I booked this hotel for a week through British Airways based on a pretty high Tripadvisor review score, a mistake! We’re currently day two of seven. We were put in a room overlooking the marina, the downside is it has the road and bars outside so noise ends late and starts early. Additionally, it’s northerly facing so no sun on the balcony but plenty of diesel fumes from the trucks and taxis outside. The room itself is desperately tired and the bathroom needs completely replacing. Yesterday the hot water stopped midway through a shower, I presumed it had run out but the heater had tripped the electrics. I raised it next day but by then the whole supply had gone off apparently because of a burst pipe. No communication and no one appearing to know what to do. Oh, nearly forgot, an alarm went off middle of the first night, no one seemed to know how to turn it off as, having stopped for a while, then started again. Perhaps this place should be renamed Fawlty Towers...only problem it’s not funny. It’s possible other room options are far better but the ‘hotel’ is poor Read less

From the minute we arrived to the minute we left everything was great. We received a warm welcome on arrival and our cases were swiftly carried up to our room - we had booked a simple garden room but to our surprise we received a top floor front line room with fabulous view over the marina. The room was spotlessly clean, good size, plenty of storage space, large bathroom with walk in shower, and good size balcony with a sun lounger (we asked for a 2nd one as we like to sit out late afternoon with a drink - it was delivered within 10mins) The bed was extremely comfortable, sheets changed regularly as were the towels. There are tea/coffee facilities available in the reception area and a nice quiet area to sit in the internal court yard. The gardens are very well kept and we were lucky to spot humming birds on a couple of occasions. We understand that there very various grades of rooms, but all we wanted was a clean bed/bathroom with a balcony in a central location and thats exactly what we got. There is a free shuttle bus at the hotel which will ferry customers to Pigeon point,Gallion beach and Shirley heights which is very handy for those who are unable to walk too far. The staff were polite and curteous at all times and their local knowledge was very handy.A big thank you to the hard working cleaners, reception staff and drivers. If you are looking for the all inclusive type accommodation with all the frills ! then this is not for you. It is a very "buzzy" lively area especially at night time due to the number of bars/restaurants in the area but we thoroughly enjoyed it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it Read less

We have just returned from Antigua having spent a wonderful week staying at the Yacht Club Marina Resort. We stayed in a sea view studio with fabulous views of the harbour’s many comings and goings. The accommodation was spotless and spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxed stay at our own pace. We especially want to thank David and the reception staff for their helpfulness in arranging lifts to and from the beach, harbour and even Shirley Heights. Always an immediate response to our request and an exceptionally prompt pick-up too! Towels for the beach made life very easy and the cleaning team were great, very friendly, and kept our room immaculately clean. We loved exploring the area, especially the trails that had us climbing like the goats at times! We can also highly recommend the Pineapple Turnovers from the Dockyard Bakery- not to be missed. But, being able to come back to our room and enjoy the view from such a comfortable balcony, surrounded by splendid wildlife and planting, was such a treat. Just what we needed after a hard day’s sunbathing on Pigeon Point Beach! We may well return next year! Read less

We really enjoyed staying here as a family. Check in was quick. Our room was comfortable and spacious. It was more of an apartment - relatively well equipped - although there were no decent knives or can opener and despite there being 4 cups, one was little more than an espresso cup - minor issues that did not really detract from our enjoyment.… Read more

It was more of an apartment - relatively well equipped - although there were no decent knives or can opener and despite there being 4 cups, one was little more than an espresso cup - minor issues that did not really detract from our enjoyment. There is a stocked fridge and a small, friendly supermarket in the yacht club opposite. There is a decent gym (although the cardio machines need fixing/replacing). It is in a great location - a pleasant walk to Pigeon Beach or into the local town (some decent restaurants) and to Nelsons Harbour (well worth an hour to explore). Would definitely recommend this hotel, would return (Antigua was a favourite Island for us) and we were genuinely sad to leave. Read less

Where to start with the Antigua version of Fawlty Towers. A relatively simple check in was the best it got. The room on first impressions wasn't too bad, decent air con and internet connection. The blood stained sheet wasn't expected nor the wayward bathroom taps with a tendency to flood the basin area. The air of apathy when the staff member was told reflected the resigned air that was a constant among the staff. The wafer thin walls were put to the test when the amorous alcohol induced couple in the adjoining room put in a 0230 performance as did the stereo; high jinks one could say - ignorant pair I would say. The music subsided after an hour or so and that's the end of that I thought. Oh no it isn't as the loving couple then decided on a little noisy (him) coital marathon. Let's just hope for the child's sake that Daddy didn't put in a winning performance. The complaint about the noise the following day was about as useful as Labour's doorstep election campaign - pointless. Check out won the day when being accused of having drinks from the mini bar.
