Hyatt Regency Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada

The hotel

Very Vancouver, this downtown delight brings the city’s signature cool styling, upscale-yet-casual lifestyle, and modern dining scene to your door. It might be stylish and spacious — and have free WiFi on tap — but you won’t want to spend much time in your guestroom — not when your feature-filled hotel has distractions like a gym, Life Luxe Spa, and al fresco sun deck with heated pool and hot tub. Giving you a true taste of British Columbia, Hyatt Regency Vancouver’s bars and restaurants feature fresh regional produce, sustainable seafood, local microbrews, home-grown wines, and artisanal cocktails, as well as the less-local Starbucks® for that pre- and post-sightseeing caffeine fix. The location’s very Vancouver too — eating out, shopping, and sightseeing are effortless with downtown favourite Robson Street just blocks away, and Stanley Park’s beaches, cycling, and totem poles a leisurely stroll.

The location is great. I was quite surprised that the hotel can't offer to guests appropriate pillows, I asked for firm pillows and they didn't have. You have to ask for slippers because they are never in the room. Not normal for such category of hotels. Time to take this seriously.

Originally selected for its central location, was the best choice. Exceptionally clean with exemplary service. Concierge always available to provide assistance and book excursions. Better to ask for a room with balcony.

We were very happy with our stay at the Hyatt. It feels like a boutique hotel, even though it is a large hotel. The Hyatt is centrally located next to the Burrard station and within walking distance from the Vancouver City Center station at the mall. Location - Very close to public transit for the train lines that went north-south and east-west. We took the train from the airport and walked about 10 minutes (5 without little kids pulling their luggage) to the hotel. It's only a few blocks away from Robson Street, and the valet was great about getting us a taxi for longer trips. Room - The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious enough for a rollaway bed. I loved the toiletries...they smelled great and were good enough to bring home. The maids were always great about replenishing the toiletries and water daily, and the room was very clean. The walls were a bit thin and I had to call the front desk about our very loud neighbors at 2AM, but they were able to get them to quiet down. Other than that, the room was very quiet. We had a nice view of the Burrard Station down below. We had a great stay and the kids had so much fun with the elevator. We didn't get a chance to try the pool, but the gym looked clean with the standard gym equipment. We absolutely loved our stay and everyone was so friendly. We would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Vancouver. Read less

Nice place to stay, great location and convenient to train and world-class shopping. Room was large and clean with good sized desk and plenty of outlets. Pillows, sheets/towels were of particularly high quality. Great water pressure in shower. Two yellow flags that may or may not apply to your stay. The walls are pretty thin and I did hear neighboring rooms showering, flushing and talking; very clearly heard upstairs neighbors jumping around or something. If you’re a sound sleeper, I wouldn’t worry about it. Second flag may be an isolated incident. I was using the well-equipped gym when several families with young children came in and started “playing” with the equipment. You have to walk through the gym to get to the pool and back again, so these soaking wet youngsters (I’m guessing aged 7-10) got out of the pool and started wreaking havoc in the gym. Their parents were there but just sat on a machine (dripping wet themselves) having a chat. The kids were throwing balance balls around and swinging kettle bells (!) without supervision. Others were jogging on the treadmill, barefoot and dripping wet. They were so loud and disruptive that I cut my workout short as I didn’t want to witness someone getting hurt. I didn’t notice if the gym had an age policy but this was not good. Read less
