The hotel

Everyday is paradise when you wake up with views of the ocean through the floor to ceiling windows at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in the Bahamas. With over 5,000 square miles of beaches, pools, and bars to explore, this is your ultimate destination within a destination. It’s perfect for families, with spacious suites to accommodate you all together, some even with full kitchens for those nights when you want to eat dinner alone on the balcony. The activities on offer are never ending, the water park being the pick of the bunch – and we know you’ll love the slides just as much as the little ones really! There’s also an entertainment centre to keep them occupied, with games, bowling and a movie theatre, so you can relax in the spa or grab a frozen margarita from the beachfront bar and watch the cruise ships coming in and out of Nassau. Make sure you grab a spot at the rooftop bar in time for the sunset, definitely an instagram-able moment.

We had dinner at our hotel with our family. The sauce was super spicy for the kids meal and the swapped it out no problems. Great service, Ian is great! Would highly recommend this place overall for the fun and sun and food. And close to the pier to wander elsewhere too.

We recently stayed at the Margaritaville in Nassau as a family of four. The hotel was excellent and exactly what we wanted for us and our kids. It is located a short walk to downtown Nassau to make it close enough to visit, but is not one of the larger resort hotels that can be very busy. Our children loved the water park that is included in the price. It has a lazy river to relax in and some great slides for fun. They particularly enjoyed the cliff jump. The park is open to visitors from the nearby cruise port but not so many to be overwhelmed. It also means you have the park to yourself each morning and evening after they leave. The beach is located just the other side of a fence and is beautiful. Again it gets busy at lunch but we had it to ourselves each morning and evening. There is a great choice of restaurants from reasonably priced pizza to exceptional sushi. We loved them all. The hotel staff are the highlight though. From Antoine we met at reception to Maycock in the Vacation Cafe, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Margaritaville. Read less

Ian and Essence were amazing and all the food was delicious. The best service in the Bahamas. We had chicken in da bag, ribs, blackened, chicken, pasta, and lobster pasta. All were very good. The bathrooms are clean. We can’t say enough about Ian and Essence.

The resort does hit you with fees for the water park and tax, but once this is understood as the norm in Nassau it's fine. The rooms are lovely and with a great view on the sea front. The cleaners work hard and long hours to do the best they can. The private beach for the main block needs to be policed better as 25% of the beach goers are not from the resort (11-4pm)and this then puts off resort guests. If the hotel can improve this along with stopping the constant sellers parading around , this would be good. The hotel does not have regular entertainment and is located in an area which closes around 6pm when the cruise ships depart. But the island is easy to get around via a taxi. If the waterpark had a "chill out side" perhaps beach side with a lower volume of music on that side, it may help. The infinity pool is great but maybe close it off at 10pm along with the hot tub as people tend to gather and dump bottles and cans around it when drunk late at night and so disturb others. The comments are made to be helpful as we had a great time and were sad to leave. Most of the staff were very helpful , with one or two unhelpful staff members, but this is the norm in most establishments this size. We would return , but perhaps for a 4-5 day stay and then move onto another part of the island. Read less
