We had a sea view room which was upstairs with a shared balcony which wasn’t great as people were walking past so not at all private. Our room was a decent size but could have been brighter. The food, oh dear breakfast was OK but after 2 weeks got boring. Joanne on the egg station was great, friendly and efficient. Lunch and dinner in the the Topaz restaurant was poor, we are not fussy eaters but we’re really disappointed which the food. The Outhouse had lovely views but we didn’t rated the food. The coffee shop was good, Renee was lovely and always smiling, shame the cake selection got boring. We did eat a couple of nights in the Pineapple Grill, the first night we enjoyed it but were disappointed on the second visit. It was our first visit to Antigua but we will not be back. Read less

Our favourite place to eat was the Outhouse Bbq on the hill.Lovely views and the food was good. The snack bars food was lovely but had to wait about 20mins or more for food. There needs to be a better system for ordering. Although there was a ticket machine in order to get your food in order there was only ever tickets in it once. People just came up and pushed in front to order. The Topaz buffet was not to our liking . Very limited choice of food .Only soup for starter.Three different cakes for dessert. .Main course a roast ,1 fish dish,2 other meat dishes .We are not fussy people but haveing visited several other Caribbean countries and had much better food and choice this fell short of our expectations.Having said that the breakfast choice and food was good.Although most mornings had ran out of glasses and cups.Hotel was nowhere near full so how they get on when it is I don’t know. You still cannot help yourself to the main buffet food due to covid although you can continental . Cannot see the difference. Then of course is the Resort charge ,tax and charity payment when you leave.Adding a substantial fee to your holiday. This hotel is not cheap and added charges that you don’t get in other at other hotels brings it into a higher expectation of what we expect and for that reason won’t be returning. Nice garden room with sea view. Great staff/service and we were happy with the food options (but note - we are not "foodies". We like nice quality food but are not fussy eaters) . Buffet was good. The other two restaurants were very nice too. Our favourite place to eat on the resort was their lunch time BBQs (on the hill with lovely sea views). Great tasty ribs/chicken, fish and salad options here. Basic - but lovely atmosphere - very chilled. Excellent gym (compared to many all inclusive hotels we have stayed at). Lovely staff throughout the resort. Choice of 3 pool areas so something to suit all tastes and a fantastic beach. One of the bars had sports screens which we were pleased to see showed premier league football. American sports also shown at the same time. This side of the island was perfect for us (we like it to be a bit on the quiet side). Reasonably priced taxi fare to go the to more touristy side and see the sights if you like that type of thing. We spent 10 days sunbathing and then had one day out with a guide for a full day tour - perfect for us. I hope to return here one day as it was a wonderful holiday on all counts. I particularly like the fact they took Covid seriously and were not afraid to politely ask those guests who had slightly narcissistic tendencies to do the basics like wash their hands and wear a mask in the crowded/public spaces like the bars and snack areas etc. Read less

Let me start off by letting you know what kind of travelers we are. My husband brings several books and likes to sit by/in the pool with a drink and relax. I enjoy snorkelling, water sports, and relaxing. We also both like participating in resort activities and a couple excursions. The staff at Pineapple were FABULOUS. From the moment we checked in until we left, we were incredibly impressed with their welcoming personalities, helpfullness, and overall customer service. There are several people I want to highlight Enteraintment staff - Anne Marie, Deshawn, Anika, - amazing from daytime to nighttime activities. From watersports, Jeremiah helped me learn to sail a hobie cat and was really great company. We went when covid still required us to take a test to get there, wear masks around the resort, and a test to get back. All in all I don't think that had a negative effect on our vacation at all. The food at the resort was good. The buffet had great breakfast and carving stations for dinner. I do have a criticism about the italian restaurant because we were seated at 7:30 and didnt get our main course until almost 9:00, not sure if they had an error in the kitchen. Then we went to the grill another night and the chef provided intermediary tasting courses like fruit bruscetta and a sorbet shot. The food there was fantastic. The outhouse had AMAZING bbq and the staff were very friendly. The entertainment staff went above and beyond to make a really awesome experience. My husband and I got involved in most activities from jewerly making, trivia, kayak racing, goofy games, and volleyball. The staff who worked there (highlighted above) always had a smile on their face. One day Anika played pool with us for like an hour and we learned a lot about her and how covid affected the island with changes to tourism, it was very enlightening. The nightime entertainment was very well rounded. There was a fire dancer, steel drum band, singers, and karaoke. We enjoyed it and there was no pressure to be involved, but it was a very fun welcoming environment (I am pretty outgoing with stuff like that), but plenty of people just observed and that was nice too. The pools were really nice, especially the one with the shallow area so you be half in half out of the water. I thought not having a swim up bar would affect me, but it really did not. The tranquility pool was also really nice one day because it was like laying in a waterfall sound machine with a beautiful view. Part of the reason I picked this resort was for snorkelling. When we went it was kinda choppy so you have to be comfortable maneuvering in between the sections of reef or you could bump up against them. Plenty of small fish and hermit crabs to see. I went to the deeper edge of the reef and saw larger heads of coral and bigger fish. This was some of hte best stands of coral on this trip that I have seen. We also did the calypso cat trip which was fantastic. 3 great spots to snorkel with turtles, huge seastars, lots of fish and beautiful turquoise water. If you want to go sailiing, make sure you know what you are dong if you want to go alone OR be honest that you don't really have experience. There were a couple days where people SAID they know how to sail and the staff had to save them. It's a great place to learn to sail a hobie cat (I knew the fundamentals of sailing, but the ocean, reef, and a 2 hull boat provide a lot of challenges) One day we also went into St. Johns which was really enlightening to see how people live that don't rely on internet for everything including paying bills and shopping. It makes you realize how different many places are compared to the US and the amenities/conveniences we have here. The people were friendly and the souvenirs were a good deal. One tip though, if you go in the shops near the cruise ship port, be preapred for them to "suggest" a lot to you. All in all a REALLY wonderful well rounded trip. Thanks to the staff for making a fantastic post-covid vacation for us!!! Read less
