Coconut Court Beach Hotel

Barbados, Caribbean

Virgin rating

The hotel

About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool and whirlpool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at The Deck. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features an open air restaurant overlooking the white sand beach. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

When I booked this they took an extra payment off my card for a similar amount, they denied this repeatedly even though I sent them proof of my credit card statement, after several emails they looked in to it a with their card provider and discovered I was right even though I had proof. When we were there they did this again and I showed them the credit card statement at reception, I was there a couple of hours trying to sort as they couldn’t see it again and they told me to wait until the 30th as it would get refunded back to my card. This never happened so I sent them a message through booking.com who I booked it with and they replied saying please send an email to our reservations dept and gave me the email address, obviously I did this immediately and have had no reply, I have since sent further emails to the address they gave me and also through booking.com. I am still awaiting responses never mind a resolution! I never leave negative reviews but I have to make people aware what has happened and hopefully I will get a response through this channel. This is so bad and I am beyond disappointed and upset that a company like this can just take your money and then completely ignore you in the hope you will go away, well I’m Sorry but I think we all work too far hard for our wages and can ill afford to be robbed like this, it’s absolutely outrageous. So please check all your transactions carefully when handing your credit card over to this company. Read less

Upon arrival the staff allowed me to check in early which I appreciated. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. The breakfast was a hit every morning, the staff was friendly and courteous. I’d recommend this little oasis to anyone to visit!
