The hotel

A luxurious, landmark waterfront hotel, Westin ensures your every comfort is met at the Harbour Castle. Beautifully appointed guest rooms with Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed and Bath offer a welcome retreat at the end of a busy day spent sightseeing. There’s also a heated indoor swimming pool in which to wallow and the WESTIN Workout Gym, overlooking the picturesque Toronto Islands — enough to inspire anyone to take to the treadmill! Afterwards, recline in the whirlpool or, if you’ve still energy to spare, perhaps a game of tennis or squash may tempt you. There are plenty of restaurants close by but highly recommended are both the hotel’s eateries. The Mizzen serves exquisite à la carte dishes alongside a very tempting buffet. Our SuperFoods menu features revitalizing dishes made from healthy ingredients rich in nutrients, antioxidants and delicious taste so you can feel energized and at your best all day. On the 38th floor, with panoramic views of the city and the lake, is Toula Restaurant and Bar, one of North America’s premier culinary destinations. Sit back and admire the views as you feast on gourmet Italian cuisine and fine wine.

We stayed here one night and as soon as we got to our room we noticed a very loud almost growling sound every few minutes. We thought it was construction, but after we had the maintenance person come to our room he told us it was the noise from the elevator. There is no way I would have been able to sleep with it making that sound all night. Thankfully the front desk moved us without any hassle into another room. They put us on the 22nd floor in room 2244, which had two doors to go through, thankfully cancelling out the elevator noise which was still audible in the hallways. This is a nice hotel, but they REALLY need to spend some money and fix the elevator noise, or their return visitor rate will drop drastically. The positive was the front desk experience. They were friendly and helpful. Good location, but not many restaurants in walking distance during the winter. Would be wonderful in the summer. Oh, the beds were incredibly hard. I know some people prefer this, but my back was spasming all night. The pillows were great, and overall the room was clean (except for the dirty, stained bathrobe on the back of the bathroom door that they were trying to sell). Read less

I've never had a bad stay at this hotel. I have found in my travels that the Westin has the most comfortable beds of the hotels that I have stayed at. The staff is great, helpful and attentive. If you want something to do and you're not sure, just ask and they'll give you a run down. There is generally something going on in the main lobby area where you can join in. I like the fitness facilities. I had a great view of the lake, with Billy Bishop off to the right. You can't hear the planes coming in and the room was very quiet, being on the south side of the hotel. There's a lot to see and do in the area if you don't mind the walk up Bay or Yonge to Front Street. Read less

Great hotel very accommodating for us (we were easily 1000). Breakfast good, lunches effective and organized with great service. Check in fast and easy and rooms clean. Waterfront hotel but close enough to ACC now Scotia Bank Arena to watch the Leafs or Raptors. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely avoid rooms in the north tower on 16 or 17. Why? Was here for 2 nights stayed on 16, stayed an additional night (snow storm) on 17, all you hear is the elevator traffic constantly. And my room on 17 couldn't be farther from the elevator but it's all I hear. You'll lose sleep on these floors.
