My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional service and amenities at the Hammock Cove Resort. Our villa (#1) had a spectacular view of the ocean and Devil’s Bridge. The room was stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There were plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas to accommodate the guests. The staff at the beach were always courteous and came by frequently to ask if you needed any beverages. They also served lunch and snacks at the beach from noon through 4 pm. The highlight for our family were the dinners at the Lighthouse restaurant and the cooking class with Chef Marco. The Lighthouse serves a 7-course dinner with wine pairing (optional $40 pp). Silvia (sommelier) was very helpful in explaining the various wines that were offered with our meal. The staff made this vacation a very memorable experience!! A special shoutout to the following staff: The Ambassadors - Pebs, Phares and Darryl The Mixologists / Bar Staff - Lorenzo, Joel, Andre and Bobby Lighthouse Staff - Troy, Kiev and Pabo (sp?) As a couple in their mid 60s, we have travelled to the Caribbean lots of times now, and this holiday was definitely something out of the ordinary. Upon arrival, welcome cocktails, social distancing was exemplary welcome we were made to feel at ease immediately with all the Precautions the hotel had in place. Room 35, was out of this world, from the bed, plunge pool and sunloungers to the well stocked bar on the terrace, there was nothing more you could ask for - the breeze was absolutely welcomed. As those who enjoy the occasional cigarette, we felt we could do this in our own company, out of the way of other residents. The grounds were immaculate, nothing short of spectacular and a pleasure to walk around. Beaches were fantastic, with toilets close by, the bar and staff were on hand at any opportunity to assist. Reception staff as well as the ambassadors were on there as and when we needed them, without being intrusive. The best part... The premium branded drinks were served perfectly, the staff soon learning individual tastes and preference to us as a couple - across all four bars!... and the food. The choice was unmatched to any hotel we have been to. The Lunches were casual as and when we wanted, and the dinners were out of this world. One exceptional experience was our anniversary dinner (43 year) which was held at Pergoda, was created by Chef Marco... A man with such a massive heart of gold, he treated us like a King and Queen, and provided us with a lifetime worth of memories from our experience with him. The Management - Helpful, loving, respectful and more than willing to assist. Overall - Whilst we’re in a pandemic, you were always safe, well rested and most importantly left to enjoy your holiday. We cannot recommend this enough - we were lucky enough to stay for 16 nights, so feel we’re extremely fortunate to have experience all aspects that this hotel, the staff and It’s amenities had to offer. I want to start out by saying that this resort was everything we expected it to be. My boyfriend and I are avid travelers and were in need of a relaxing vacation to get away from the chaos of all things 2020. We were also celebrating our birthdays. Everyone was extremely kind. We did our research prior to selecting this resort and we chose Antigua to start, as they had low numbers of COVID cases and had our safety measures in place to ensure the numbers remained low. There are two restaurants on this quaint resort and there is also room service available. We experienced all three. My favorite dish from The Lighthouse was the lobster spaghetti! The Bistro serves delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had breakfast at the Bistro, as it has outdoor seating and a beautiful view of the ocean. While at the beach, we utilized the cordless phone to connect to our personal ambassador who would bring us whatever we’d like. I’m a super foodie and I utilized this service to order food. Thursday there was this chicken soup and curry chicken that was absolutely amazing!!! I really need the recipe for the soup :-). For in-room dining, we ordered as much as we liked and it was delivered in a timely manner. Again, all safety precautions were in place with our Ambassor(s) knocking on our door and we would retrieve the items from them, as the resort wanted to limit as many people in and out of the rooms for the safety of all. The room: although our room was not directly overseeing the ocean, we had an ocean view and our own personal plunge pool. While the plunge pool wasn’t heated- it was a nice addition, especially considering COVID. There was also a hammock swing on the deck, which we didn’t utilize because the rain had soaked the cushion. There was an outdoor mini bar that did not disappoint; there were full size bottles of wine, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The bathroom was made for royalty, with dual showers and sinks. The toilet was not behind a closed door but it was behind a small wall. There was a separate linen closet where you could hang your clothing and iron. The room itself was a nice size. Our bed faced the large sliding doors which gave a stunning view of the plunge pool and ocean. (See photo). It also came stocked with a Keurig, k-cups and everything you’d need to make coffee or tea. There was also a collection of books in case you are an avid reader. While everyone was extremely kind, there were several staff who stood out to us for their exceptional service: Kenya (Ambassador) Darryl (Ambassador) Pabo (Ambassador) Troy- the lighthouse Lorenzo- bar tender manager Nicole-waitress bistro His name escapes us but there was a gentleman who was stationed by the pool and often assisted with the water sports- he was wonderful as well! The staff at check-in/check-out were everything you’d want: courteous, patient, respectful, kind and efficient. Their names escape us as well, as we did not have much interaction with them but we so appreciated their service. Also during our trip, as we ate breakfast Friday morning, the Owner of the resort came around and introduced himself, as he wanted to thank us for visiting and to ensure we were having a great time. I found that to be very admirable. A highlight for our trip was on my birthday, the staff surprised me (by way of my boyfriend) with a homemade cake. I’m not sure what kind of cake it was but my boyfriend and I agreed that it was the best cake we had tasted. Thank you! We did not have any issues during our stay. When we needed something, we asked and the staff delivered. Thank you for making our experience memorable! Read less
