On arrival we were checked in by a very unfriendly rude receptionist. There was no welcome, we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience. We stayed in room 407 a two bedroom apartment on top floor. Plenty of room for four adults. Main bedroom floor heavily stained and very unsightly. Bedroom Window facing beach was letting in water and tiled floor had large pools of water on it causing a severe risk of slipping. Hotel made aware of this and offered no assistance. Safe did not work on arrival but was repaired the day after arrival but only when I went in search of the maintenance man who needed to complete repair. Internet not good and you continuously had to re log in. TV did not work properly. No hot water for 4 days. Lounge patio window leaked water into lounge area, caused flooding. No beach towels available on check in. We had again go in search of these the day after. Fixtures and fittings very poor, stained toilet and rusty fixtures. Heavily stained tiles on bedroom floor. Blinds filthy and not useable. Lift often not working. Beds comfortable. Location ok. Cleaners worked hard. Beach nice but sea very rough. Non residents observed using hotel facilities such as pool, shower and sun beds. This was ignored by security. Restaurant limited so we did not use. A trip booked with Reggie from hotel, we were given a written quote but then charged 25 US dollars more than quote. Hotel used my credit card without authorisation Read less

I’m writing this review of my experience at Coral Mist Beach Hotel when I’m actually still a guest here. This is unusual but I did not want to risk forgetting to do this after I returned to the UK I chose Barbados after visiting family in Trinidad because everything about Barbados spells authentic customer service. This for me starts with the ease of moving through immigration and customs (individual digital stations) to kind taxi drivers (Wayne, for instance who allowed a quick stop to buy water and fruit) to the welcome and experience at the hotel. Due to a last minute flight booking, I got to the hotel about 6 hours before check in at 3pm not at all expecting my room to be available. Tamsin (Front Desk) was exceptional: she was warm, welcoming and stored my bags while I waited in the restaurant for my lunch reservation. She also took me to Tabi, the restaurant manager, who by prior arrangement with Sheniz, very generously agreed to store my frozen items even though the freezer space was limited. By the time I returned to the hotel after lunch I was shattered as I had been awake since 3am to catch a 7am flight. You cannot imagine my gratitude when Tamsin told me that she had arranged for my bags and personal belongings to be taken up to my room. To top it all, when I got up to my room, my water and fruit were in the fridge and my frozen items placed in the freezer. This gesture of empathy and kindness spoke volumes of the high level customer care. I was very pleased that my room was large, cool and clean the King Size bed very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised that the kitchen had a proper sized refrigerator (with ample freezer), stove, toaster, percolator and kettle. The crockery was more than adequate and I appreciated the the thoughtfulness of a staff to anticipate all my needs. The biggest draw for me was that all the rooms of the hotel are literally on the beach so you are continually soothed by the loud sound of the surf and have your own balcony overlooking the beautiful aquamarine ocean where you can sit to enjoy the sunrise, sunset and the beautiful ocean. This is now my last night and I would be genuinely sad to leave. All in all, I had a wonderful time and felt really cared for and valued by all the staff mentioned as well as all others that I encountered. Thank you Team Coral Mist. Hope to see you next year and keep up the good work. Read less
