We just got back from 6 nights at pineapple and I must say that I was not impressed. The resort has lots of potential but overall it is lacking in many ways. The majority of the staff were very pleasant and did try their best to please you. Unfortunately, they are completely understaffed. Upon arrival, check in took about an hour as there was only one person checking in with at least 5 couples waiting. We were lucky to get a renovated corner room with views of the ocean and close to everything. The room was nice and spacious; however the king size bed was uncomfortable. The biggest disappointment was the food. On their website, they state they have 5 restaurants to chose from yet that is inaccurate. The selection was very limited, one of the restaurants (Pineapple Grill) was not opened at all and another one (Chef Pietro) only opened on wednesday. The outhouse was only opened 2 days during our trip. The food itself, was awful. During my 6 nights, there was only one restaurant (Topaz) to have breakfast and dinner in every day. The resort is far from everything which made it difficult to go out to dinner anywhere else. It should also be noted that this resort is not located on the Caribbean side of the island. The beaches on the other side are much nicer. Overall the resort was just ok. It was not worth the money spent. Read less

Every employee was so nice and over accommodating! It was was one of the funnest laid back resorts with a quaint relaxed vibe and a lot of fun coordinated activities that change daily. It allows you to get to know the staff and people staying at the resort. The resort made me feel like a Queen for my 40th especially a big shout out to Ann-Marie - Activities Director, Anika, Solange and all the fun bartenders! Ann- Marie will work you out in the pool- it’s harder than it looks! We miss it already and will be back as soon as we can! Read less

Pineapple is an amazing resort to stay at! We picked Pineapple to host our wedding since it was adult only and was smaller than other Elite Island resort hotels. John Cather from Elite Island resort is amazing and took care of all of our room requests. During Covid our group had a lot of changes and he made sure everything was organized. I highly recommend asking for John with Elite Resorts when booking. Once arriving at Pineapple you will notice the beautiful grounds and picturesque views of the ocean. We really liked that we didn't have to wear an all inclusive bracelet like a lot of resorts. The rooms are beautiful, most of them have balconies with views of the ocean. We stayed in the Beach Front rooms which were perfect and located in the middle of everything. The food is delicious and is plated beautifully. At the time we went only Topaz was open which was fine since I enjoyed picking off the menu compared to having a buffet. One draw back to this was that dinner took a lot longer. But that made time to talk with family and friends! I loved the grilled catch of the day! The Outhouse was open twice when we were there for lunch and the food is so good! I highly recommend going there. On days the Outhouse was closed the Pelican Snack Shack was open. It is tasty food but slow. There is only one person making food for everyone so expect to not eat right away. For breakfast we again ordered off a menu besides two days where there was a buffet. This took really long and sometimes interfered with excursions that left in the morning. I think this will improve once there Covid restrictions lessen and they have more staff. Talking about staff; they are simply wonderful!! Some of the nicest people I have ever met. All of the staff went above and beyond. For water sport people snorkeling in front of the resort is pretty good! If standing on the beach head to the right where you can see waves crashing on rocks sticking out of the water. We were able to see a lobster, eel, squid, and a bunch of fish! Now for wedding information. Trust Sanjay, she is the GM of the resort and will get all of your asks completed and then go above and beyond. We planned most of our wedding over email besides some details when we arrived. Sanjay and the staff really made the wedding of my dreams. They had a huge tent set up in the garden with lanterns for the receptions. We did the island buffet and it was AMAZING! Chef Brady out did himself. I could eat the beef kababs and potato salad for days. Our ceremony was on the beach with a beautiful arch. I had the makeup trial done on Friday which was nice and made me feel great about the ladies skills. Also, we had pedicures and manicures. I must say that the spa does take a long time. For 5 of us to get hair and makeup done it took 4 hours since there were only 2 people working. Hopefully once Covid is no more they can have more people working in the spa. I cannot thank Pineapple enough for hosting the wedding of my dreams! I also cant wait to go back !! They treated all of us like family and it was amazing, I was sad to leave! Read less

If you are thinking of a destination wedding look no further. They made all my daughter's dreams a reality. She send them pictures of her ideas and they made them happen. They exceeded all of our expectations. The grounds, tent, flowers, table setup, beach setup, steel drum band, DJ, and buffet were all excellent. Thanks to SanJay everything ran smoothly. When Pineapple closed and we were panicking she and John from Elite answered all our questions. We were very satisfied with the spa services (our makeup and hair were beautiful) although they were a bit slow having only 2 people working for the 6 of us (this might have been partly our fault due to adding some services that day) We also did manicures and pedicures the day before which were excellent. To address other aspects of the resort that others have commented on: Topaz is now order off a menu. The staff you can tell are not used to serving that many people. I actually enjoyed picking off a menu instead of having a buffet for dinner. The plating of the food was exceptional. We enjoyed oxtail, calamari, seafood pasta and a lot of other great dishes. I did not mind having a leisurely dinner. Breakfast was another story. The coffee shop was excellent and Holli made the best coffees. I was satisfied with the pastries from the Café but friends that choose to eat at Topaz again off of a menu, not buffet, had long waits. Some that had excursions had to leave without eating after coming an hour early for breakfast. There were also long waits for lunch when the snack bar was the only option. Luckily for us the Outhouse (BarBQ was awesome and ice cold beers) was open twice while we were there. Again usually Topaz is open for buffet so I assume they are still figuring things out. My only other regret was that water sports were not open daily. I loved going out on the Hobie...the guys there were super. A tip from Kevin: go to the gazebo around 3:30 4:00 and you can usually spot a turtle swimming in the sea grass. Back to the good: My room was excellent, the grounds were beautiful, the staff and activities were great. Lady Anne Marie knows how to liven up a party and boy can she dance. I had a drink in my hand whenever I wanted and the bar tenders made us whatever we asked for. The drink of the day was a welcome refresher and the mango daiquiris were yummy especially with a dark rum floater. Again I must say if you or your daughter are dreaming of an island wedding Pineapple will make your dream come true. Read less

It pains me to write this review as I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Pineapple Beach Club (PBC) and Antigua. However, this last trip missed the mark a bit and I believe it leaving fair and honest reviews. I will start with the transfer. I have been to the island several times and felt confident in getting a taxi as they are always readily available and have set rates. Double checked in advance, online it showed $28 to PBC. Was told $42 at the airport.... paid as I needed a taxi either way. I double checked with the reception at the resort, and was told $28 - but then when we left I was once again charged $42. So have the rates changed? Are they still set rates? Am I being ripped off? I still don’t know. Now let’s move on to the resort. This is my 6th time to the resort and I clearly have always loved it. I am keeping an open mind and trying to be understanding that they just reopened a few weeks ago. It was still quite disappointing in several areas. Overall, they feel very understaffed. Despite the low occupancy it felt like there were never enough staff around. There was always a longer than usual wait for food and drinks. It was hard to find someone when we wanted to book excursions. Speaking of excursions -we were turned down twice from booking the Pink Panther Excursion because there weren’t any other guests that wanted to go. FOOD - ONLY Topaz was open as far as the restaurants. It was open every day for breakfast and dinner, and only 2 out of our 5 days for lunch. The snack bar was open it’s normal hours, but was kind of a bummer to have as the only consistent lunch option. The Outhouse was only open on Sunday. BARS- ONLY the main bar was open. The Aqua Bar and The Tickled Turtle Bar were closed the entire 5 days we were there. They advertised beach & pool service, but in 5 days I had service one time, one drink, at the beach and never saw the server again. I don’t need to be waited on, but don’t offer it if it isn’t available. Activities - as mentioned above, excursions seem limited because of low occupancy but the real disappointment is with water Activities. The water sport hut was closed almost the entire time. On the calendar it said it would be closed Saturday. But it was closed Saturday. Sunday. And Monday. Super frustrating. ROOMS - We had booked Oceanfront and were put it in a Waterfront. I think this is considered an upgrade actually, but I actually like the walk up to the Oceanfront rooms so was a little bummed we didn’t get what we booked. Our confirmation paperwork clearly says oceanfront and by the time they dropped us to the room and I realized it, didn’t feel like worth a complaint. The room was nice and the view was comparable to oceanfront. BEACH - still a gorgeous stretch of beach, but not the pristine white I’m use to. Some seaweed each day, which I know is natural, but in the past it was always raked up and wasn’t this time around. (It wasn’t awful by any means, it’s just not the post card beach I’m used to seeing) Again, seems to be just a thing of having less staff available on property. OVERALL - I still love PBC and Antigua. I just know that the way it stands now, I wouldn’t be comfortable recommending it to my friends and family. It’s priced as a 4 Star Resort and in the past it felt deserving. Not so sure right now. I sure hope this is just a hiccup and growing pains of reopening. Read less
