Coconut Court Beach Hotel

Barbados, Caribbean

The hotel

About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool and whirlpool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at The Deck. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features a fun sports bar and grill; and has a free shopping shuttle to Bridgetown if you fancy some retail therapy. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

The food at the restaurant is very good and our stay included breakfast which was great. We stayed a week and were given 1 beach towel each. It would have been nice to have been able to get clean ones after a few days, but that would have cost us 5.00 per towel. You may want to bring your own beach towel if staying more than 3 or 4 days. The room was very clean with updated bathrooms and the housekeeping service was very good. All in all, I would recommend this hotel as good value. Read less

On a monday evening the hotel owners put on a Captains rum punch event and meet and greet the residents of the hotel .The monday evening before we left one of the owners her name was Linda she took the time with her daughters to go to every table inside and outside to speak with everyone at the hotel which i thought was very heartwarming .The local people are all very friendly and cheery . This was our 4th year in a row at CCBH and might have been the best yet. The staff at the beach bar always treat us so good. Adio and Ryan keep the party going and Shannah makes the most amazing lemonade I've ever had. Check in was a breeze as always and they were nice enough to give us our favorite room without us even having to ask. All of the facilities are immaculate and the staff work very hard to keep them that way. Breakfast is included and excellent with a lot of choices. Glenn Johanssen is always a treat on Thursday nights too. We always go for the deluxe room and are never disappointed, the AC works like a dream, the bed couldn't be more comfortable while the walk in shower is so relaxing. Other than the staff and the friendly people we see every year the best part this year had to be the beach. In other years the seaweed has been a problem but this year we didn't see any at all. Even when there is seaweed the staff do an amazing job dealing with it, but when there's none the beach is one of the best on the island. Snorkeling right off the beach is a big time added bonus that you don't find at other hotels. The almond trees and palm trees make perfect natural umbrellas and there are always a ton of beach chairs. We were joined by a friend who was a first-timer and she loved everything as well. I'd recommend this hotel to anybody! Read less

There is a store at this hotel with a very kind older woman who works there. She helped me pick out souvenirs for my 2 year old nieces and for my brother. This hotel also has a restaurant outdoor and while we were there, they had a BBQ night with an outdoor mini buffet and live music. I really enjoyed my stay here; you have direct access to the beach with beach chairs and umbrellas. The ocean water is fun to swim in and very relaxing. They offer shuttle service to the airport, so we ordered a shuttle to the airport at 4am and the taxi could not fit all of our luggage in the trunk. We had to wait for another taxi to come that would fit all 4 of us plus our luggage and we were lucky we didn't miss our flight. Overall the experience here was pleasant. Read less

This was our 5th visit to CCBH and once again it was a lovely stay! Our driver Michael (I think that was his name) was there waiting for us at the airport. Only a short wait for the rest of the group pick up, and we were off to the hotel. Check in was very swift and before we knew it we were at captain Charlie's for happy hour! Perfect! As ever the staff were superb, was lovely to be greeted by so many familiar faces. I think the staff are probably my favourite thing about staying here- it's like coming home. Our room was on the top floor which we always ask for, and we were in the furthest block away from the restaurant area. It is quieter for when there is music on downstairs, not that we ever had any issue with noise (apart from the bleep bleep frogs which we adore!!). The room was big , clean with a lovely waterfall shower, and the biggest bed ever! Love it! Thanks also for our lovely wedding anniversary card! We ate at Jake's across the road, part of the hotel, more than once and the new renovations and menu are really good! We remember it when it was the blue room which was more of a sports bar, now it's more restaurant-y if that makes sense. I can recommend the seafood ceviche and the blackened marlin. Mmmmm..... also like mama miss pizzas. Berts convenience store across the road is useful for lots of things if the hotel shop is closed. Bert himself is a legend! We did the catamaran trip again with sail calabaza, swimming with turtles! Did the 5 hour day trip with lunch which was awesome! Have done the sunset trip before which I can also highly recommend. So to finish, all I can say is once again we loved every minute of our time with you all. Linda and Mark, it was lovely to see you both at the managers party. Big love to all the staff especially Adio, Antonio, Ethan, Tisha, shannah, Ryan, Hadfield Donna, Mark, Gerald, Laurence and all of you. To any of you reading this review looking for somewhere to stay, CCBH has the warmth and personal touches you won't find in big hotels. I can't wait to come back! One love! Read less
