Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada

The hotel

A veritable castle in the heart of the city, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is an impeccable symbol of indulgence and pedigree. Offering the luxury and services of a world-class hotel, all guest rooms are beautifully furnished with every attention to detail observed. Facilities include a state-of-the-art health club, accessible 24-hours a day, with indoor heated swimming pool and saunas. Pilates and Yoga classes are available at the Sitka Studios or treat yourself to some well-deserved pampering at the Absolute Spa. There’s also some prime shopping in the lobby with designers stores selling plenty to tempt you! Although you’re close to plenty of restaurants and bars in the downtown area, the Fairmont’s very own Notch8 Restaurant & Bar is the ideal place to relax and watch the world pass by. Named after a train’s top speed, achieved only by the most skilled conductors, the restaurant pays homage to the hotel’s storied history and legacy as a luxury hotel along the Canadian Pacific railway. A traditional afternoon tea is also served here daily — for a special occasion, add a glass of champagne or, if the kids want to tag along, childish delights include Bubblegum Tea, fresh strawberries and cream and a giant chocolate chip cookie!

We choose the downtown location because of so many wonderful restaurants within easy walking distance. Our favorite was the Cactus Club. Vancouver is a beautiful, clean, multi cultural city that we thoroughly enjoyed and we will go back. We will definitely stay at the Fairmont again. This hotel is great. Read less

The location of the hotel is good if you want to be downtown but there are no views and the rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny. The concierges were great, however. I just think it's a lot of money to pay for such a small room.

What a fantastic stay at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver! From start to finish, we were consistently blown away by the level of service and attention to detail displayed by the hotel. Jane at Reception made the check-in process seamless and we felt so welcome due to her fabulous service - including the suggestion of a room upgrade (to room 1405) that elevated our short stay to celebrate my fiancee's birthday to something truly memorable and special. The room was beautiful, and spotlessly clean with lovely touches that spoke to that Fairmont quality we are familiar with. The property as a whole is absolutely stunning, with true old-world charm that is evident from the lobby, to the hallways and rooms. Our upgrade included breakfast in the Fairmont Gold lounge, which had a large array of options. We wish we got the employee's name who helped us at breakfast on the morning of September 16th - amazing and friendly service. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Vancouver, with quick and easy access to some great restaurants and shopping. All in all, one of the best hotel experiences we have enjoyed, and we are eagerly looking forward to booking again. Thanks Fairmont! :) Read less

We enjoyed a luxurious room (335) with plentiful comfortable seating and a Fairmont-standard small bathroom. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Appreciated the convenient location. Kudos to the hotel for providing breakfast boxes for travelers who much leave early for the airport.

In the middle of our stay, our room was not serviced until late in the afternoon when a surprised staff member told us the room should be vacant. The following day,(again late afternoon) I had to inquire if the room was going to be serviced as it looked like we again had a problem. I would still recommend this hotel to friends. Read less
