The hotel

This is a truly superb recently refreshed hotel with elegant surroundings, outstanding service and an enviable location on two white sand beaches lapped by gentle aqua waves, epitomising the Caribbean fantasy. The 17 tropical acres of gardens are beautifully tended and each of the buildings is romantically draped with brightly coloured bougainvillea — just adding to the delightful ambience. There's plenty to do during the day and you'll no doubt be tempted on to the beach by one of a generous array of water sports. Table tennis is popular and there's an 18-hole golf course 5 minutes away. Wind down in the evening (if you haven't done so already!) with a delicious coconut crush — liberally splashed with local rum — while you watch pelicans dive and swoop for their meals. Your dinner can be taken at one of the hotel's gourmet restaurants, complimented with an excellent Claret from the wine list. An amazing holiday experience.

Lovely stay. Liked the fact that you can just stroll into the sea; no sharp dips or pebbles. If you are all inclusive you won’t be disappointed . Food excellent and varied . Also a generous mini bar arrangement in your room. Only downside for us was slow bar service . There are lots of staff around. Please put them behind the pelican bar in the evening! The pool bar needs also to be better managed both in terms of stock control ( no beer at 11.30?) and tidiness . Didn’t spoil our stay though. Will prob return , maybe with whole family next time as seemed child friendly. Read less

Special mentions to Nicole, always available to help with a smile, Del and his water sports team for their effervescence and willing and all the team in the Palm restaurant for helping with mealtimes and my husband’s endless requests for your lemongrass and ginger tea! Thank you for taking such good care of us, we loved it and I hope we will return again. Read less

From our check into this tropical paradise, we were surrounded by beauty of the lush gardens, sunshine, and clear blue water with a nice ocean breeze. This resort has a private beach, with clear blue water, along with water sports. The rooms and suites are spacious, with air conditioning , breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. The rooms were clean, equipped with comforts for an enjoyable stay. Blue Waters has a well trained staff from the front desk to the ground crew. We were greeted daily with warm smiles, and genuine hospitality. The Blue Waters staff went above and beyond to cater to our needs, and made us feel Welcome, and Valued during our stay. Thumbs up the entire staff. They three restaurants, one is beach side casual dining, the second is one with Caribbean flair, and lasting our favorite the Cove fine dining. We recommend the fried Lobster tail for starters, followed by Lobster thermidor. Read less

We had a truly beautiful and memorable wedding at Blue Waters, thanks to Mandy and her amazing team. Following our fairly last-minute decision to get married during our holiday, just the two of us (and with minimal planning on our part), we ended up with a lavish, well-organised and pitch-perfect day in an absolutely stunning location. Most importantly, we felt as though we were actually celebrating with friends – such was the care, attention, and genuine happiness for us of Mandy, the registrar, the staff (a big shout-out to June!), our lovely witnesses, and the photographers, a fabulous mother-and-son team who gave us SO many incredible photos. A special mention too to our fellow guests – such lovely people, who made us feel special and cared for. A heartfelt thank you to all! Read less

Just returned from a four-night stay at Blue Waters. We enjoyed it very much, with one exception: They do NOT have a no-smoking policy and the resort is heavily frequented by Brits, who appear to think it's fashionable to smoke (and smoke and smoke) in public. Just returned from a four-night stay at Blue Waters. We enjoyed it very much, with one exception: They do NOT have a no-smoking policy and the resort is heavily frequented by Brits, who appear to think it's fashionable to smoke (and smoke and smoke) in public. Arrgh! However, if you don't mind getting cancer, Blue Waters may be your place. Read on for pros and cons. PROS: A beautiful spot, rising up a rocky hillside from a beautiful beach, with another cove area replete with pelicans. Lovely, mature grounds and nice, if a bit worn and dated, decor (see cons, below). Food and service were excellent here! In fact, they surpassed a much more expensive luxe resort we went to after our Blue Waters stay. Food was plentiful, tasty, fresh, well prepared and ran the gamut from fun buffets (Bloody Mary bar at breakfast!!) to romantic candlelit dinners. We upgraded to a private house (half of Pelican Cottage) and it was stocked with snacks and booze. Wine was a fail, but it was a fail at the luxe property, too. The staff were incredibly friendly, sweet and fun. Everyone, even the groundskeepers. It was my 60th birthday and word got around, so I was cheerily greeted with "Happy birthday" everywhere I went. Staff also noted requests I had made in advance and made every effort -- successfully -- to accommodate. Not sure who gets the credit, but Blue Waters rocks in the service department. We had a concierge, Nicole, dedicated to help with out stay. What a hard worker! She even chased away particularly pesky smokers so I could enjoy our private pool without anaphylaxis. Give Nicole a raise! Overall, the people are Blue Waters' secret sauce. Each evening had live entertainment of a different sort, and we loved it. Very talented musicians that really added to the ambiance. CONS: Very few, other than the smoking. This is an older property, and many of the beachfront rooms date from the 1960s or 1970s. Some wear and tear, and the decor wasn't world-class, but it was good enough. The watersports shop needs some work. It seemed whenever we wanted to do something, it wasn't open, or all equipment was rented. Overall, though, Blue Waters is a nice place with great food and people. Read less
