We had a driver who took us to Shirley Heights English Harbour and other landmarks . He’s the guy in the picture He has real knowledge of the island and he is one of the sweetest people we met when we were there is I don’t think we would’ve seen as much of the island if we got on their normal tour. Worth every penny and I would recommend him 100%. Keon ,Verene Sonia ,see you soon ❤️Thank you for wonderful week Read less

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon last year in November, and are returning again this year for our anniversary in a couple of weeks! I work in the hotel industry and have stayed in dozens of hotels and resorts across the world. This is one of my favorites. The staff really make this place shine, we had nothing but good experiences with everyone there. Even when the snack bar or the Mongoose bar had a crowd of people the staff was always friendly and it seemed like they all liked being there. The food isn't anything flashy, but everything at Topaz was always tasty and there was a good selection. People are complaining about breakfast not having a lot of variability- but that's because they always have EVERYTHING. Really, I don't know what else you could possibly want. The only slight disappointment we had was dining at Pineapple Grill, my husband paid an up-charge for the filet and it was overcooked. The Italian restaurant was AWESOME. The beach is beautiful and well taken care of, and we could always find a spot to sit. Our room wasn't anything special, we stayed in an Oceanview that had not been renovated yet, so the decor was a little outdated but everything was clean and well taken care of. Bed was comfy. Drinks were always good at the bar, and if you wanted something stronger or less sweet they were usually happy to oblige. Overall the staff is pretty laid back and in-obtrusive. Sometimes at the buffet it was hard to get someone for more coffee or water, but I think it's more that they're just leaving you alone- it was easy enough to flag someone down. When we travel we want a comfortable place to sleep, good drinks, good food, and friendly people to chat with. This place delivers all that with incredible scenery. We so excited to return in a couple of weeks! Read less

Our reservation at PBC was 10/3 – 10/9. We arrived a day late due to a delayed flight. I want to start this review by saying that we travel often. We typically do at least one all-inclusive resort a year, occasionally we do more than one in addition to domestic vacations. In the last 5 years we have visited 8 tropical all-inclusive destinations … this isn’t our first rodeo. I hope that management will read these customer concerns and complaints and rather than replying as shocked because they always hear great things about their staff, address the issues. Your customers deserve better and you should take the time to address the problems with your staff and improve rather than replying with snarky comments to so many reviewers that have such poor experiences. I went into this trip worried about accommodations due to so many people discussing the poor condition of the resort, but once we arrived that was the least of my worries. We arrived at the resort with a group of guests and entered the office to no available seating. A man offered rum punch, but I was very sick from the transfer ride and requested water. They have no water at the check-in desk, and they cannot direct you to any place to get some until after check-in is complete. Please get water in the office, it doesn’t have to be bottled, just filtered so people that have been traveling can have a drink. After check-in we were taken to our room, waterfront room 508. The room was like pictures on the website and was clean. The rooms are small, the bathrooms have some mold in grout and caulk despite the updates. Our bathroom door could not open completely due to being out of square. The front door to our room also looked as if someone had tried to pry it open. Despite being small and having some issues, the room was ok, and the view was amazing. The beds were terrible, you can feel springs and mattresses need to be replaced. We also had a bottle of prosecco waiting on us for our anniversary. Having traveled most of the day we were hungry after arrival, so we changed into swimsuits and headed down to the grill. The area was crowded and there was only one woman working this area most days. She was one of the polite employees that treated us well and worked extremely hard. Food was concession stand style eats. Since we had not arrived a day ahead, we were not able to eat at the Pineapple or Italian restaurants on our first evening (you have to make reservations a day prior). We were directed to the Topaz buffet. The employees in this restaurant were some of the worst we encountered (there were a few more that took 1st place in poor service). There were only a few people eating and there were several employees standing around, but we were left waiting at the podium as they ignored us for a bit. The lady that came to seat us never smiled and clearly did not care to be at work or provide any service. There was one chef manning the buffet area. On this evening they were serving “Mexican Night” and it was some of the worst food I have ever had. I have had hospital trays that were better. We sat with empty water glasses most of the meal until my husband finally got up to get more water for us. Each time we returned to the Topaz (it is the only option for breakfast) we encountered the same poor service. We would have water glasses initially filled and then sit thirsty the rest of the meal. I watched another guest get up and fill his own water glass too. Rather than apologizing one of the employees came over and berated him for touching their water. She told him that he was not to serve himself. WE wouldn’t be if you provided any type of service. Enduring breakfast here was a joke. We have been to many resorts that provide buffet breakfast, but never anything like this. The same foods were served each day, eggs were still liquid, and birds often got inside the containers, pancakes and other baked goods were dry, and there was only 1 woman manning the buffet area. She was often overwhelmed preparing any type of fresh breakfast (eggs or omelets) and there were long lines. If you are seated near the water the birds just fly over and get on top of plates of empty tables, but if you are seated on the interior there are birds that sit above and poop on your table. Birds are native, but other resorts have predatory bird handlers come in weekly to help keep these birds away from guests and out of food. Not only is it annoying, it is unsanitary. The pineapple grill had very good service on our first visit. We were waited on by Michelle and she was an excellent server. The food was good as well. On our second visit to the Pineapple Grill we ordered the upcharge meal of lobster. You shouldn’t have any upcharge items at an all-inclusive resort. This was our best meal of the week, but we had terrible service this visit. We met Borris at the bar, he was a wonderful bartender, was personable and provided excellent service. After we ordered we received our appetizers and then waited for over an hour. Our server wouldn’t make eye contact or come to our table, we spotted Borris who noticed something was wrong and asked if we were ok. We told him we still had not eaten and he was shocked. He found our server and in about 10 minutes our food arrived. Not only did we pay for a meal, but we had horrible service on top of it. The Italian restaurant was ok. If I was off resort it would not have been something I would have returned to or paid for. We did enjoy the evening that Michelle was our server here. One of the worst issues at this resort was bar service. You should be embarrassed that this is what you are providing to your guests. During our stay they were tearing down and re-building the bar closer to the beach chairs. The only bar open near the beach and beachside pools was the Mongoose Bar. I have never received such poor service at any establishment. McDonalds provides better customer service in the drive through. We waited in lines each time we needed a drink; the drinks were poorly made, and the resort only uses cheap alcohol. We never had any decent service here; all bartenders were rude and visibly did not want to be waiting on any guests. On our first day here, we had ordered a few drinks and were sitting by the beach and moved up to the pool area around 5pm. My husband went to the bar to order two drinks before we went to our room and was told by Marvin that he would not serve him. The pool was still open and we had no clue there were any rules. He provided no explanations so he asked why, and he said, you must wear a shirt and turned away. There are a lot of ways you can explain this, and you don’t have to be impolite. A few days later we were waited on by Marvin again. The bar finally had mint for the first time in the week, so we ordered mojitos. We watched him prepare the drinks and he never added alcohol. He handed them over and turned to serve someone else. My husband told him we didn’t want virgin drinks, we wanted alcohol and he started to argue and be combative. Customer service?? NONE! Re-make the drinks, add alcohol, do something. He stood and glared, and my husband said again, we would like alcohol in the drinks. He poured a little on top, put them on the bar and left. We also had a woman prepare a drink and spill ¼ bottle of grenadine inside and rather than re-making it, she served it. I have never had not only poor service, but terrible drinks at any resort. Not only are you walking to the bar to get each drink, you wait in lines and receive awful service. The pool needs a complete renovation. There are tiles cracking and coming off everywhere. There were three days of our stay that I walked all over the resort trying to track down pool towels. The containers are emptied early in the morning and aren’t re-filled. When I found an employee to ask, she told me I could walk down to water sports to get towels, never offered to help me, just go track one down. Once I got to water sports there were no employees in the stand and again, I got to spend my vacation time waiting on your employees. Everything we did off resort was lovely; the people were lovely and provided excellent service and we enjoyed it! I would say that the people of Antigua are amazing, and their country is amazing, but PBC is closer to a motel 6 than any type of all-inclusive I have ever stayed at. Motel 6 still has better customer service. Beware when booking any excursions, book with the companies and not in the hotel booking office. Some excursions require a deposit and you pay the remainder to the company. If you cancel, they keep your deposit no matter what, but if you book directly with the companies, they all allow cancelations within 24 hours and you get a full refund. If you want to use the spa you should book appointments on the first day. We did one couples massage and I did a second massage. Most times we tried to book were already taken or they didn’t have staff available. It was hard to schedule excursions around the times they did offer. My best advice would be to avoid this place at all costs. I would venture to say that people who choose to come back here probably have not experienced any other all-inclusive style resorts. It is a shame because this is a 5-star beach, but it still isn’t worth being treated so poorly on your vacation. We made the best of our trip because it was a celebration of our 10th anniversary, I would not return. You can go to many 4-5 star all inclusive destinations for the same money where you will have excellent food and service. We left with a couple hundred dollars in tip money that we didn’t use. We appreciate good service and love to tip, it’s a shame your staff doesn’t provide any. Read less

Much to our kids disgust, (left at home with nanny & grandad!), we headed back to Pineapple Beach Club for just 5 nights stay, to celebrate our anniversary &, more importantly, to return to our honeymoon destination. Much to our delight, other than maintenance, the hotel is exactly as we remembered it....A true Caribbean paradise! Not modernised and contemporary with a gym and coffee bar, there is an almost colonial feel to the public areas. Situated right on the beach of Long Bay on the Atlantic coast, there simply is no better view. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating, the food in all three restaurants & snack bar is well prepared and, mostly, local. The drinks at the bar are free flowing and varied (you have to try the cocktails!) and the rooms are comfortable and spacious with air conditioning. We were lucky enough to have a beach front room for our return visit and the white sand led us down to the warm soft waves every morning. Just walking along to the other end of the bay in the setting sun is about as romantic as it gets! Although we didn't partake, there are great watersports facilities & an entertainments team. However, this is not Holiday camp time. It is offered, but not forced upon you. I could honestly go on and on about our time here, but you simply need to go and find it for yourselves. We clearly chose well for our honeymoon and have returned twice again now. We are already planning to return (as soon as we can afford to bribe the kids to stay with nanny & grandad again) and there is no recommendation more than that. We'll see you on the beach! Read less
