Stayed at the Pacific Rim for one week. Greatest experience until they charged me 500 dollars for smoking cigarettes in the room, when I DID NOT smoke in the room NOT EVEN ONCE. This was charged to me a day after I checked-out of the hotel and I am absolutely appalled at this behaviour on their end. Also to the fairmont staff, why don’t you check your security cameras and/or speak to every single one of your front desk members and valets, they will all tell you that we would come out at least 10-12 times a day for a smoke. So why would we smoke in the room? Or why would we come down if we were smoking in the room? Kevin, the guest services manager returned my call saying in the rudest of tones ‘this is only a courtesy call, we have evidence (but can’t tell me what this evidence is) and that we can not dispute this matter whatsoever’. He did not answer any of my questions, only saying that there is nothing I can do to dispute this. Here’s the kicker: we don’t even smoke cigarettes. We smoke Iqos. After smoking outside, we would put the butts in our pocket and dispose them in our room trash can. So as a hotel when you blame + charge someone for something they did not do, I advise you to first get the facts straight. If you can’t even do that, at least do not talk to your customers so rudely (Especially when they drop $3.5k for 6 days). From a five star rating I will now give this a one star- lost all respect for this hotel and their staff (unfortunately, because they were all so lovely) Never staying at this hotel or any hotel managed by this manager Kevin. Don’t know which is making me more upset: being charged for something I didn’t do and not being able to even dispute it or the manner in which Kevin spoke to me on the phone. If you don’t want to get shocked with a post check out charge when you get back home, don’t stay here. And if you do decide to stay here and get the charge, I hope it is not Kevin you have to deal with and be talked to like you are some insignificant spec of dirt. Read less

My husband and I opted for a 'staycation' for our anniversary and the Fairmont Pacific Rim did not disappoint. The best of all the Fairmont Hotels we have stayed in, hands down. Excellent service from the front door (thank you, Patrick!) to checkout, and everything in between. Frank at Botanist made our dinner (and drinks!) wonderful, and the on-the-house celebratory glasses of bubbles were wonderfully surprising and very kind. The spa was wonderful (thank you, Robin!), and we cannot wait to go back. From beginning to end, Fairmont Pacific Rim nailed it, and we could not have asked for a lovelier time. We will absolutely be back. Read less

A mountain of glass tucked at the oceans edge overlooking towering mountains is the exquisite Fairmont Pacific Rim (FPR). It is enviably positioned in vibrant downtown Vancouver, 1 block from the Convention Center, Coal Harbour waterfront and a stones throw from the shopping venues, restaurants and bars of the trendy Gastown district. This is a winning hotel location.... its greatest asset. As I faced up to the entrance, I was greeted by a fascinating water ornament, a BMW ebike carousel, and would you believe, a guest pulled up in a BMW L735i......I guess FPR is partial to BMW. I was ushered in, politely, by the door-person only to be invigorated with an amazing smell....not being a perfumer, I didn't know if it was Channel #5 or L'eau de Cologne. The lobby was spacious, with vaulted ceilings lined in white marble and wall to wall windows. Musicians would orchestrate their ditties here to an audience engaged in group or tete a tete conversations over hardy beverages ....a very communal, cool space.....I spent a lot of time here. The FPR has a long list of amenities: it's location that provides spectacular views from the rooms and rooftops, poolside relaxation, spoiler treatment at the Willow Stream Spa and top notch cuisine served up at the Botonist restaurant where the food fare is regionally sourced. For outdoorsy adventure, you can trek along a waterside path to Stanley Park or rent one of the hotels BMW bikes, under the tutelage of the Bike Butlers, to explore Vancouver. I bunked down in a Harbour View Room. My digs were spacious, sleek and modern, with a very large bed, and quite technologically-appointed. The bath was a real plumb with spa, shower and a monster soaker tub. Waking up and viewing the amazing harbour vista was all the motivation I needed to engage in my yoga 'Sun Salutation" routine (now my Water Salutation). I found a yoyo in my room....a bit of the whimsical I imagine.....tried doing a downward dog using the yoyo...no success. If my wallet was a little fatter, I would have opted for a Gold room which embraces more enhanced luxury goodies and a dedicated butler, to boot. On that note, service at the FPR was extraordinary, befitting the levels that are standard of the Fairmont chain. For a stay in the centre of the happenings of Vancouver, with a full complement of amenities and ocean, mountain and green vistas.........try the Fairmont Pacific Rim...... ..........Location, Luxury and Smells Amazing.
