The hotel

This glamourous bay-side residence sits on a curve of Vancouver Harbour facing stunning Stanley Park — giving you incredible views and incredible access to this urban utopia. You can explore the park like locals with The Westin Bayshore’s complimentary bikes (if you’re not tempted off-track by cycling expeditions like their tantalisingly titled ‘Craft Beer Tour’). This being a Westin hotel, they’ve included other sporty freebies like RunWESTIN jogging routes, YogaWESTIN sessions, and a WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio. If sport isn’t your game, there’s always spa treatments, a soak in the chic circular pool (perfectly positioned by the harbour’s boardwalk, and your room’s ‘Heavenly’ bed and bath. And, after the sightseeing, the sports, or the simple relaxation, you can take your seat in the H2 Rotisserie and Bar to enjoy seasonal cuisine and views of Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains.

Great location but hotel was packed! We had a view of the mountains (aka overlooking the rock/pebble roof of the restaurant). Great location but hotel was packed! We had a view of the mountains (aka overlooking the rock/pebble roof of the restaurant). Loved the pet friendly aspect but on arrival found out none of the restaurants had anywhere where we could sit with our pets and eat which is a challenge as you can’t leave them alone in the room. We went to nearby restaurants and no pet friendly patios. Our room was small with only a chaise jammed in the corner so literally if we did room service we would be eating on our laps. Fortunately a staff person tucked us in a corner outside (against the rules, but she saved the day!!!) and we ordered salads. Didn’t even try for breakfast, just left. This is a lovely hotel, just suggest that it’s totally a bust when travelling with pets. Also read they would provide water dish and dog beds which they didn’t, but we had our own so no issue…but just a heads up for others. Read less

We fell asleep every night with the curtains open and the twinkling lights of the city and harbor as our nightlights. You did have to get up at some point during the night to close them or the sun in the morning was very bright! The pool area is very nice and more "resort like" compared to most hotels in Vancouver. There could have been a few more chaise lounges but I got one both times. Everyone was extremely nice and couldn't do enough for you, especially Norton the concierge, whose recommendations for dinner, logistics, a sports bar, great places to stop while driving to Whistler, etc were all right on target. The front desk staff and valets were attentive and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. We had a corner room, overlooking the harbor and Stanley Park, with a balcony, which was ideal on the nice days we had. While you don't hear much noise from other guests, the soundproofing from outside leaves much to be desired. In addition, while they do have blackout curtains, the gaps on the top made them less than perfect. If you don't mind these inconveniences the hotel was terrific. Read less
