The Chairman’s Suite is absolutely nice. One restaurant I particularly loved was The Outhouse Bar & BBQ, it’s a definite must try. They have everything you need from a large gym, classes, a public beach loaded with activities, pools, bars, tennis courts and the list goes on. Not to mention evening entertainment. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Strongly recommend. Read less

My wife and I have just returned from our fifth visit to Pineapple Beach Club since we first discovered the resort in 2016. Having travelled widely across the Caribbean and stayed in some truly luxurious resorts, there is something about this place that draws us back time and time again. It’s not a high end luxury hotel; it is a rustic and authentic Caribbean resort with no frills or fripperies. You won’t get a fully stocked mini bar, room service, your bed turned down at night or drinks and fresh fruit delivered to your sun lounger through the day. You won’t get fluffy robes and slippers and you certainly don’t need to wear designer gear for glitzy dinners. There are no airs and graces, it’s not pretentious, and therein lies its unique charm. What you will get is a very laid back, relaxing place where you are made to feel truly welcome. It’s a small resort which is easy to navigate on foot, perfect to just wind down and escape from life for a while. Rooms: We always choose the Tropical Waterfront rooms; they have the most stunning views and are steps away from all the amenities. They also have the benefit of private balconies so are quiet and peaceful. The room is well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Bathrooms are a little dated, but work perfectly well and have good water pressure in the showers. We have stayed on both the upper and the lower floors of this block and both are equally lovely. Dining: Food continues to be of a good standard and I can’t imagine anyone going hungry here; breakfasts are particularly fabulous. We ate at the Pineapple Grill one evening, which was lovely although we do find this restaurant lacking in atmosphere at times. It would be the perfect setting for a more modern cuisine similar to Tao, the Asian Fusion restaurant at BodyHoliday in St Lucia. On this trip we did not eat at the Italian restaurant but it has always been very good in the past. We ate at Nicole’s over at The Verandah Resort next door one evening. There is a surcharge for this of 45USD pp but it was excellent food and worth it. On a previous visit we had a private dinner up in the hilltop gazebo; this was AMAZING. The food was top class in the most magical setting. It’s not cheap, but absolutely well worth it for a special occasion or celebration. Beach/Pool: The beach was pristine and the whitest we’ve ever seen it, being free from the Caribbean seaweed problems. The resort is on the Atlantic side of the island so the sea can be a little choppy at times but the benefit of this is the welcome breeze. I think the only ‘negative’ we experienced on this trip was a seemingly new culture of early risers to reserve sunbeds, something we have not experienced here before. People were out at 6am or even earlier, reserving beds on the beach and at the pools with towels and belongings. If you weren’t down for breakfast by 7.30am you stood little chance getting a sunbed at the main pool. The infuriating thing about this is that many of these beds went unused until into the afternoon. We even witnessed the same people reserving the ‘best spots’ at the beach AND the pool; it’s so unfair and disrespectful to other guests. Staff: The staff here are lovely and will do anything to help your holiday go well. Of course they are on ‘Caribbean Time’ so you might have to wait a few minutes to get served at the bar, but it’s not a problem. If you have any issues or feedback, Sanjay the resort manager is fantastic and will always make time to listen to you and resolve anything. It’s worth going to the manager’s cocktail party on a Monday evening because you get to know who to talk to if you need anything. Excursions: The staff at the tour desk will help you plan as much as you want to do. This is the kind of resort where you can happily while away a week doing nothing, but if it’s your first trip to the island we recommend getting out and about to see the place. Our top trips would be: Stingray City, Shirley Heights (Thursdays are less crowded than Sundays), Nelson’s Dockyard, a wander around St John’s, the Donkey Sanctuary and a catamaran trip (we love Wadadli Cats for a full day excursion but the half day trip to Bird Island with Calypso Cat is also excellent). If you want a bespoke tour of the island, ask the tour desk to contact their driver Mary Emily Baltimore; she is amazing and takes us wherever we want to go, helping us to plan days out according to what we want to do. All in all we had another wonderful week to recharge the batteries and can’t wait to go back for visit number 6. Sure, there are much fancier resorts available and if you want 5 star then it’s probably not for you. But if you want a down to earth, relaxing place in a stunning location, look no further. We came here with my 2 adult daughters to celebrate my 60th birthday this week. Our rooms are lovely with great views. The beach and pools are very nice. But we're disappointed by a few things here compared to other Caribbean hotels at the same price. The lack of drinks and water in the room refrigerator which we had to buy from the shop when it is all inclusive is not advertised. Paying for expensive WiFi which doesn't work well is ridiculous. The plumbing in the washrooms at the pool and restaurant didn't work most mornings. Having to queue to book a table for dinner at the 2 Al a carte restaurants taking 30 minutes in the morning is also ridiculous. The food is good but the Italian restaurant was not good at all when we were there. The lunch up at the Outpost was delicious. We found the staff polite and did their job but they were not particularly friendly or engaging with us compared to our experiences in Jamaica for example. We also did not get any offers of a drink by staff at the beach barbecue on the Wednesday evening. The service was terrible. We had to go to the bar ourselves despite other tables being served. However it was the lack of a response from emails from my husband about my birthday that disappointed most. There was no offer of wine or flowers in our room or anything which is so different from other hotels. They only gave a birthday message on dessert because we told them at restaurant booking in morning. Overall we had a lovely holiday despite the issues here. It could have been better. We will not return here as there are plenty of other beach front hotels at the same price with much better facilities. Read less

When we arrive there, we were greeted with a soothing towel and a cool glass of rum punch and a welcoming staff. We were then taken to our room, pool terrace room 408, which looked to have recently been updated. We loved the room and the location to everything was great. It didn't have an ocean view but with a small resort, the ocean isn't far away. It had a buffet, 2 specialty restaurants, a snack bar and an afternoon place up on the hill called the Outhouse. They were all great! Didn't have any bad meals. And the entertainment crew was an added bonus. If you get a chance to visit this gem, do it, I recommend it highly!! If you come, book the island tour and stingray city. We did the island tour for the history of the island. Stingray city just because and it was really a treat. Read less
