Wow what can I say this hotel exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival the lovely Natasha was very attentive and helpful to check us in to put room which was upgraded to a 1 bed suite. We were shown to our room with our bags and were very happy with the room. just what we needed for the week. The rooms are spacious with everything you could possibly need. The decor was spotlessly clean and fresh and very tasteful with a lovely balcony facing out over the pool and sea. The grounds of the hotel were spotless and clean and well kept. Plenty of sun loungers either by the pool or on the beach all day long at any time. No need to have to get up early here there’s lots of choice. The guys on the beach will even come and put a parasol up for you after you have found your relaxation spot. The restaurant food is lovely and great quality with plenty to choose from, we ate here a few times in the week at lunch time and 1 evening. The pool bar was the only downside, some days the service was brilliant and some days it was lapsed and you could be waiting a while to be served Depending what staff were on. the bar manager seemed to get it moving when she was there but when she wasn’t it dropped. On one evening my self and my husband were sat having a drink and another hotel guest asked for a particular drink and the person working the bar spoke to this lady in such a bad manner it was disgusting. The said guest was clearly upset by this barman and started to get upset and he new what he had done and started to back track but the hotel guest was obviously put off and wouldn’t talk to him. overall though this didn’t spoil my holiday or my opinion over the hotel this was 1 barman. Hossay I believe. Happy one minutes grumpy the next. Overall brilliant holiday and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Barbados. Thank you!!! Read less

- Food: 5/5 - Service: 5/5 - Room: 5/5 - Amenities/atmosphere: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - WiFi: 4/5 - Gym facilities: 4/5 - Location: 4/5 - it’s not too far from amenities - note taxis are expensive and it’s a bit of a walk to the local bus stop. We came here for 8 days for a couples getaway and birthday celebration. The staff made a big effort to celebrate with us with a lovely indigenous gift and gorgeous balloons decor(much more than any other hotel we’ve been to, and we’ve been to a few) and a restaurant booking was also made special. Thank you Bougainvillea! Our room was a junior suite with inward facing views of the pool and night entertainment so we could continue listening to the beautiful music from the balcony if we wanted or just lounge on the sunbed whilst watching the sunset over the waves, or have room service candle lit dinner whilst listening to the sounds of nature. There was a fully stocked kitchenette also which made the room so much more. There’s no request from any member of staff or management for a review which is common nowadays but the effort made and the quality of the service is worth a review - thank you Allison at Calabash! We’ve said earlier in previous reviews, hotel service can make or break your holiday experience, it certainly made ours. It would be very difficult to find fault with this hotel because it really does give you a flavour of EVERYTHING Barbados has to offer - Beautiful people, extremely helpful staff, cultured decor with sights and actual nature sounds, good food, well thought out relaxing environment, great entertainment, sun, sea, sand and affordable tours guidance from concierge. We will definitely recommend this and will most certainly be coming back. One final note, Barbados is expensive generally and the hotel services and prices are on par with what is to be expected. However, in Barbados, the taxis are expensive! The taxis are very expensive!! The taxis are very very very expensive!!! Read less
