We stayed at the Reef. I originally wanted to stay at the Royal since it's at the center of everything. However, I'm glad we stayed at the Reef because it was a very quiet and tranquil location. I didn't realize that the reef also has residential units where people live and that lends to the quiet environment. The royal wasn't a far walk but of course you could take a shuttle so I was happy with our choice. Whoever did housekeeping for our room, was super sweet. Every time they'd clean our room, they would put our son's stuffed animal in a new place or new position on the bed and my son got a kick out it. He would say, "my piggy moved!" lol. It was such a small thing but it brought such a big smile to our little guy's face. Rooms were always clean. I loved the towels (big, soft and fluffy as they should be). We didn't go on the rides because our son is too small still but we did enjoy the kid's pool and playground with slides and the rapids river. We went in September, so it was slow and lines weren't long. Plus the sealion activity was awesome (my favorite part of the trip) and because it was slow season, the trainers spent more time with showing us the other sealions and even the dolphins which was a huge perk. Going in slow season was a treat because restaurant reservations were available. Food was great - including drinks of course. Overall, Atlantis is an awesome place and I hope we can go there more often! Read less

The resort staff are consistently inconsistent when providing you with information, they are the most dysfunctional hotel staff I have ever encountered, you will never get a straight answer from them, I would avoid the reef at Atlantis at all cost , unless you want a misserable stay

We had so much fun on our trip that I really struggled on how to rate this review. Property and service was great. The building is a little dated but still nice overall. The problem is the you can’t leave anything unsupervised or it will be stolen and no effort will be made to recover it. We arrived on a Saturday. Our room wasn’t ready which was okay because we were early. We checked our luggage to head to the beach and pool until the room was ready. We were able to walk in and out of the luggage storage area to get anything we needed in our bags without question. When our room was ready about 4 hours later, our luggage arrived. My son’s wallet was missing. They told us to file a report with security. We did. That night, it was time to go to bed, and I was unable to locate my CPAP machine. It was hanging on a hook on the luggage cart behind the back pack containing my son’s wallet in what looked like a computer bag. The next day I told the front desk. They said they would look into it and call me. No call. The next day they told me to file a report with security. They told me security would be in our room by 11:00am. At 11:45 no one had shown. They told us to go about our day, and security would call my cell phone. No call. Finally on Tuesday, they took our report. We went back to the luggage room again to search for my bag again without anyone noticing or questioning. We saw 2 CCTV cameras in the room. Well, it should be pretty easy. We gave them the time our luggage arrived in the storage room and the time it arrived in our room. It should be easy to see someone walk out with my CPAP bag in that 4 hour window. I spoke to security several times. I spoke to management several times. I spoke to the “investigation team” several times. They told me it was being reviewed by the security footage team and the investigation wasn’t complete. At no point did anyone know anything. They couldn’t even verify it was on the cart upon arrival which told me they hadn’t even looked. No one ever called me back though they all told me they would. That’s especially disappointing from management. The problem is, it was certainly an employee, and they didn’t want to deal with it. I was told I would be called at home when the investigation was complete. Well, I’ve been home 3 days and nothing. I’ll never hear from these criminals. Don’t spend your money here. Go somewhere that they care about your safety and the safety of your stuff. This place has complete disregard for theft. Read less

The ocean water is warm, minimal occupancy, easy access to restaurants and activities. And the overall cost is fair.
