Coconut Court Beach Hotel

Barbados, Caribbean

The hotel

About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool and whirlpool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at The Deck. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features an open air restaurant overlooking the white sand beach; and has a free shopping shuttle to Bridgetown if you fancy some retail therapy. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

Our first time to Coconut Court will most certainly not be our last. We experienced nothing but friendly & dedicated staff along with very good accomodation and beautiful location. I recommend booking direct with hotel to request breakfast included at no extra cost because it is hands down worth it!! The rooms are totally adequate with great facilities, the atmosphere is relaxed but with plenty of extras should you need them. The breakfast is great start to your day with so much choice & variety, highly reccomend. The beach bar does great lunch options along with great drinks, happy hours & specials-shout out to Adio who was excellent! The restaurant is also great for lunch & evening meals, shout out to Asha, always smiling & greeted you by name!. The patio & beach are perfect as is the fantastic reef with many tropical fish!! Snorkeling was fantastic and so close to beach. We totally loved our 2wk stay & definitely intend to return asap. The whole area in this location had many options for eating out/drinks, walking, shopping & if you like exploring further many other great options in walking or further away using the awesome Toot-Toot buses that constantly run past the hotel. This area was completely safe & friendly. Ted's Tour Bus offers a fantastic tour of the island with Ted's great banter & Rum Punch!! Go to Oistin's on Fri or Sat for fresh caught fish supper & entertainment. Opposite the hotel are to very good restaurants, Jake's & Mamma Mia's with good menus & options, average prices! There are also many other options if you don't mind a 5-10+ minute walk, excellent places with varying menu's/prices but be aware the pavements are hap-hazard, rough & sometimes non-existent, but with care & attention we had no problems. There is also a small supermarket at Lanterns Mall 5-10mins walk from hotel which sells usual toiletries & such, groceries, frozen food, some beers/alcohol & meat patty's. Cannot recommend any higher. LOVED IT!!! Read less

We had an ocean view room with a fabulous balcony. Every day was bliss. We could walk out to the beach only a few steps from the patio where we ate breakfast every day. We had many meals here simply because it was so beautiful. The team at this hotel really have their game on. They were professional, pleasant, funny, and kind. The beach is uncrowded, the water warm with a long period during the day in which it is shallow enough to walk out and see colourful fish swimming around. We also snorkled which was fantastic. The sunsets were wonderful. This should be rated 5 star for the experience. Read less
