Always someone to take my mother who has just had a knee replacement up and down the road to our room. Great air conditioning. Opposite the Yacht club that does breakfast and Cork and basket the small supermarket and coffee house. Only a 10 minute stroll to pigeon bay beach. Will definitely return. Thankyou to making the stay for our cousins wedding so perfect. Read less

This hotel is located on the side of the hill overlooking the marina and offers amazing views of the water, boats and surrounding area! It is within walking distance of many great restaurants, the grocery store and Nelson’s Dock. Security guards located at the entrance made us feel welcome and secure. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. Our only complaint is that it was very tired, especially the bathroom. The mirror had multiple streaks, tiles chipped, grout dirty … just need to be redone. Floors throughout were dirty even after mopping. Be aware that the hairdryer provided is very small and old. Read less

Do not go if you are interested in relaxation. This hotel is located directly on the busiest street in the area--not like the pics show. Next store is a very largecar rental parking lot. Do not go if you are interested in relaxation. This hotel is located directly on the busiest street in the area--not like the pics show. Next store is a very largecar rental parking lot. It is also the main route for big oil trucks and other large vehicles. Because of this, there is constant noise, people, traffic and pollution. In addition, there is a night club to the left of the hotel and right across the street, making it impossible to sleep, as the windows and doors do not close completely and are in disrepair. We wore ear plugs, etc., to no avail. No offense to America's favorite Allies, but the Brits are out of control. They like to party BIG here. Also, no sidewalks, so you're taking your life in your hands. I am not exaggerating. If you are young, stay up in the early morning hours and want to party all night, this may be the place for you. If you are looking for R&R--stay away. When we asked to be moved - other hotels were sold out at that point - we were moved after 4 days of sleeplessness to another part of the property next door to a private home. Three barking dogs and more parties. However, the parties were not round the clock and the new room was larger and nicer. Very basic tea and coffee (read: hot pot avail. in the courtyard in the monring. People at front desk are nice and do their best, but they know what this place is-- an attraction for partyers. Can't fault this hotel for location, size of room and view. There is no pool or restaurant but within a few minutes walk are lots of very good restaurants and just around the corner around 10 min walk away is Pigeon Beach. Nearby Catherine's Cafe on the beach was very good. English Harbour is a 10 minute walk away or if you fancy a trip further afield, the local bus gets you into St John's within about 45 minutes. While the room itself was basic, there was a kitchen and a large balcony making it perfect for breakfasts overlooking the Harbour. Shirley Heights BBQ on a Sunday is a must see, the cab from the hotel was around $10 US Read less
