We stayed at PBC the first week of November just at the start of the tourist season. Our ocean view room was clean and well kept. The hotel staff were wonderful and friendly and it appeared most of them enjoyed their job. The beach is wonderful and the water superb and if you don't like the ocean there are three pools! Like many resorts the early birds stake out the beach chairs early in the morning and then disappear for most of the day which leads to a shortage of seats. The food was good and the menu changed daily. I am not a big eater but the portions at the Pineapple Grill are small. The Outhouse! BBQ restaurant has a great view and a perfect place for lunch. Daily onsite activities are well organized, and the activity coordinators are enthusiastic and add to the enjoyment. PBC is on the Atlantic side of Antigua and away from the main areas. Devil's Bridge is about 3km away and makes for a good early morning walk. Taxis are expensive and there is no public transport nearby. PBC is recommended for a low key, adult only relaxing vacation. nice scenic beach view, comfortable beach front room and balcony. great beach for lounging, strolling, easy snorkeling. we also did some nice scenic boat tours. staff were very friendly and helpful - we'll be back for sure! too bad the flight cost from Toronto was so high, but only a short taxi ride from the airport to the resort.

The Pineapple Grill has been updated and is now much better. The food was lukewarm but was swiftly rectified. We stayed in an ocean view room this time and I preferred it to the ocean front. The rooms in the blocks seem to have more space and are a little less dated / tired. The beach remains fabulous, clean, white sand and perfect sea. The activities are great if you want to join in, but there’s no pressure. We managed to get our piece of wood up in the outhouse this time and hopefully we will add many more dates to it. Read less

We stayed here for the first half of our honeymoon in Antigua and sadly came away quite disappointed with this hotel. The setting is truly beautiful - the beach, the pools etc. - and whilst the facilities felt a bit tired in places (sun loungers in particular), it wasn't enough to bother us. What let this place down was sadly the service. The main restaurant felt really understaffed, with long waits for a table, and it often felt like a battle to get your drinks order. You often had to wait a while for someone to take an order and it was pot luck whether it would ever arrive without chasing it. On one evening at dinner, my husband ordered a Sprite and, despite chasing it multiple times, it never arrived. Having long-finished our meal, we eventually gave up and went to the bar. Staff almost never apologised for slow service and at times we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience just for ordering food from the snack bar, or a drink at the bar. The food was generally fine - I struggled a little bit being gluten free but managed okay. The morning omelette station was a particular highlight for me. We took advantage of the free catamaran trip out into the bay which was really fun and enjoyed the activities on offer such as shuffleboard, giant chess and pool. We also did a private tour of the island which was really enjoyable. The vibe of the hotel is quite lively and loud - several guests brought their own speakers to the pool to play music. This wasn't really the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for but I can see that this could appeal to others hoping for livelier vibe. Other smaller issues included poor quality WiFi and room cleaning only every other day. Overall we enjoyed the setting and did our best to relax here but feel it could do with a lot of improvements to even begin to justify the $24 a day resort fee we had to pay at the end! We stayed in a different hotel for our second week which was far superior in every way - and with no daily fee! Read less

I loved that we could swim straight out from the resort to a reef to snorkel with the snorkel gear included in the rates. We especially enjoyed the food at the Pineapple Grill restaurant on site, I'd highly recommend getting reservations there. This was one of the most relaxing trips we've ever had. We'd go from lounging at the infinity pool, to the water hammocks in the ocean, to the quiet pool. Read less
