I am giving this resort 3 stars because the biggest complaint was the fact that we did not have any hot water in our room except the last day of our stay. We stayed 4 nights. We stayed in a Pool terrace room, which was very clean. The only other complaint that I have about the room is there is absolutely not enough light. You have to open all your blinds to get sufficient light. The plus, was that it was a pool literally outside your room and the pool was not crowded at all. Very nice. There is a bar right by the pool, but it was not open at all during our stay so we had to walk to the main bar if we wanted a drink. The pool also closed at 6 everyday. It would have been nice if it closed at least by 10, but keep that in mind. This is not the resort for you if you want to be catered to or are used to a ‘Sandals’ type of experience. There is no stocked fridge or bar in the room. Water is scarce, you either get it at the restaurants, by glass at the bar, or you have to pay for it at the gift shops. There are also no ice machines or ATMs on the property. We dined at Topaz, Orchid, Outhouse, Pineapple Grille, and Pelican Snack Grille. All of the food was decent. There were some options that I didn’t care for. Service was great. Outhouse is all the way on a hill and a little challenging for us to get a cart called to get back. If you have mobility issues, this would not be the location for you unless you can for sure get a cart to transport you. The orientation is not needed unless you just want to do it. everything on the resort is walkable and close to each other. The gift shop is expensive. It was good for picking up snacks and water. There are a few local vendors on the beach, I would suggest that or some other local area. The coffee shop and team are amazing ! Solange is amazing also! Her service is remarkable. We also did a dinner on the beach. The food was the best we had out of all of the meals on the resort. If You choose a private dining , I would suggest the gazebo or something else if you want more privacy since there is not a private area on the beach. People were literally sitting almost next to us, and there were plentv of open options. It was the best experience we had. The beach was not crowded, no problem getting a chair. We booked GMan for a Shirley heights excursion. Highly recommend him . Read less

A fabulous holiday, yes it’s not trimmed and perfect but it is authentic and friendly. Don’t go expecting 5* Mexico but go expecting a chilled, welcoming Caribbean vibe with a great beach and friendly staff and you won’t be disappointed. If you want a more modern option and better rooms then go to the sister hotel The Veranda. We had a day pass ( can go as many times as you like and use all facilities and eateries) but felt the hotel lacked an atmosphere so only returned for an evening meal. The pool is better at the Veranda but the beach isn’t! We were really pleased we stayed at PBC. Great food and drinks (international brands too) at all restaurants and fabulous coffee shop. The outhouse is a must opens one evening and every lunch times. Only criticism is that there wasn’t a cocktail menu - so lots of googling to find what cocktail I wanted! Bar staff knowledgeable and happy to keep you hydrated 🫢. We booked excursions on the beach with G man - friendly and not pushy. Day time activities fun if you wish to participate, evening entertainment- ok, they try very hard but repetitive (we stayed 2 weeks and same in second week as first) but enjoyable, especially carnival night and steel band. Pros Beach, bar staff, food - especially the outhouse and pineapple grill. Beds super comfy! Improvements No air con in restaurants (but you get use to it!), needs a cocktail menu! Rooms a little dated but lovely view from room 209. (Ground floor partial ocean view) 1 st floor views in this block were great! We would definitely return Read less

We had a great time at Pineapple Beach Club. The gems of the resort are people working there and the beach! Reading 1 or 2 stars reviews I want to ask those people "give me the name of the resort which met your expectations and I will go there!". There is no ideal place. Our room was basic but clean with tiled floors which is important for me from hygienic point of view. Mattresses are comfortable, I slept like a newborn. Air conditioner is quiet and well functioning. Plus there is a ceiling fan. My complaint about low hot water pressure was not addressed. Food is good to very good. Always choices for fish and meat dishes. Several sides. Gluten free opinions for bread and muffins. Not impressive fruit selection. Birds in the buffet restaurant can be annoying. We were negatively surprised with la carte breakfast on the morning of our departure. (At the Topaz restaurant wich is normally buffet.) Seemed like it was a different place with different service. We spent 1 hour(some people said, 1,5h) of the valuable morning beach time just sipping water (not quickly refilled) and waiting for order to be taken. Food we received (again after long wait ) was disappointing and not exactly what we ordered. Some people left and we would do so if we should not eat before departure. Good that we had enough time before check out. On the contrary, La carte dinner the night before was an absolute pleasure! Life nightly entertainment was great and various. There are billiard and couple of ping pong tables, board games and library. Pools are great but we mostly use beach and the ocean. There are a lot of trees and hats on the beach (no fights for shady area, no early morning reservations). Unlimited beach towels. Restrooms are everywhere (nice and clean) Ocean water was amazingly clean and warm. All resort territory is beautiful and well maintained. For coffee and some cold drinks go to the coffee shop.) Bars did not have menus. So as being not a cocktail guru I ordered mohito and it was good. Take some island tours. Antigua is beautiful and have old history. Overall we found Pineapple Beach resort nice welcoming and beautiful. We will return. Read less

I visited Antigua with my family for a long-anticipated celebration to mark a milestone year for my parents. We arrived full of excitement and optimism. We left feeling incredibly grateful for the magnificent experience at the Pineapple Beach Club. The location is just heavenly. The sound of the waves, the soft white sand, the teal blue sea, the tropical greenery, and the glorious Caribbean sunshine made this the perfect escape from the fast-paced life and inconsistent spring weather back in the UK. The atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful, with many friendly and amiable staff members bringing character and fun to the resort. Special appreciation goes to Wallace and Renée in the coffee shop, Solange at guest services, and Kemoir at the Sly Mongoose Bar. Frankie, the Yoga Instructor, was great too. There were many more, and I wish I could remember all the names of those who deserve a mention! The resort offered a good range of on-site activities, excursions, and amenities to suit our varying interests. It was great to try some new activities and visit tourist attractions across the island. The Stingray City excursion was a highlight for everyone. As a history lover, I also found Nelson's Dockyard to be intriguing. Speaking of memorable experiences, the panoramic view of the sunset and the vibrant evening entertainment at Shirley Heights is a must for any visitor. The rooms were basic but very clean and comfortable. My parents had an ocean view that looked incredible from the photos they took. The service was rapid whenever we needed assistance - yes, we were amongst those annoying guests who left their keycards in their room. I've been blessed to have had many fantastic trips with family and friends over the years. While I cannot choose an all-time favourite, I have no doubt that the May 2024 holiday in Antigua will always be cherished. Read less

What a lovely island!! After a LOT of research and truly wanting to snorkel off the beach, I landed on Pineapple Beach for our family trip with 20 year old daughter. We had to book 2 rooms but were able to be right beside each other in prem Oceanview rooms. Yes, there were a lot of stairs but we are fit and had no problem. Big bonus to these rooms, full size loungers on the covered balcony so we moved daughters to ours and had area for 3 of us to relax in mornings and early evenings. Bathrooms were huge and well stocked. So we arrived around 4pm and got into rooms. Bellman suggested going to desk to try to get dinners for next 2 nights so we talked with Anika and were able to book Italian for Sunday night (Mother's Day) and Pineapple Grill for Monday. The next morning I waited about 15 minutes to be able to get day pass for Verandah and book dinner there. Following day I waited about 5 minutes to book Wednesday night dinner at Outpost. So for those that complain about getting into restaurants, I had NO problems at all. We ate at buffet Saturday night and it was fine, typically AI buffet. Kenore at Mongoose bar made us great drinks so we enjoyed the evening. Tricia was our server at Pedro's, she was fantastic and fun. Dinner was really good and enjoyed our Mother's Day. Pineapple Grill was really good as well. Baeshetna talked with us about the island and was so friendly. Stacey Ann was our server at breakfast most days and she started our days out delightful. We ate lunch often with either grill or outpost and one day at Verandah. All in all, the resort is beautiful. The beach is amazing, some of the prettiest in the Caribbean islands. And we have been to a lot. There is a lot of walking, which we loved. Coffee shop opens early and Renee was ALWAYS ready to make whatever you wanted with a beautiful smile. We have stayed at multiple AI's and this one was towards the upper end but we aren't overly picky either, I can't say that Sandals is that much better but costs a lot more. We never had issue finding a chair at pool or beach but we don't sit there all day either. Some extras: Instead of doing Devil's Bridge on a tour, we walked to Veranda and asked if we could walk through to Devil's Bridge. There is a construction gate at end that you pass through. It allowed us to see the resort (which prompted us to go back later for lunch and beach) and we were at Devils' Bridge all by ourselves!! We actually did it a few days later so our daughter could see it too. We booked private airport transfer with Blacki Warner and Charlie picked us up - he was great and super informative. We booked an island tour with Marvin on beach. He was full that day but found Evol to take us. He was fantastic. We saw all the sites, stopped for some pineapple and did a little shopping in St. Johns. We did Extreme Circumnavigation tour and it was highlight of our trip. David was our captain and Dino/Kimber were mates. There were people on boat that couldn't swim and by the end they were snorkeling. We did sting ray city, beautiful beach for snorkeling and lunch, history education along the tour and snorkeling at Pillars of Hercules which was beautiful!! (And we live in Florida) Highly recommend this tour to see the entire island from the water. Read less
