If this review was just about the room and the staff, I would give it four stars, but there is more to the stay at a resort such as this. Other than Friday and Saturday night, most of the restaurants we wanted to visit were closed. On Monday and Tuesday, the choices were very limited. The Mosaic buffet breakfast is a disgrace. For $50 per person, they need to deliver a lot more. There was no place during our stay to order an a la carte breakfast. Not a single place in the whole property to get, for example, two fresh scrambled eggs and toast. If you wanted fresh eggs, you had to go to one of the buffets. You could get an egg sandwich at Plato's Patisserie, but it was pre-made and reheated in the microwave. I purchased a water there one night for $11 as the Sundry store had closed. They tacked on a 15% tip even though I picked up the water myself and brought it to the cashier. Starbucks is the best option for breakfast, and that is disappointing. Lunch choices were similarly limited. You could eat outdoors at the pool, but the food was of a similar low quality. Not one sit down place with decent food. I heard the deli was good, but it was closed during our entire visit. You are almost captive here since there is no place close by off property to go. Guests deserve better. Olives and Nobu are good but pricey choices when open, but Nobu was closed on two of the four nights we were there. Room was spacious. Cove pool was very nice, although food and beverage prices there are over the top. The hotel deserves credit for making it very easy to get your free Covid test on site before departure. The bathroom is amazing with a huge bathtub as two complete vanities. We had an ocean front king suite. The balcony is small but that’s my only complaint. The adult pool is fabulous. They have an outside craps table. They have food service by the pool. The fridges are just turned off because they don’t have a mini bar any longer. There is a store downstairs to get snacks. No water in the room but there are bottles to refill down the hall. I don’t love that but I think it’s a great idea to save the planet from plastic. All waters are in cans in the casino. We visited in middle of September and there is hardly anyone here. No lines for the slides and very few people any where. Covid test was easy to get. There was a QR code to make an appt. No charge and the results are texted and emailed. Casino has blackjack, let it ride, Mississippi stud, 3 card poker, Texas hold ‘em, craps, roulette and lots of slot machines. Read less

We just got back yesterday from our 4 night stay at the Cove and it was amazing! We have been going once or twice a year for about 10 years and we usually stay at the Royal. We love that hotel and usually get our room comped through the casino. But this trip my husband and I decided to pay and stay at the Cove. We had some pretty high expectations and they were blown away. From check in to check out, everyone we came in contact with was very friendly, accommodating, and many times went out of their way to help us. When we checked in, the system was down and we couldn’t get our keys. Instead of making us wait, they lady that checked us in walked us up to our room. We stayed in an Indigo Suite and the views were amazing! There were windows on two sides of the room, a window that was overlooking Dolphin Cay in the bathroom, windows overlooking the ocean and water park, and two balconies-one a standard size and one not so big. We were at the end of the hallway (not a very long walk). It was worth the extra $ we paid to upgrade. There were two refillable Cove water bottles, Cove flip flops, and a Cove beach bag for us in the room. There is a Keurig coffee maker, but no fridge in the room. We spent most of the days at the adult pool. They don’t open until 9am, so can’t get chairs until then. There was a DJ playing music and it got ramped up as the day went on. (Not too “clubby” though). Cordero and Laverne remembered us each morning to help us get set up in the chairs we liked. The waitresses/waiters were all very friendly and attentive. The hotel is right next to the pool, so that was a benefit we enjoyed over the Royal tower. We did do the Rapids every day and water slides. It was a bit more of a walk than Royal, but no big deal. The crowds were very light at the resort. We have been in September before, and know it’s a slow month, but it was slower than that. There were times on the Rapids that there was no one around us. We never waited in line at the slides either. We scheduled our Covid tests a month in advance for 9am, when they open. We got the results back around 11:45. We got in line about 8:45 and we were first in line; the line does get long pretty quickly. As far as masks, everyone wore masks indoors and some did outside. They are required when ordering at the counters and being seated at Shark Bites, by the pool. We ate dinner at Fish, Nobu, Olives, and Seafire. We sat at the bar each night and the bartenders were very outgoing (Except Olives, the service is usually way better). We eat at Nobu and Olives every trip. Our dinner at Nobu was incredible as always. They didn’t have the plates for Toban Yaki, one of our favorites, so the bartender recommended the Tenderloin Yakimono and it was delicious!! Olives had a pretty limited menu, so we got one of our favorites, the Bronx Bomber flatbread, which never disappoints. Fish and Seafire were great and will definitely be back!! Make reservations at least a couple weeks in advance. Some restaurants were closed on some days. Yes, the food is expensive, but you can see menus with prices online so there should be no sticker shock. We were at the casino every night; it was kind of slow until around 9:30-10:00 then it gets busy. We played 3 Card Poker and Let It Ride most of the time, with some video poker and slots. The dealers were friendly and the tables only allowed 4 to a table. We didn’t win much, but had a great time. We were hoping to watch football in the sports book on Saturday night, but they can’t get (US) ESPN in the Bahamas. (That is what they told us) So we were very disappointed that we did not get to watch the Hogs beat Texas that night, but happy they won!! The shuttles are pretty prompt in the afternoon/evening. There was one waiting or pulling up almost every time we got out front. One morning, we had to wait around maybe 10-15 minutes from Royal-Cove. There is a Starbucks at the Reef, even though it would have been nice to have a coffee place at Cove, the Reef is just a short walk away. Our checkout experience was great as well, though we did not want to leave. We loved staying at the Cove and look forward to staying there again! Read less

A nice resort but I believe affected by pandemic and lack of tourists . The management need to be reactive . We have had 2 cancellation for the restaurants as they decided to close some restaurants and I assume based on the number of reservations or not enough staff . As a beach holiday resort I was disappointed with the beach at Cove . The beach is dirty as you can find cups , masks , cutlery from restaurants … and they don’t clean it . I guess the beach manager is not spending much time on the beach . There are many long chairs which are damaged and need to be replaced . Practically there is no service on the beach . I spent 6 days going to the beach and the pool . All the focus is on the pool ! Read less

No working refrigerators in any of the rooms, the toilet backs up constantly, the prices are ridiculous. I ordered a Ruben sandwich, caesar salad, and a small desert. Room service automatically charges a 19% gratuity and a 12% VAT tax so it came out to $100.74. Are you freaking kidding me?! Everything has a 15% and a 12% VAT tax but room service… Read more

Breakfast for one is $55. WTH? Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I've never been so stressed out on a vacation about the total bill. Oh and there's also a $59.95 "resort tax" and a $12 "Cove Gratuity" added every day. Just insane!!!!! Read less
