Blue Waters Resort & Spa

Antigua, Caribbean

The hotel

This is a truly superb recently refreshed hotel with elegant surroundings, outstanding service and an enviable location on two white sand beaches lapped by gentle aqua waves, epitomising the Caribbean fantasy. The 17 tropical acres of gardens are beautifully tended and each of the buildings is romantically draped with brightly coloured bougainvillea — just adding to the delightful ambience. There's plenty to do during the day and you'll no doubt be tempted on to the beach by one of a generous array of water sports. Tennis is popular and there's an 18-hole golf course 5 minutes away. Wind down in the evening (if you haven't done so already!) with a delicious coconut crush — liberally splashed with local rum — while you watch pelicans dive and swoop for their meals. Your dinner can be taken at one of the hotel's gourmet restaurants, complemented with an excellent Claret from the wine list. An amazing holiday experience.

When we arrived at Blue Waters Resort we were met by Nicole, the resort concierge. She told us that there was a surprise for us. She walked us to the far end of the resort and we entered large gray doors which revealed where we would be spending the next 10 days. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined getting upgraded to stay at the Rock Cottage. a secluded compound with 5 bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms, open air living room and dining room, kitchen, bar, infinity pool, plunge pool all surrounded by the gorgeous blue Caribbean waters with amazing 360 views. We also had a dock with access to the Caribbean for swimming and boating. When we decided to extend our trip, the hotel moved us to the Presidential Suite in Villa 3, a spacious 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom unit with amazing views and large outdoor space. The staff at Blue Waters is top notch. Nicole was the most proactive, responsive concierge one can imagine. She touched base throughout the day with us through What’s App to see if we needed anything. She took care of all of our lunch/dinner reservations, and all other sign ups at the resort that were required due to Covid, ie. Fitness center, tennis, etc. She made our stay so stressless and enjoyable. The manager, Kevin was friendly and professional. The waitstaff at Blue Waters were outstanding. Kina, Curtesha, Winsia, and Natalie at breakfast and lunch provided wonderful service and were helpful in catering to any of our special requests. They knew that I was gluten free and did not get to enjoy the croissants and pastries in the bread basket each morning. On our last day, they surprised me with delicious gluten free muffins!! We did a great rum tasting with Tario which I would highly recommend. Owen and Rocky at the boat shack were great with setting us up with kayaks and taking us out for a fun ride on a Hobie Cat. Antigua is an absolutely beautiful island and with a friendly, laid back vibe. We will definitely return!! Read less

Food was absolutely wonderful, varied and more than satisfied my very difficult to please husband (struggles with lack of choice and all inclusive usually). The service, help and information from reception, house keeping, restaurants and bars and even groundsmen was second to none. The beach (though quite small), pools and all communal areas were beautiful and pristine. Praying I will get to go back to this paradise! Felt safe with Covid measures too. Read less

We stayed at Blue Waters for a week in December and it was absolute bliss! A very beautiful setting and the food over all 3 venues was exceptionally good (The Palm, The Cove and Carolyn's) but the best bit about it was the staff; so warm and wonderful. From Jermoy and Liam making bespoke virgin cocktails at Veronica's for our 9 year old to the amazing Tremaine, Elias and John rushed off their feet serving cocktails to thirsty holiday makers at Carolyn's and Saron at the Cove who remembered exactly what my son ate every time to Kina, Sparkle and Natalia at the Palm - the list goes on and on! Also to remember that usually a buffet would be served at the Palm but due to Covid it was all table service and whilst occasionally there would be a blip, in the main it was excellently managed. The rooms are also extraordinarily quiet and we had an interconnecting room and still didn't hear anything which was great. The only slight niggles were tiny like not re-stocking the bar, slight communication issues between different departments so possibly not the slickest of resorts but my goodness, absolutely the warmest and that applies to the guests too - my son met lots of kids and had the best holiday EVER and I think we may well have done too! Wonderful. Read less

Stayed at the rock cottage since we are a large which was truly remarkable experience, particularly during covid since it felt so isolated from the rest of the resort. While the location and surroundings are fantastic, the staff is really exceptional which made the whole experience very smooth. A special shout out to Nicole who went above and beyond to organize us most efficiently and was very responsive. Shenice was fantastic while we were arranging reservations. Roy and Jescian were great as well as chef and servers. Rocky and Dave at the sports center were fantastic as well. Would highly recommend this experience Read less

Overall a very chilled relaxing and classy resort where you can relax knowing your kids are safe and you are being looked after and entertained by a fabulous team - we moved here after a horrendous experience at The Royalton and to say the Royalton has a higher star rating is simply an embarrassment! Kevin and his team should be commended. We will be back again Read less
