A chic boutique hotel located in downtown Toronto. The room got this retro feeling to it. love the little details and how they spend the time to decorate the room with a vinyl player but sadly, the vinyl records are all scratched up so you can't really enjoy it. Overall a decent stay while parking across the street is abit pricey.

Rooms are beautifully designed. Lots of retro touches in a modern setting. Clean, highly functional, comfy, quiet - on the 4th floor at least. Staff are pleasant, genuine and attentive. Constantine - the hotel restaurant - is fabulous. Wonderful menu, beautifully crafted and prepared, some Ottolenghi influence I think, beautiful restaurant… Read more

It started well - I dropped off my luggage @ 8AM when there was a fire alarm going off. Couldn't figure out where the entrance was right away and the guy hanging out behind the counter in the front portable entrance wasn't about to shake off his boredom to help me out. The man at the check-in (who I later learned was the GM) was flawless in his greetings, taking my bag as well as putting a request for a room higher up to avoid street noise. Came back at 4PM - new guy at the entrance, no greeting and just standing there. Doesn't open the doors, doesn't greet anyone, just there. Go in and the gentleman checking me in was great but who doesn't love a French accent! Get a great room - all seems good. when I come back in from doing errands, and yep, same guy at the front leaning over the counter inside of the vinyl / plastic door while still imitating a sloth. The room upon further inspection was ok - the level of cleanliness was lacking. that stuffed animal was gross - hair and lint on it so got rid of it along with the decorative cushions. the bathroom was not clean. it wasn't dirty but it didn't feel clean. the shampoo and conditioner containers were 1/4 filled. there was someone else's hair on the tiles in the shower. and the hallways / doors leading to my room seemed very tired - could use a solid day of painting and touchups but its starting to show its wear and tear. woke up three times during the night to people on the floor drunk and going to their rooms, the last being at 3:30AM. and of course, checking out, new guy at the front entrance in the vinyl winterized area and totally uninterested in who was coming and going. these guys need to walk a few blocks to the Four Seasons and see how the valet/greeters do it. none of this lazy I'm2Cool attitude. the hotel itself was beautiful on the main floor but warm - had to be at least high 80s when you walked in. all in all it seemed like a great concept and you can see the design sensibilities of the rooms and in the overall space, but the cleanliness, noise will likely keep me away on my next visit. A great job renovating an old hotel in the center of Toronto. Can't even remember what the original place was called but it was bad. The new Anndore is a hip and chic boutique hotel. The main floor is compact with a cool bar, resto and the smallest check-in area ever. Two (2) small computer screens and a couple staffers manning those - very quick check-in and off we went to our 2nd floor room. They really did a nice job with the bathroom spaces, minimalist furniture (rooms are small) HUGE screen TV and a record player (hipster influence again) king bed and comforters were OK but not outstanding. The bartender knew how to make a great Olde Fashioned cocktail - bonus points! The "regular price" of this room was $364 but we booked it on Hotwire for $216. It was worth the $216 but I would have been disappointed to have paid full price. Downtown Toronto hotel prices are a bit crazy but places like this (when on sale) make staying downtown affordable, fun and mostly comfortable. Read less

We stayed here for our final night in Toronto following a trip to Niagara Falls. We arrived late at night and received an unwelcome reception. The lobby is connected to the restaurant so no privacy or quiet to check in. The female staff was quite unfriendly. We had emailed ahead to request a high floor room but were given one on the 2nd floor. When we entered we realised it was a single king bed rather then the two twins we booked. We returned to reception to explain but the same lady insisted it was our mistake and we had booked incorrectly. When we provided email proof she passed us over to someone else with no apology. The other man was polite and sorted this issue out but we were disappointed with her attitude. The room itself was modern with stylish decor. The room was clean but the bathroom had hairs on the towels and in the sink and chewing gum stuck to the floor. The bed was very comfortable but the room was cold despite the heater and I had to sleep with a jumper on. I expected more given the price and the previous reviews and it certainly was not the high standard hotel we expected. We would not stay again. Read less
