The hotel

A luxurious, landmark waterfront hotel, Westin ensures your every comfort is met at the Harbour Castle. Beautifully appointed guest rooms with Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed and Bath offer a welcome retreat at the end of a busy day spent sightseeing. There’s also a heated indoor swimming pool in which to wallow and the WESTIN Workout Gym, overlooking the picturesque Toronto Islands — enough to inspire anyone to take to the treadmill! Afterwards, recline in the whirlpool or, if you’ve still energy to spare, perhaps a game of tennis or squash may tempt you. There are plenty of restaurants close by but highly recommended are both the hotel’s eateries. The Mizzen serves exquisite à la carte dishes alongside a very tempting buffet. Our SuperFoods menu features revitalizing dishes made from healthy ingredients rich in nutrients, antioxidants and delicious taste so you can feel energized and at your best all day. On the 38th floor, with panoramic views of the city and the lake, is Toula Restaurant and Bar, one of North America’s premier culinary destinations. Sit back and admire the views as you feast on gourmet Italian cuisine and fine wine.

We were going to Toronto to visit family. We were happy to have the opportunity to stay at this hotel again. Our previous stay was a wonderful experience . When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted warmly at check-in.It soon became apparent that Covid 19 had had its effect in major and minor ways. The lobby wqs dead !Nobody was there except security and the occasional guest. All restaurants were closed. Only the coffee bar was open briefly on Saturday and Sunday. This was disappointing bt understandable due to health concerns. Our room was in the older tower. There was a partial lake view but nothng like the tower facing the lake. We accepted that we hadn't requested a lakeview room (just had hoped for one since they were not busy). The room was a good size but teh furnishings and the rest of decor was tired and slightly dingy looking. The thing that really soured the visit was that our room was never cleaned, our bed was never made, and our towels were never changed the entire time we were there (3 nights). We were out every morning by 10 am and did not return untill after 9pm. Surely, that should have provided sufficient time for someone to clean our room! I still rated the hotel at a 4 because I understand that these are difficult times. But I was extremely disappointd with this cleaning issue. I consider this to be an essential service, especially during a worlwide pandemic Read less

My first impression was the amazing service upon check in. Being a travel Agent, I have stayed at a LOT of hotels and Oliver was by far one of the friendliest people I have ever encountered at a front desk. Being a travel Agent, I have stayed at a LOT of hotels and Oliver was by far one of the friendliest people I have ever encountered at a front desk. He had a great way to make a guest feel extra special! Because of Covid, I didn’t encounter too many other staff members except for...friendly bell hop at the front door and very nice person I spoke to when I needed more room amenities on the second night). I decided not to have my room cleaned on the second night because of Covid. The location of this hotel is excellent! We took a trip to Toronto island and were able to walk to the dock (2 minute walk). Overall, I thought this hotel was excellent and would highly recommend it to anyone!! Read less

It is located right in the heart of the Harbour Front and is walking distance from several waterfront restaurants, bars and sight seeing spots. The hotel is very clean and the staff takes all the necessary COVID prevention measures. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The ONLY negative thing I have to say about our experience is the fact that the parkade doesn’t have any elevator/stairs between the differemt parking levels and the main lobby. So you have to walk down the parking ramps, which isn’t always the safest. Again, great stay and I would stay there again! Read less

The cavernous reception hall has zero life because not even the coffee bar is open. Elevators are far from shiny and the room King Corner Lakeview) looked like housekeeping really hates their job. Bed was made poorly, lamp shades crooked, curtains and blinds randomly left open or closed. Window sills were dirty. The windows themselves are absolutely filthy. For sure the windows have not been washed in at least 2 years. Lake view is looking like a foggy day. A nice long black hair on the bathrobe, fingerprints on the bedside table. Carpet looks grubby and the room didn’t smell fresh. Furniture is scuffed. At the moment there is no housekeeping so probably best to move to a new room or another property after one or two nights. Breakfast is not available during the week. Parking is free at the moment. However, we decided to check out after the first night and the hotel kindly accommodated our request to leave early. This hotel should be closed for renovation but there isn’t even mention of work going on when booking. Read less
