Never sure what to expect when you get a hotel 'Downtown' but this hotel is perfectly placed for travelling around Toronto on foot or by subway/bus/tram. Our room was on the 17th floor with plenty of room and facilities. The hotel is clean and staff excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Stayed in Holiday Inn Downtown for 5 days when visiting our son in Toronto. The location can’t be better for us. The supermarket Loblaw’s practically next door was really useful. The proximity with the public transportation, Eaton Centre mall, and many retail stores made the difference in our stay, compared to the other places that we stayed previously in Toronto. The hotel itself is a mix of sensations. A nice and fancy lobby with an impeccable polite staff and a small and outdated room. The old carpet gave us a bad impression in the room. The beds were comfortable, the Keurig machine and the minibar were a nice plus. The complementary wi-fi was good, but they could advise us when the password is changed. The work of the cleaning team was always excellent. Even though staying on the 11th floor, we didn’t have any problems with the elevators. We thought it’s the same way as in other big hotel chains during rush hours. The breakfast included was fresh, varied, delicious and the staff was amazing. We do recommend this hotel because of the reasonable price, good location and excellent staff. Read less

We stayed for 5 nights and as always this is only my opinion Positives Good central location Good Wi Fi reception that was free Good onsite facilities So So The room was fairly small as was the bathroom The Breakfast was a buffet style although their was a separate part that may have been for ordering breakfasts but it always had a sign saying cabin crew at the door , so not sure if it was open to all The Buffet was not that great and was hit and miss , only went twice and then gave it a miss after that The hotel is large and was always on the go , so if you are looking for a quiet hotel then this would likely not be for you Negatives Can be very noisy , we arrived in the evening and there was a lot of noise from the adjoining rooms almost to the point that we were going to complain We ordered a taxi from the hotel to take us back to the airport , they either ordered the wrong taxi ( by that I mean a limousine as opposed to a normal taxi) or the taxi driver was at it but either way it was the hotel that organised it and we paid more than we had anticipated Read less

I use big hotels frequently and we had a bad experience in Ottawa but this hotel put it all behind us. Very friendly welcome and useful underground car park. Room was small.but had all necessary conveniences. There is a large gift shop in the lobby and the concierge service was helpful. Bar is good and has 'happy hours'. We didn't test the restaurant as the hotel is in an area full of shops, 24hour markets and restaurants. Our room was on the 10th floor on a street with trams but was well sound proofed and there was little noise. The swimming pool on floor 6 is excellent and although unsupervised the depth is suitable for young children, adjacent to the pool is a gym and sun terrace. Read less
