The location of the hotel is just perfect. Just a few minutes walk from the Hockey hall of Fame, Yonge street, the Toronto letters, the CN Tower and the Rogers Center. Big confortable beds, quite room, we just missed some space for the luggage.

Toronto is a very expensive city so I was surprised to get a premium room at this really nice hotel for less than $300 Canadian dollars a night. Large room with a huge comfortable bed and good shower. Conveniently located 150m from a subway station that is 4 stops from Union station. Air conditioning turned off in the night and the room was extremely warm, so you had to get up to turn it back on again and this happened multiple times. Despite the hotel having 4 lifts, we waited longer for lifts than at any other hotel on our trip. Asked the front desk for restaurant recommendations and they just said, walk south on Yonge Street or talk to the concierge, who wasn't there. Read less

Me and my two friends stayed at the Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown for Caribana 2024. The hotel is well located at Carlton and Yonge street. There is a subway station next to the hotel, restaurants, shopping center, and a 5-minute walk to Dundas Square and the Hilton Center. Yes, the hotel is very well located. The hotel is clean, the staff is polite and friendly The hotel has a pool, a gym, terrace, but the rooms are small and clean with a small refrigerator and an iron. The hotel also has a bar and parking for a fee.$$ I recommend the Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown. Read less

We ended up having extra nights here due to strikes and cancellations of flights. The staff were empathetic to our plight being so far from home. Jasmine was so helpful and assisted in anyway she could. It became our home away from home in the end. Thank you to everyone.

We arrived at the hotel at about 5 PM to check in. There were 4 desk agents checking customers in, just to indicate how busy they were. Check in as listed on the hotel website is 4 PM. When I was able to get to the desk I did the usual, name, spelling etc. The lady assisting me then disappeared into the back. No real words, just poof, gone for like 5 minutes. Was this her break time, it was quite confusing. When she finally did emerge, she mutter something, then said my room was not ready. I asked for an ETA, but none was given. I was simply told to go into the bar (it was right next to the check in) and she would give us a $30 voucher. My wife then spoke up and said we had reservations. One would think that this would have prompted her to do something. She then disappeared AGAIN, when she finally came back out she said something like, “room is not ready, they have been told to prioritize yours.” Still no ETA on the room, would it be 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour? We declined the bar offer and instead was supposed to get free breakfast. We walked over to the lounge area to the side in full view of the check in desk. I immediately got on and contacted their social media teams. As we sat there for the next 15-20 minutes a steady stream of customers came and were checked in and went to their rooms… At this point I went to the desk and asked for a status update. A new lady looked up the information and said, here let me put you in a different room. I asked if this room was going to be the same or better. She replied “no it’s exactly the same room”. Ok well this is very odd. Their social media team told me that a member of management would be reaching out to me to resolve the matter. It should surprise no one that at no time was I contacted. We went out, had an AMAZING evening. That said when we did get back to the room the AC unit was very odd to work. Instructions said to change the temperature (it was a warm 77F in the room, whatever 77F means, given we are in Canada and the metric system has been king since 1975…). I followed the directions which were to adjust the temp setting and wait 5 minutes. So there we sat, sweating waiting for the 5 minutes, for something to happen. Five minutes came and went and the temp was now 78F, so still sweating….so we waited for another 5 minutes. I mean given my experience thus far, maybe it went for a break. Well after 5 more minutes I looked at the thermostat, and despite there being 2 buttons saying “do not touch”, oh thats right, I touched them. In a flurry of excitement the AC unit came to life and started to cool down this blast furnace of a room. In no time we were at 76F, then 75F, then 74F and so on. I guess I should have contacted them, but given how useless they had been to that point AND that it was after 11, I could not be bothered. The only highlight of the stay was the security guard. He was always smiling, always said hi, engaged in a little passing by chatter. Honestly he’s the one person I would be fine with not being nice and friendly. If a member of the hotel management would now like to reach out to me, you have my number Read less
