Let me start by listing the pros of the hotel: The staff are WONDERFUL and really make the hotel as great as it is. They all go out their way for you and are so friendly! HUGE shout-out to Keith from watersports, Kevin, Daniel at the bar, Ann Marie, Vincent, Judith, Cheryenne and Randi The hotel has fantastic activities: watersports, day trips which are only for the hotel guests (so you don’t mingle with anyone outside the ‘bubble’), great evening entertainment, the tortoise sanctuary which was so cute, the coffee shop providing complimentary hot and iced coffee (and non dairy milk options). The cons of the hotel: the food and timing of service generally. The food options are limited and you have to book the restaurants in advance or you’ll lumbered with the buffet which isn’t great. There’s an outdoor snack bar by the pool but can take up to 45 mins for a burger. They are understaffed for sure and I really hope they can fix this quickly. Service can be slow eg if you call reception for something and they send someone up it can take literally hours. Again, it’s down to timing and staff availability. If the hotel improved the food options, and the punctuality of service they will really improve their ratings! Read less

We were sold a luxury break in an exclusive, Virgin T4 of 5 Resort. What we got was a Spanish style stone floor, basic room with poor finish and maintenance. Just arrived here and we are very disappointed. 1st impressions count, right? The room, an Ocean View’ is about as basic as they come and isn’t in the best of repair. The quality of the finish is not where we would expect, with a 2cm gap under the room door (rolled a towel up to cover the gap, already been greeted by the local wildlife) Everything appears to function but for the 1000’s we spent we are not happy. I don’t expect a safe with no lock, a toilet which rocks on the floor, a rusty clothes rail, and a stained ironing board (even if I won’t use it) We have immediately raise the ‘over-sell’ at reception, showing the pictures on Virgin Holiday’s website but our ‘rep’ isn’t in so we will have to speak with her in the morning (woke up at 2am - standard for UK travel / time zone and writing this) I understand that this a pandemic but for me, this basic stuff. After being stuck in a pandemic for 16 months we were excited to get away but this was short lived at Pineapple Beach club. The room had a large king bed, which was comfortable but the room it’s self was very basic and we were greeted with a leaking toilet. We opted for a sea view which was lovely. The complex is nicely maintained and their are options of pools you can visit. Unfortunately what let it down for us was some of the staff seemed quite rude. We have been to a number of all inclusive resorts and this one by far was lacking the most in food options. We understood that restrictions where in place however the quality of food served up in the buffet was poor and very limited choices. We opted to try the Italian and waited an hour and half for our starters, we had to ask for bread to put on the table and was never offered a drink. The quality of food again was poor. The only nice restaurant on the complex was the Pineapple grill the food was great only downfall is you can never get booked because of the above reasons. We were lucky enough to get a refund and leave the resort after five days, experiencing a higher standard of all inclusive at another resort and what we came away for. We did bump into some other couples at our new resort that had also transferred hotels. If you do stay at the Pineapple Beach be prepared to pay for your COVID tests which cost $130 and they add on a resort charge at $24 a day! which we paid neither for at our new resort. I’m not one to write reviews or complain but I feel this hotel was sold to us as a 4 star ‘elite’ resort but it didn’t live up to those expectations. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating A great holiday spoilt by poor management

We arrived after a long journey to be told our room was not ready, not a problem told it would be ready in 10 mins an hour later we are still waiting, if we were told it was going to be over an hour fine we could have gone and had a coffee, the lady was very rude when I ask for a real time we could get to the room , virtually threw the keys at me,… Read more
We arrived after a long journey to be told our room was not ready, not a problem told it would be ready in 10 mins an hour later we are still waiting, if we were told it was going to be over an hour fine we could have gone and had a coffee, the lady was very rude when I ask for a real time we could get to the room , virtually threw the keys at me, when we went to the room it was still not ready. My wife suffers from a medical problem and found the bed too hard, asked for the room to be serviced as it was due and padding to be put under the sheet, nothing happened, a blue bag turned up at our door, not sure what was in it, phoned reception to told they would call back nothing happened, phoned again and asked to speak to duty manager, not available, asked if she could call me or come to our room , after 8 hours still no servicing of the room and no contact from management. It is a shame that all the good work of the staff who are friendly and very pleasant is spoilt by very poor management. It is hard to say do not come as it is very nice but if you have a problem management are not interested in solving the problem . Finally a very nice lady turned up to service our room, but without having chased them up it wouldn’t have happened. They need to seriously look at their customer care training for management, and as a last comment we never did get a call back Read less

Personally we had a great time. Our room called ocean views was lovely - basic decor and soft bed - but great balcony with great view. Ac was fine . Not a wow bedroom but ok made up for by view. Hotel has lovely garden Free coffee bar and drinks bar which was great Gym amazing and not busy with two good tennis courts Car hire on site so could get out and about as nothing local. Several pools a d one turtle pool has a huge fan over it! Yes they were cleaning it regularly I saw so perhaps listened to last reviewer 3 resturant’s that were nice . Did not like queuing and limited seating for the table service two restaurants Filet Mignon extra was lovely other steaks avoid . Bk a buffet well served with options They lack an allergy friendly approach but was not a big issue Overall I really liked it but a week was enough we moved for second week . Many of the guests flouted the mask rule and social distancing laws and were v rude to staff and guests if reminded. This was unfair and one felt for the staff who were all , all of the time wearing masks. The hotel was full which is a good sign for any hotel ! One big plus over Carlisle bay and other hotels it was adults only. I loved the Giant Scrabble board going to get one for our place! Lots of activities Some of the evening music was really good The owners have really tried to think of everything possible ! Read less
