So we just got back from a week at the new and 5-Star Resort at Hammock Cove in Antigua. And let’s just say that the best way to describe our experience is by simply saying that Hammock Cove is surely a little slice of Heaven on Earth ! OMG !!!! 😊 The place is more gorgeous than the web site shows it to be. As a matter of fact, the site does not do justice to the Villas. They are more beautiful in person than in pictures. You might not want to leave it at all once you check in. And if that is what you feel like doing for a day or two, no worries, your Ambassador is a quick phone call away! ( you get your own phone to dial for him/her 24/7. No kidding! But of course the grounds, the restaurants and the beach of this Cove ARE just as beautiful as well. The Resort is managed perfectly by the Teams working there. What we mean by that is, whether you are at the beach, or restaurants, bars, spa, etc.. each group of the staff assigned to those places could not do more for you if they wanted to. And their execution of their services to you are perfect.. they are on point ! And as for the Resort as a whole, it is truly beautiful and truly the right place to go to have a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. No, there are no bands blaring music at night. No loud shows or boomboxes blasting on the beach. At night, you and your spouse simply have, as we did, cocktails before dinner, chatted with friends you inevitably make while you’re there as we did, have a Micheline Star dinner prepared by Italian Chef Marco, have an after dinner drink or two, and before you know it, it’s 11 or 12 p.m. ( which was good enough for us after a day of sun and water sports run by ( Julio, Hudson and Dominic )… a great Team ! PS: Hudson and Dominic also manage the small Beach Bar and take food orders while you lounge on your perfectly cushioned lounges. Perfect service from these two Gents! However, to start at the beginning with the Ambassadors assigned to you when you arrive, we had Sheldon and Mike. Sheldon covered the day slot and Mike the night but rotated as well. In any case, you were assured that ANYTHING you needed from the Resort was a quick call away with a quick response from either Ambassadors. For example, twice we had breakfast in the Villa and within 20 minutes or less, Sheldon was there, delivering a hot breakfast with a smile ! The days we went to have breakfast at Irene’s was also a beautiful experience. Allow us to explain… Ordering cappuccinos was, in itself, an experience. Gabriel, the Barista, made them perfectly to order with a design on the top of the coffee, such as a flower, a puppy, tiger, elephant, and who knows what else he could have designed if we had stayed another week!! Too pretty to want to drink the coffee, but drink it as it is to die for !! Then there was the staff at Irene’s restaurant. Beginning with Lorenzo. A perfect, perfect host and manager. Then there was Nicole, Chantel and the rest of the Kitchen and Baking staff that made my B-Day celebration ( a surprise while simply having Lunch ) a very, very memorable one with a small slice of cake and a candle to make a wish. Nice touch guys and gals ! To David at the bar at Irene’s restaurant bar at night , where he was relentless in making sure that our drink choices kept flowing and shots kept coming, thank you. A great bartender AND entertainer with his magical fire drinks ! And to Andre at the Bar at the Lighthouse Restaurant, thank you for making my “James Bond” Martinis. A true professional bartender. Cheers to Andre and James Bond as well ! And thank you to Angie and the two masseuse’s at the Spa. Angie was the perfect Host at the Spa and manager of the mall boutique at the Cove. A perfect host as well. On a side note, let’s just say that we have traveled to Thailand and Cambodia where massages are known to be one of the best. Although we don’t remember their name, ( so sorry ☹ ) we certainly will remember their Doubles Massage as being one of the best we’ve had. Thailand and Cambodia, watch out ! Lastly, we want to mention the staff that did the daily cleaning and turn down at night of our Villa. We apologize for not remembering their names but the Villas were made immaculate when they were cleaned each day, and were made nice and cozy by the time we came back at night ready to go to bed. If I missed anyone, our apologies once again, but let it be known that we want all of you to know that we had a PERFECT vacation because of YOU and we’ll be booking at a return trip in March of 2021 and hope that ALL of you at Hammock Cove join us once again to make our stay as memorable as this one was! Thank you All ! 😊 Read less

This hotel is a joke! It certainly is not a five star hotel. I'll begin from the top with management. Although the GM Rosario appears to be sweet, she does not have the qualifications or business smarts to run a hotel that's attempting to come off as high end. This hotel is a joke! It certainly is not a five star hotel. I'll begin from the top with management. Although the GM Rosario appears to be sweet, she does not have the qualifications or business smarts to run a hotel that's attempting to come off as high end. Her lack of experience shows in the poor performance of her staff members. The "guest ambassadors" (butlers) were too aggressive in ensuring they secure a large tip and I found Maxwell to be a little bit too raunchy for my taste. I caught him staring at me inappropriately. The spa is overly priced and although I enjoyed my massage with Elizabeth it was not worth the hefty price tag and I felt bad throughout the entire massage because she looked as though she was being held against her will and could start crying at the drop of a hat. The roads that leads to this hotel is so bad you would need comfortable boots or sneakers to go on your walks or hikes. With all the money they charge, you'd think they would fix the roads. The only good things that had a five star quality would be the food and the fabulous Chef Marco, the house yogi Simonetta a very lovely and charming lady who teaches more of a therapeutic style of yoga that is user friendly for everyone. As someone who was a Marketing Executive I must say it was smart on their part hiring a yogi with Indian background. That was a brilliant marketing strategy. Last but not least the location and views from this hotel is simply breath taking and overall the island itself is worth visiting again but next time I will be staying at different hotel. Read less

Overall we had a great experience at Hammock Cove. We went in January, so it had only been open for 1 month, but it seemed like they had already worked out most of the kinks. The size was great. It never felt crowded anywhere in the resort and we were always able to get chairs on the beach and at the restaurants. As this was adults only, there weren't kids running around so it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff (especially the bartenders and maids) were awesome and always happy to help. The villas were super relaxing with lovely views (we didn't get the ocean front room, but we could still see the water) and comfy chairs. The cons were minor, but for the price we paid, they were enough to take this to 4 stars instead of 5. The food was good, but I wasn't blown away and there weren't a lot of options so if you are a vegetarian or have some other dietary restriction, you might have a little difficulty here. That being said, the white pizza, the Wednesday night dinner at Lighthouse, and most of the desserts were pretty amazing. Food service could also be a little slow sometimes. For example, I think that our table was forgotten about at lunch a couple of times. Once we got staff attention though, they were happy to help. All-in-all, the pros definitely outweighed the cons and I would recommend Hammock Cove. I would bet the cons will be worked out within the next few months anyway. Read less

The location (near Devil's Bridge) is great, the villas are spacious, with wonderful showers, private outdoor sitting areas, private plunge pools and more. One would think that being an all-inclusive the food would be average, but this is certainly not the case. What makes Hammock Cove incredibly special is the PEOPLE. Everyone made sure your experience was special and I truly mean EVERYONE. I am going to try and make special mention of a few: ROSARIO: Thank you for all of your help! Our ambassadors DARYLL, MAXWELL and SHELDON: You guys rock! DOMINICK, DEVENY and HUDSON at the pool bar: Always smiling and making the perfect drinks. DEVENY thank you for your sense of humor! LORENZO, NICOLE, ELVIRA,JEHEMIA, SHANTEL: You made every morning a pleasure! JULIO and ENRON: Thank you for everything at the beach. Spending a little time sailing with JULIO was great. ANDRE, JOEL and AZALEA: The best bartenders!!!!! ANDRE thank you for all of your laughs and introducing us to new drinks! TROY and KIEV: Thank you for taking care of everything at the Lighthouse. MARVIN: Everyday you asked what we needed for our villas. Always smiling and it was much appreciated. We are looking forward to coming back very soon and thank you for making this trip perfect!!
