We were on our honeymoon and had such a lovely time in Barbados, the locals were lovely, however if I did plan to return I would have stayed at a hotel near the Gap, as there really wasn’t any food places or bars close by to walk to in the evening. Me and my partner do not really care so much about the hotel itself on holiday as we normally spend most of our time out anyway, however we do like to spend time by the pool, the pool itself was lovely! We did however start getting a bit frustrated by the facilities at the hotel, as we felt we were constantly being ripped off, to the point we refused to spend anymore of our money at the hotel ($34 for 2 beers, $39 on a pre made salad and over $100 for one bottle of wine etc.) we also felt the staff were not the friendliest and we didn’t feel particularly welcome when we did order food and drinks, which was really overpriced and service charge was added to everything, even when you served yourself. We had breakfast at the hotel once and regretted our decision as the total cost was $160 for two of us and a bird stole a piece of bacon from my husbands plate. At the end of the stay, we had to pay tax (which we was expecting) but also 10% service charge, which I feel was not worth it, as we was room only and only had our room serviced 5 times in 2 weeks, due to either housekeeping trying to clean it at 5pm when we was getting ready to go out for dinner or due to covid policies. If you were planning on staying here and money is not an issue then you will most likely be fine but if do have a budget then I would consider staying somewhere where you would get more value for your money. We held our winter conference here for 5 days. It was very quiet at the hotel due to covid still lurking around, so it was mostly us and air crews staying. The service was good, but I feel for the money they charge per night, you can get much more luxury for your money. The hotel rooms need some major investment. Food was generally ok, and we had… Read more

The Sunday afternoon band, I think its called L8 Bluma, is such a great time. They not only rock it but the lead guitarist also interacts with the audience in a really cool way. It breaks the ice and puts everyone in a good mood. I have to say, I wouldn't come back for the food, and the amenities are a bit run down, but I would definitely come… Read more

Check in was fine and the room was clean over looking the bay but lacked facilities such as nearby ice machine and having to rely on a coffee shop that was very expensive. The hotel is on a penisula with no where else to visit close by so felt completely dependent on the hotel restuarants. The service in the Lighthouse restuarant was quite slow but the food was good. The poolside was lovely as was the poolside bar but felt this hotel was more business orientated as used by flight crew etc. The hotel also had an on-site covid test centre which we paid for in-room upon our return to England which was efficient but expensive. The beach was beautiful and very clean. There is a concierge on hand to arrange for trips etc. There was plenty of beach activities on offer such as scuba diving but evening entertainment was none. I was on a Silversea cruise which booked us into this hotel. The rooms were not ready for hours; in fact some of the guests waited until after 10 pm for a room. I lucked out and got mine at 6 pm. My room was great, once assigned but others I spoke with were not so lucky and reported bad conditions. The only food to be had was outside in the heat by the pool. The bar/pub inside the hotel was not open, nor was the ONE sit down restaurant, which was fine when it was open. There was no where to wait in comfort, and no effort was made to give drinks of water to waiting guests, or set up additional seating. ALL of the available seating was taken, with people constantly milling around in the lobby. At one point, six persons were behind the registration desk. Only one of them was actually registering incoming guests. We had to ask three times for the manager before she actually made an appearance, reluctantly. For those booking for a vacation, the Hilton Beach is very small and is not connected to existing lovely beaches on Barbados. I would NEVER return to this hotel. It is in no way deserving of a 4 star rating. I am glad I was there only the one night. Read less
