Image of the Tripadvisor rating Basic room and service in fabulous location

After spending 5 days there in January, I don't think we will be back. On the positive side, the hotel is in a fabulous location right in the heart of Falmouth dock with the superyachts. And close to two fabulous beaches (Pigeon Beach and Galleon Beach) which the staff will shuttle you there free of charge. However, the rooms are basic at best - bed and shower. Travelodge is better. And getting any form of service is a pain - 2 days to fix a safe and a requested balcony chair never arrived in 5 days. I would suggest that you use this if you just need a bed for a few nights, do not go if you are expecting a 'resort' experience. The location means that there are great bars and restaurants only a few yards away, so you do not really need the 'resort' element. Read less

The top sea view suite was perfect, large welcoming room with spacious bathroom and balcony with table and chairs, loungers and even a hammock to swing in the breeze. The view across the harbour was amazing, especially at night when all the yachts were lit up. WIFI took time to get connected but then worked faultlessly allowing us to look up the owners of the fabulous yachts moored nearby. The kitchen was stocked with all the equipment needed to make the odd breakfast or lunch meal and the fridge even had a freezer for the ice. The room was attended to daily and spotlessly clean, the gardens beautiful, colourful and everyone around very polite and accommodating. We have loved our stay here and would certainly book again. The noise / music from the harbour can at times be intrusive however this is outside the resort's control. Read less

Only reason for 2 stars is the location. Not at the beach but lots of restaurants, the harbour and easy walk to Nelsons Dockyard. The room in the hotel was grim. The lighting was not good enough to read. The balcony only had one chair and no roof for when it rains. The biggest problem was the interconnecting door. There was no privacy and you… Read more

The lighting was not good enough to read. The balcony only had one chair and no roof for when it rains. The biggest problem was the interconnecting door. There was no privacy and you could hear everything. The yacht club restaurant had the loudest music you can imagine on several nights of the week. The studios may be better but the hotel needs total refurbishment and there is very little service. You have to wait for someone to appear from a back room. I would not stay in the hotel part again. I would not recommend this accommodation to tourists or business travelers. The standard rooms are similar to a 2-star hotel. Due to heavy rain overnight we could not reach the reception due to the pathways being underwater. We walked through the very muddy gardens to access restaurants. Had absolutely no wow factor. In fact I cried on our first day . We’ve been to Antigua several times. And thought we would try something different as we know the area so well. Our room we had needs completely stripping out and redoing. It was so tired no tops on bathroom taps poor shower. The kitchen area had a 2 ring hob but you could only use 1 ring as the knob was missing for the other one!!! I could go on. Won’t be back I’m afraid Read less
