so many hotels around the city. I had not been back to Toronto in about 12 years so I was super excited to get back and explore a city that I am obsessed with. We choose the Holiday Inn downtown due to its location to the subway and street car lines, and its location to lovely church street as we wanted to chill after spending a week roaming about New York. Upon check in we were greeted straight away the reception team were fantastic took the time to welcome us and explain the hotel and its amenities fully to us, such as the pool/gym/outdoor garden area etc. even asked if we wanted a high or low floor and what kind of view we would prefer all little details that really made the difference and delivered a fantastic 5* customer service. Made our way to the room and were pleasantly surprised with it being.a downtown location we expected very small rooms however the room was more than adequate. The room was immaculately clean, walking around the hotel and public areas you could really tell that the cleaning staff were on the ball. The room was cleaned every single day and was always immaculate on our arrival back after a long day exploring even with fresh bottles of water every single day. The rooms had a fridge, safe, coffee machine, iron, iron board and hair dryer. Two USB ports built into the bedside table and plenty of plug sockets, large wardrobe so all the cases fit in, with drawers and a space to hang your jackets at the other end of the room. Each floor has its own little room with a vending machine and an ice machine in it, which you access with your key card, the hotel felt super safe and secure. We used the gym and pool facilities every single day which was bliss after a crazy week in New York. We had some fantastic weather so on our chill days we spent time lounging in the sun in their gorgeous outdoor area. There is also a shop inside the hotel it is very pricey but for convenience it is so handy and stocks everything you would ever need from gifts to toiletries, snacks and so much more. Staff were always on hand to give help and assistance and honestly could not have done enough for us during our stay, any questions answered, advice and recommendations given too. Subway station 30 second walk away (college st) 7/11 on the corner, small cinema next door, winners and Tim hortons one block up. Younge street square 8 min walk away, Eaton center 8 min walk away, church street the next block over. €9 Uber from union station. Honestly the location is super easy as a base to get all over. P.s - happy hour in the hotel bar 5-7pm €7 cocktails which are AMAZING !!! We were so impressed that we are planning on taking my parents next year to visit Toronto and will be booking this hotel. Thank you team for a fantastic stay. Read less

Having stayed here a few times over the years, I was pleasantly surprised by the noticeable improvement. The staff was friendly and helpful and my room was clean and comfortable, except for the windows which haven't been washed since the squeegee was invented! And, speaking of windows, if you face Carlton St., be prepared for the noise. The streetcar rumbles by every few minutes, but the real issue is the people yelling on the street, music blasting, motorcycles, ambulances, police cars, etc. Next time, I'll request a room facing north! Otherwise, my room was very comfortable, with a mini-fridge, good bed and excellent housekeeping. Breakfast buffet was excellent too. It's CAD$25 if you just pay at the restaurant, but the hotel front desk will sell you a ticket for CAD$20. Read less
