Coconut Court Beach Hotel

Barbados, Caribbean

The hotel

About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool and whirlpool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at The Deck. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features an open air restaurant overlooking the white sand beach; and has a free shopping shuttle to Bridgetown if you fancy some retail therapy. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

Its just a pity the coming hurricane spoiled the 2nd weeks party but we survived by having our own party on the beach. The location of the hotel and free airport transfers are really worth considering when booking as this is an excellent perk. All in all Coconut Court are like extended family and we would never stay anywhere else if we return in the coming years. Thanks for everything you guys did too make my 60th Birthday unforgettable we made memories that will last a lifetime. Read less

The view from our room was just unbelievable with a clear ocean view you couldn't ask for more. The room was great, the TV was a great size and had what you needed on it, you have a music speaker that you can dock your phone on to and play music from whilst it charges too! The shower was excellent and so was the balcony. Special shout out to Antonio and Ryan as well as the cleaning staff who were all exceptional during our stay! Now the only downsides to this place was that I think once a week they would put on a catering team that served select food and nothing at all from their own menu which was a little frustrating because you were limited for choice. As well as that my and my partner got engaged over their and we had hoped maybe as a nice gesture they would offer even a free drink but that was not the case, we also had a big 60th birthday party too and again nothing offered as a kind gesture not that it matters but we had hoped considering we as a group of 12 people had pumped a lot of money into that bar and restaurant. Would absolutely recommend you stay here as it is a brilliant hotel and to be fair the negatives are not a big deal in any way, there are far more positives and if we ever come back this is without a doubt where I would stay! One of my best holidays so far, staff were very lovely and always smiling and checking on you. The most beautiful beach and teds tour is a must! The breakfast had different variety every day and you can help yourself to water whenever. Very lovely all round. And the balcony and room was very spacious and a great view. Would travel and stay again.

We contacted Coconut Court Beach Hotel direct when our original holiday package deal fell through. We were devastated and still wanted to stay at this specific hotel. They were extremely helpful and booking with them direct we received complimentary breakfast and return hotel transfers included in the price. So, of course we agreed and we arrived on 15th August (10 nights) and to our surprise they upgraded our room to 'sea view'. The staff were extremely helpful. Che, in particular helped us with some banking issues at the start of our trip, which would have caused us panic and worry, but she was AMAZING. Things to know: 1. The beach bar is cash only unless you spend over $25/30 (BBD) and make sure you book your return shuttle in advance. 3. Use the buses. They are frequent and will give you change. 4. Jake's restaurant- the worst opposite, the hotel give you a voucher, but didn't dream of returning. 5. Hire a car- we hired a car for 3 days and saw ALL the attractions on our to-do list. It was fantastic. 6. Be careful when walking on the streets, the pavements tend to disappear. 7. Use bug spray at night. 8. People have said breakfast is repetitive- I disagree. There is plenty of food and choice. 9. Pina Coladas at the hotel are delicious-Happy Hour (all day) is Wednesday. 10. Our beach IS the best beach we saw on holiday. We visted Paynes Bay, Crane Beach, Carlisle Bay, Speightstown, Holetown and others nothing beat it. We are already looking to come back!! We just LOVED it! Read less

Ashley in reception...Trainee... should be promoted as her customer service skills are great. Staff knowledgable about any enquiries that you may have on sights to see or places to visit. There is an activities centre on site with excursions to book. There is Aircon in the rooms and reception area. Breakfast area is open to the elements but Bajan and chilled in mood. Egg station and plenty of choice which is rotated daily. Ronelle was one of our waitresses and was great with her banter every time we saw her. Watch out for the birds at breakfast as they will eat anything you leave not covered. They will also drink your juice if its not covered.!!! This is a great place for chilling out, not far from the town and walkable. Bridgetown is accessible by hotel shuttle, free to guests. free airport transfers too, which was welcoming. Barbados is expensive generally but if you hire a car there are many supermarkets within 10 or 20 mins where general foodstuff is cheaper than the local nearby ones. Read less
