Arrived at the hotel around 5 pm with my boyfriend for a one night staycation. The check-in process was very long, and we were advised the room was not ready even though check-in is at 3 pm (2 hrs earlier). Went to the bar to have a complimentary welcome drink (that was offered to make up for the unavailablilty of the room) and walked the grounds of the hotel. Returned to front desk around 6:30pm and was given the room keys however, no one gave us directions, helped with our bags or offered to take us to the room. After walking through dark, old and dusty hallways we arrived to a hot room. The air-conditioning was off so we assumed the room just needed time to cool down. After being in the room for approximately 45 mins it was clear the air-conditioning was not working and was giving off hot air. Called front desk who advised the air-conditioning technician would come in 10 mins to take a look. 20 mins passed, no knock on the door, called front desk again who advised someone will come. 15 mins passed and still no one came. Called front desk a third time and got the same response. After getting tired of waiting and boiling in the hot room we decided to go to front desk. We were quickly offered another room and offered free breakfast. This was pointless since breakfast was already included in the room charge. Again, no one guided us to the room but it was much cooler and we were satisfied. Left the room to get dinner and this was another negative experience. At check in we were told the Asian restaurant was open and one bar which would have burgers and fries etc. We did not want Asian food so we asked 2 hotel workers which bar serves food and both persons had no idea what we were speaking off and kept insisting only the Asian restaurant was open. We went back to the front desk who told us which bar to go to. We ordered dinner as room service since we were frustrated with our experience thus far. Room service arrived relatively quickly (only had to call once for an update) and the food was decent. Breakfast was decent as well and the workers were friendly however, the restaurant is in dire need of renovations. The tables and chair are old and ants were on the table we were initially going to sit at. Had plans to go in the pool however, the dirty lounge chairs quickly changed our minds. At check out, we were told our room charge was not paid. We said please check your records as we paid the room charges when we arrived but had to switch rooms since the air-conditioning was not working. The front desk manager's response was he can not check and do we have the receipt. We said no, it is probably in the room and we asked if he could check the hotel's receipts and transactions from yesterday. Again his response was no with no explanation. Frustrated, annoyed and mentally exhausted from the whole experience we paid the bill, only to be told if we see 2 payments being taken off of our account to call the hotel. Overall, this hotel visit was the worst experience we had and the customer service was unacceptable. We will never be returning to Accra or the sister hotel (The Adidah). Read less

My husband arrived at the hotel on Nov 18th and due to the water being off throughout the local area he wasn’t able to check in until 18:30. This was acceptable as the issue was out of his control but the following was not. The room is spacious but is very tired looking. The bed is massive and comfortable, the only positive thing about our stay… The draws in the cupboard are broken and unusable but this we could cope with, however the rest we couldn’t. The shower has a spout in the bottom which you have to pull up so the water comes out of the shower head instead of the said spout. My husband reported these issues on the 19th but nothing was done about them. I arrived late on Tuesday 21st exhausted after a nightmare journey. My husband turned the air con off but a loud constant noise still can be heard. I put my ear plugs in but this noise can still be heard, so I took a sleeping tablet. I reported the issues raised previously again yesterday (23rd ) and was assured they would be dealt with, suffice to say they have not… I didn’t raise them on the 22nd as spent the day shattered by the pool but was and am still royally ‘cheesed off’ The shower is a huge issue as I have long thick hair and it takes what feels like an eternity for it to get wet enough to shampoo as the water splutters from the head… That is once you can get the water to come through and at an acceptable temperature. The constant noise is horrendous which is why I’m up at 06:30 instead of sleeping in… We check out tomorrow and I highly doubt anything is going to be done. There are other rooms on this floor which are having maintenance done on them. Our room 474 should not be used but revenue is more important… I have a recording of the noise and shower but only have the option to load photos here. Shame, perhaps you could change this Trip Advisor? Extremely frustrated and disappointed as we have paid a lot of money to stay here. Will certainly not be returning… Read less
