Myself & my Partner visited this hotel on a package holiday booked with Virgin, arriving on 04/11/2019 for 1 week departing on the 11/11/2019 and was so sorry we had not booked for a longer duration. After visiting Barbados on 3 previous occasions we chose the Accra Beach due to being recommended to us through a friend of my partner whom has stayed in this hotel each year for the previous 5 years, the location was absolutely perfect with direct access to a lovely beach with plenty of sunbeds & Parasols provided by the hotel. I can only say any negative reviews/ feedback we read before visiting this hotel regarding the hotel,Manager or staff being unfriendly/rude r.e. The standard of their delivery of Customer Service we chose to ignore not only due to this Hotel being recommended but also to be honest we never take on board negative reviews or allow them to influence our decision. I can only say to anyone thinking of visiting this Hotel reading any negative reviews to ignore them & find out for yourself as there is always a percentage that can just be malicious. I can only say we have nothing but positives to feedback regarding our visit & having a superb holiday from beginning to the end 100%. The Manager of the Hotel Suresh was such a nice friendly person & also very accommodating his good Management reflects through his staff whom are also polite & friendly. Suresh the Manager treats you more like a friend than a guest and is very sociable, you will often see him sitting in the lobby bar watching sport e.t.c.chatting to guests. Myself & partner would like to thank Suresh further for his hospitality & inviting us as his Guests to their newly opened Sister Hotel the Abidah Beach and allowing us to view one of the fabulous rooms which were absolutely beautifully furnished 5☆ and a Hot tub/ Jacuzzi on the balcony 100% a stunning hotel also which looking at a visit in the future have contemplated visiting this Hotel. 5☆ with a a contemporary finish with beautiful detail throughout. Suresh also booked us in the Restaurant for a complimentary al- a -carte meal and any drinks from the bar included. I could go on forever complimenting Suresh as a Manager & this is a Genuine review that i can say is only positives regarding the Manager Suresh & would like to thank him for his hospitality & finally say Thank-you & hopefully visit again in September. The plumber said they knew about the fault for several weeks. Also even the second bedroom the shower fittings were not up to standard. The timber internal shutters were in need of repair. The carpeting in the corridor needs replacing. We booked with TUI & frankly their four star rating is grossly exaggerated. I would not recommend this hotel until wholesale renovation is completed Read less

The foyer of the hotel is beautiful. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel was in need of maintenance. Rooms were the same as any other hotel room. However the shutters, balcony doors and wardrobe doors proved to be an exhausting experience. Not one of them opened or closed easily and they were very noisy. The plug in the sink got stuck when you pushed it down and we had to use tweezers to get it out again. The shower head was the worst and it was difficult to get your hair washed. Water was rarely hot and why was the foot tap there at all🤷‍♀️. The shower itself could have done with a good going over with bleach now and again and really didnt look that clean along with the corners of the floor and the bathroom door which was covered in marks. The cleaners seemed to work hard enough. The hall carpets were becoming unstuck at the corners and could have caused trips/falls. The pool was in desperate need of some maintenance. The breakfast was lovely and with Debra and Yvonne around to greet you breakfast was a pleasant experience. There was a lovely pool bar but the bar staff kept disappearing (sometimes not coming back) to either go find a specific drink or for change as they NEVER had change. Not everyone wanted to add the cost to their room. Overall disappointing. Read less

They gave us drinks and dinner while we waited. But, still, the thing you want to do after an arduous day of travel is relax, change from travel clothes to swim suit, and enjoy the beach or pool. They never provided any satisfactory explanation for the delays. And, frankly, if I had not tipped the desk clerk $20, I’m not sure I would ever have gotten into a room. The hotel is lovely, although a bit “tired.” Bur after having had two unsatisfactory experiences here, We will find another place to stay on our next Barbados trip. Read less

Booked an oceanfront room for the week of Thanksgiving. First the good. The hotel lobby, grounds, and beach are beautiful. There's a lovely pool with a waterfall and swim up bar. The beach is gorgeous and chairs and umbrellas are provided. The staff in the lobby are very friendly and willing to help. The biggest plus is the location. Accra is located directly across the street from shops and restaurants, and there is a taxi stand right next door. The local buses are also a short walk. There is a lot to access within walking distance of the hotel. Now the bad. The hotel rooms especially the bathrooms are in serious need of an renovation. The light inside the bathroom is very dim, so using the mirror is not very useful. The shower knob operates weird. I called the front desk and told them our shower was not working. The told me I had to pull out the handle, which was loose and swiveling, and turn it to the left or right, and then it worked. The worst part was no wash cloths were provided. We had to call on almost a daily basis and request wash cloths, which was annoying! The housekeeper told my friend that the hotel was going to be phasing them out which seemed ridiculous. How do they expect people to bathe? We would shower and leave two washcloths, and then when we returned to our room, only one wash cloth was left. Were we supposed to share one washcloth? Most annoying was there was no hot water in the shower after 7 p.m. I had to go to bed one night with salt water on my body and in my hair because the water in the shower was too cold to bathe with. When I complained about it, I was told that they would have an engineer check it for me which also seemed ridiculous. When it happened another time, they told me I could come down and speak to the manager, who apologized and offered us several free breakfasts and a free dinner. The meals were good, but I would have preferred to be able to take a hot shower in the evening, or at anytime. There's an air conditioning unit in the room which is complicated to operate and no blankets provided on the beds. We had to call and request blankets because it was too cold and uncomfortable to sleep with just one thin sheet over you. The closet doors would not stay shut, they kept sliding open. The terrace door was hard to lock. There were an insufficient number of outlets to charge your phone and devices. We had an oceanfront room which afforded us a beautiful view, but the deck chairs were low wooden chairs, and very heavy to move. In summary, Accra has the potential to be a very beautiful resort, but they need to renovate their rooms and fix the hot water situation. Shout out to bartender Paul and front desk person Lisa who were both very nice to us. Read less
