First off, let me tell you we only travel and stay at 4-5 star resorts. We are picky about quality- of room, food, drinks, service, etc.. Here’s how Hammock Cove stacked up- Food- always made to order, so we loved loved loved that. The seven course meal was hands down the best service and food we have had IN OUR LIFE, compliments to Marco, he is incredible! We absolutely loved the fine dining meals and offerings at the Lighthouse. Service- they need to do some work in this department. Our ambassadors were quite green and needed training on hospitality. We figured it was a culture thing, and hopefully with time and experience they will improve because service is the weakest part of this resort. We tried to travel one evening to the other resort nearby for some entertainment and it was an EPIC fail, mainly because of the ambassador not having any ideas or concerns on how to get us there. Come to find out it’s not worth the time to go over there, after we arrived there we wish we didn’t put the effort in to that trip! The room- incredible; clean, comfy beds, outstanding shower and bathroom, amazing outdoor patio, bar, etc... A few notes- My husband complained they have no snacks; yes you can order anything at anytime off the menu, but he wanted “chips, candy, “ 🤔🙄 as you can see this was not an issue for me at all... There is absolutely NO entertainment or night life AT ALL WHATSOEVER! So don’t go there thinking you are going to party like a rockstar, unless of course YOU are the party! We went right to bed after dinner, and slept in every day. We were there for 5 days and this was perfect. I think if we were there longer we may have been bored. BUT, it is the perfect place for recharging, relaxing, doing nothing and feeling like royalty! So, this place for me was every bit of five stars! Read less

I have stayed at five-star resorts before, but the attention to detail at this resort sets it apart from the rest. Every single drink was beautifully decorated in the perfect glass, with fruit adornments, in a chilled glass when appropriate. Justin, Lorenzo, and Bobby are masters at the bar. The restaurant had just absolutely delicious food (not your typical resort food by any means) from a master chef, where each meal is plated to perfection. The dining experience is so perfect, as they place all of the correct silverware and wine glasses with each course. Taja is a superstar. The service is the best that I’ve ever experienced- any request we made, was fulfilled and some of the staff members even ran to accomplish what we asked for (Taja ran to the lighthouse one night to get me a rum baba dessert brought to the bar). They learned our names and our tastes and would even make us special drinks based on what we liked. They made this awesome drink for my husband that was a true art form- it had all different layers of alcohol held up with different fruit bridges (thanks Bobby and Joel). The rooms are just the same- all of the little details did not go unnoticed. From the wide doors that perfectly frame the water, to the hanging rack in the bathroom for drying your bathing suits- everything is luxuriously designed. Our vacation ambassador, Sheldon, was fantastic, and my dad’s ambassador, Leon, was also wonderful. They would walk along the beach each day and serve snacks and drinks without you even having to ask for it. Sheldon made sure that they sang happy birthday to me at every meal and they decorated my room for my birthday. I just can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! A couple of things I’d like to see get added before I come back next time: (1) hot tub, (2) entertainment at night (trivia night, newly wed game, live singer, etc.), and (3) rotating breakfast specials like waffles or French toast to add some variety. Otherwise, please stay exactly the same!! Read less

Highlights, for us, were the friendly staff who took the time to get to know all of us, the gorgeous rooms and private patios with customized bar, and the intimate setting. I should also add - food was excellent and all a-la carte (important to us). The crowd is a little older and pretty quiet, so do not choose Hammock Cove for a party vacation. Read less
