Blue Waters Resort & Spa

Antigua, Caribbean

The hotel

This is a truly superb recently refreshed hotel with elegant surroundings, outstanding service and an enviable location on two white sand beaches lapped by gentle aqua waves, epitomising the Caribbean fantasy. The 17 tropical acres of gardens are beautifully tended and each of the buildings is romantically draped with brightly coloured bougainvillea — just adding to the delightful ambience. There's plenty to do during the day and you'll no doubt be tempted on to the beach by one of a generous array of water sports. Tennis and table tennis are popular and there's an 18-hole golf course 5 minutes away. Wind down in the evening (if you haven't done so already!) with a delicious coconut crush — liberally splashed with local rum — while you watch pelicans dive and swoop for their meals. Your dinner can be taken at one of the hotel's gourmet restaurants, complimented with an excellent Claret from the wine list. An amazing holiday experience.

Absolutely stunning week and on the all inclusive deal we did not need to leave the hotel all week as the variety of restaurants and bars delivered first class food and drinks all week. Easy & direct flights from the UK, very low instances of covid, solid in country controls and good security screening gave confidence to travel. BlueWaters is outstanding on every level. Staff are long serving, very friendly and helpful and observed covid measures really well. Food was of superb quality, good range of choices, very well prepared and service in all restaurants was excellent. We stayed in a Cove Suite which was outstanding. Very spacious, situated in a quite location at one end of the resort, lovely sea views and pool just outside the room that was very relaxing, clean and beautifully situated. Good choice of drinks and entertainment, outside trips to suit all needs and a lovely array of wildlife to observe above and below the water including turtles and reef fish. Watersports team were excellent, lots to do including Hobbie Cats to sail and the team always on hand to help and advise. Excellent team !! We will certainly return again, so tells you all you need to know. Read less

Arrival to the hotel, check in, and room service, all handled feeling safe and following the rules. The kids club was closed but they offered outside activities for the kids to keep them entertained. The breakfast was relaxing as there was not a buffet. Slightly longer wait, depending on the time but I found it nice to not be getting up to get the food. We met many lovely families, had some lovely sundowners and can’t wait to go back. It’s the Caribbean so if you can go and relax- slow down and enjoy it. Staff was always polite and smiling, even with a mask on. Read less

We have recently returned from a fabulous stay at Blue Waters - our first visit to Antigua, and we were very impressed. We had a Cove Suite which was the perfect size for our family of 2 adults and 2 children. It was great to have access to the pool right outside our terrace. There were always plenty of sun loungers available at our cluster of suites and we had our very own barman who did an excellent job of supplying us with cold beer, cocktails and milkshakes- thank you Wingrove. The food was delicious, and whilst things were clearly different due to Covid, the "dine around" worked well and all three restaurants that we ate at offered a good choice of food, and all of high quality. Whilst we missed the traditional "buffet breakfast", the staff made sure we did not miss out on anything - a special thank you goes to Natalia from my son for his supply of chocolate pancakes! We did an island tour one day, but sadly many of the main sights were still closed due to the ongoing pandemic, and it was very sad to see all the businesses closed up down at the cruise port. Like everywhere in the world, Antigua has suffered due to lack of tourism. At the hotel, all the staff wore their masks without exception .. sadly quite a few of the guests did not give the same respect in the reception areas. However what made the holiday so special for us was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Kevin, the general manager, was always on hand to ask how everything was and to make sure our day was going well and Karen checked on us every morning and booked us in for our dinner. There were many others who helped make our holiday so enjoyable - I can not name them all incase I miss anyone out, but thank you to each and everyone of you. Blue Water and its amazing staff exceeded our expectations, and we hope to be back. Read less
