When we checked in there was a small issue with the television but a maintenance worker was on the scene within minutes and it was dealt with efficiently. I would return to this hotel any time I had to be in Vancouver for an extended time because the room has a small but well equipped kitchen. The breakfast was excellent with choices to satisfy a wide variety of tastes. Read less

We had a late arrival and greeted very nicely, the room was warm and very clean, loved the kitchen area with full refrigerator, dish washer and complete utensils and equipment. During our stay we did not need a service, but they were there and asking and trying to help anyway. The breakfast was good, location was great, quite and nice area. We… Read more

They do not care about their guests! Based on their Reviews, I'm not the only one who thinks so. I had called into the Marriott reservations line to book a stay here back in Sept. '16. The rep at the call center was so friendly and helped me reserve my room, using my points for one of the three nights, I was scheduled to stay. This trip was last minute, as we had flown in due to a family emergency. All of the other Marriotts in the area were booked out, except this hotel. We were picked up by our cousin, who met us at the entrance of the hotel. Upon arriving, my brother and I were very tired, our plane was delayed, twice, and to make matters worse, we were running late for our 6pm dinner meeting with our family. We came into the hotel about 4:30pm- ish. When we walked in, we went straight to the check in counter, to the left. We stood in line, as an Asian male front desk rep finished helping another customer check in. When it was finally our turn, I told them male rep we were checking in. He asked for my name, I gave it, and he typed away on his keyboard. We told him we were in a rush, as we were late for our dinner meeting. A few moments later he told me he couldn't find my reservation. I told him it should definitely be in there, as I had received email confirmations, etc. He typed away again, and said he couldn't find it. I told him I would give him the reservation confirmation number, that was emailed to me. The phone rang, as I was in the middle of speaking to him, and he answered the phone, stuck his finger in my face, and told me he was assisting someone else on the phone. At this point, I am tired and late for our dinner, I turned to my brother and said, "This is bulls**t." The male rep, turned to me and said he refused to help me because I used "that language". I started to get upset and asked to speak to the supervisor. He went to the back and grabbed Jenny, the manager on duty, who came to the computer to assist. I gave her my name and she pulled up my reservation, with no problem. I told her we would pay in cash for the nights that weren't covered by my points. She told me there was a $500/night security deposit if we weren't using a credit card. I told her that no one had told me about that and spoke to my brother to see which card we would be able to use. I handed over my Visa, and agreed, as we were in a hurry, and I wanted the process to be over with. When Jenny handed over my keys, I told her about the male rep, and how I felt he was rude, and not considerate of our time, when we told him we were in a hurry. Jenny just smiled and said that she didn't appreciate me swearing at her staff. I told her I didn't swear at him, and that I was speaking to my brother. I asked for the male rep's name, from Jenny. She declined stating, and I quote, "It is not in our best interest to give you that information." I asked, "What? Why?" Jenny continued with "Because I don't think you're emotionally stable at this point." I was completely shocked to hear the manager speak to me, a paying guest, in this manner. I looked at my brother, and my cousin who both looked as shocked as I was. I told her I felt very uncomfortable and would be calling Marriott customer care, as this treatment was not OK. We paid, in cash, over $1,000 for the two nights that were not covered by my points, because we had to stay in the Studio King Suite, as it was the only room available. While upstairs, I ran into the shower, and got dressed so we could leave. During this time, Jenny had called my room twice, with the same question, "Did you want to talk to me about something?" I told her "No," and that I would call Marriott customer care, instead, and have them speak with her. After about 45mins on the phone, Marriott customer care was able to get Jenny to refund us our three night reservation, so we could leave the hotel. This whole situation was very upsetting, because not only were we on a time crunch, we had to scramble to find another hotel. I had called Marriott customer care, not once, twice, but five times, in regards to filing a complaint with the customer service we received. Each time I was promised a call back from this specific hotel, and each time, no call. When I would call to follow up with customer care, the reps read that someone from the hotel would write a note stating that they 'tried to call but I would hang up'. Why would I waste my time calling in for you to call me back, if I hang up when you call? I had asked that the hotel manager, Suzanne Allemier, give me a call, as I never received an apology from this establishment. I think Suzanne should at least do that much, since we had to scramble to find another hotel last minute. Customer service at this establishment is a joke. Read less

Clean, modern rooms, delightful staff and hearty breakfast in the middle of downtown Vancouver. Almost everything within walking distance or a short bus trip to anywhere downtown. It really is a great no-frills hotel!
