Nightly entertainment was excellent! The restaurant staff was first class. The hotel was a little bit dated but they were doing renos when we were there. When we first arrived we had some key issues but they resolved it asap. about a 10 maybe 15 minute walk to Baha Mar Casino plus night club.

Darvin the pool attendant assisted me with all my needs at the pool. Alex the bellman was very friendly and helpful. Servers at the buffet assisted with a smile. We enjoyed the entertainment from Funky D and his band Tuesday night, thanks Jerry The only needed improvement I saw was the food at the buffet was not consistently hot. We look forward to staying there again. See you all soon! Read less

Review of Breezes, Cable Beach Bahamas Top Line: A moderate all-inclusive located on one of the most attractive beaches in The Bahamas. An excellent value for those on a budget. Large rooms, professional attentive staff, good food/drinks with variety, wide-open private beach, many amenities and entertainment. Adjacent to upmarket and exclusive Baha Mar (which I mention in the in-depth review). Full Review: As always I disclose, I am a travel agent. However, the resort was booked through an OTA (Online Travel Agency, no professional discount was requested or provided). Airport/Check-In: Breezes is an easy 20 min ride from the airport, assume $30-$40 USD for a taxi (ask about rate when embarking on the journey). Upon arrival, typical open-air lobby/reception, check in is fast and efficient. Room: Our first room was excellent #178. While a trek from the front-reception and down one level it is a beachfront room, literally a patio and then sand. Literally a large sliding glass door opens to a private patio (with a table and two chairs, excellent for morning coffee (a kettle can be requested not in the room) and then onto the beach! In front of the unit are two loungers and a palapa reserved for the room. The beach front rooms all have this. The courtyard rooms on the first level have patios with private hammocks. Unfortunately, our A/C was not working. The resort sent a tech; long story short we were moved two doors down to #180, a corner room, again on the beach and as at the end of the corridor quite private. There are two buildings on either side of the courtyard approx. 5 stories each. The interior courtyard rooms overlook the pool. The exterior rooms overlook open land and/or a neighboring small condo building. Select rooms have unobstructed views of the beach and Caribbean (and yes you can see cruise ships arriving and departing from Nassau which is a 15 min cab ride). The room was quite large to the point of being almost spartan concerning furnishings which are limited yet adequate i.e. king bed, side tables, large dresser, small desk. The room was big enough to easily accommodate an additional seating area. Large flat-screen TV. Bathroom is a ¾ i.e. shower stall which is quite expansive including a bench. Nice amenities kit. Large closet including a safe. A/C is central thus quiet and efficient. There is a small refrigerator which one can stock from the sundry store otherwise as an all-inclusive of limited use. Of note ceilings are over-height which contributes to the sense of expansiveness. Grounds: The building is somewhat of a “U” shape common for that era of construction. In the middle of the “U” is the common areas i.e. on the main level which is Level 2 is reception, sundry, a Starbucks, tour desk, concierge and their main entertaining room and bar as well as a few terraces looking over the central pool and the beach beyond. The Asian restaurant is on this level as well accessible from the reception area. The lower level is at grade i.e. at the beach. In the middle is the main dining room which serves buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is a large, expansive room and there are also outdoor dining that is covered by the decking above. On this level is also a piano bar, the Italian restaurant and the garden (romantic) restaurant. This is also where the pools are accessible in a courtyard setting as well as a large pool bar and a snack hut with comfort food i.e. burgers, hot dogs, salads that is open from 11A to approx. 5P Pool Scene: There are actually multiple pools and they are somewhat connected as well as a large hot tub. As the resort is adults oriented there is no “kiddie pool” or similar. Chairs/loungers are plentiful. Beyond this area is the beach which is by far the widest and most expansive of any resort on Cable Beach including but not limited to Baha Mar and Goldwynn. This is probably due to the year of construction as the resort I believe dates from the 1970’s when premiums were placed on design and comfort versus pure economic return i.e. density. Thus the private beach could easily handle triple the density. Of note on more than one occasions I did notice “towels” from Baha Mar on Breezes loungers as the space and outlay i.e. expansiveness and width of the beach area is much more pleasant and less congested. Granted just one person’s opinion however if you are a beach person looking for space and quiet, Breezes beach is so much larger and less dense versus Baha Mar in part due to the setback of the resort as Baha Mar development encroaches on the beach i.e. retail, food trucks and thus less width between the water and the development. Beach Scene: As mentioned with the large, expansive and wide beach finding a lounger is NOT an issue. The resort was I believe close to capacity due to an event, yet most guests stayed by the pool thus if you desire space and quiet lounging on the beach, not an issue, plentiful. The resort does have waitstaff that services the beach. Dining: There are multiple dining options. The buffets are provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food quality is good with a mix of international and Caribbean options. Breakfast includes all the requisites including a make your own waffle station, omelet station, deli and cooked meats, fruit, yogurts, pastries and so forth. Lunch and dinner, similar spreads and variety does change daily. Of note usually had to serve your own drinks except for water as there are soda fountains, juice machines and coffee. There are a few restaurants on site. They are good. The Asian was enjoyable yet small portions. The Garden option with indoor/outdoor seating is excellent for a more romantic setting. We did not try the Italian restaurant or the piano bar. Two comments concerning the a la ’carte dining, there are three (3) seatings thus one cannot just walk in and dine. I understand for efficiency makes sense just like the flexibility of dining when one wishes. Second, meals felt rushed i.e. order from the set menu and brought out with hardly any time between courses. Again I understand based on seating times however as on vacation I personally desire to linger over courses and enjoy an elongated dessert period. Not a deal breaker and seems common at all-inclusive’ something F&B professionals may wish to tackle with the bean counters. Concerning lunch, we enjoyed the snack bar at the pool as usually full from breakfast thus did not eat until mid to late afternoon and the snack bar had nice comfort food offerings. The lunch buffet looked plentiful, did not experience. For an all-inclusive the food was satisfactory to good. As it is an island much is imported. One could easily go to Baha Mar for a meal and easily drop $75pp on casual dining thus Breezes again is a good value proposition. Gym/Workout: There is a small gym/workout facility including some elliptical’s, treadmills, bikes and so forth. Some basic weights, mats and so forth. Not the forte of the resort yet also barely used. Entertainment: I know there were options nightly, we did not partake. You know vacation is exhausting…reading and relaxing on the beach, a dip in the pool, one get’s tired. However I did see the piano bar was open late and the lobby bar is popular. Baha Mar: There is a walking path to Baha Mar. While it is a lovely complex with 3 excellent resorts, decent shopping and food options I felt like I was in a cross between Times Square and Las Vegas. The buildings are large and while each hotel has their own pool areas the beach is shared between the three resorts. Due to the development between the buildings and the beach i.e. a small village setting the actual beach area is narrow and somewhat crowded esp. on the weekend. Even at the most luxury oriented of the three hotels, lounge chars were grouped together, privacy and quiet seemed to be a rare commodity and thus why not surprised to see towels from the resorts at Baha Mar at Breezes even though technically the beaches are private to each resort. The casino is very nice, the retail is oriented to deluxe/luxury i.e. Cartier, Vineyard Vines and similar businesses. A decent sundry store with a good selection including a Kosher area. The restaurants within Baha Mar range from causal pizza to over-the-top fine dining. I will admit Breezes was not the resort I would usually travel to HOWEVER for a 4-night stay coupled with an excellent value-oriented rate, an excellent option. Cable Beach is very nice and expansive. The adult orientation is appreciated yet also more mature i.e. not heavy partying and so forth. Many guests were 40’s plus. Yes the resort is older i.e. construction however the rooms are large, there are elevators, dining options are plentiful and the staff does go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. Could you spend more? A lot more at Baha Mar? Of course, yet for the same beach area and views Breezes understands what it is, a good value proposition resort. In the resort world we seem to be moving towards luxury or basic with few in the middle left. Breezes fills this niche and does it well. An overall nice experience and good value. Read less

No coffee makers/kettle but I did ask for one and got it brought up right away Beach is great - Nassau is my favourite beach to visit! Someone in a previous review wrote, "Resort is dated - but spotless" and that's bang on. It was very clean and staff were friendly. Tip! They say not to, but you should and the staff at the buffet/bars are great. I would blink and my dishes at the buffet were gone. If you go for the beach you'll be happy - if you're a pool person, I'd maybe go elsewhere. Know what to expect (i.e. not a true 5* ) and you'll be happy. Read less
