I stayed in the Hilton for a week in August. The hotel is obviously not brand new but is in good condition with a great beach with snorkelling of the fort side and easy access to Carlisle bay as an alternative. I intended on diving on this trip and part of my decision to stay at the Hilton was a dive centre on campus which I'll review separately, suffice to say it was very good. I booked two Ocean View Executive rooms which were spacious with high ceilings and very clean. The decor was tasteful and the quality was great bearing in mind it's not a new hotel. My experience of the service levels of the staff was way above what I had expected. Everyone I met was friendly, professional and would be a major part of any decision I make to return. The breakfast team ended up as friends. I would say that if you treat people as you would expect to be treated yourself, and your genuine, then bad service is very unlikely. We ate at the pool and the buffet, the buffet wasn't by choice but as a result of Dorian shaping up before it became the monster that caused such awful devastation. During this time the restaurant staff showed their true colours. It was packed, busy, overrun with all guests being forced to eat in one place. I didn't see a cross face, hear a stern word or see any staff becoming frustrated with either guests or each other. It was very impressive. The Hilton brand for me doesn't have the same gravitas as it used to as there are many luxury brands raising standards to new levels. The staff at the Hilton Barbados represent the standard I used to expect from a Hilton headed up by Tammy the GM who has no issues with rolling up her sleeves when required. They were fantastic well done to all of you. I would have no hesitation at all in returning to the Hilton, I travelled with my wife and three children aged 15,13 and 7. Read less

Room was an exceptional ocean view. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The beach area was very nice. The hotel also has beautiful pools. On Friday they have a bonfire with karaoke, very nice. I was able to sit at my balcony and listen to it and the ocean views.

I am an avid traveler. I take at LEAST 7 trips out of the country yearly! I am not new to travel, nor am I new to what’s to be going expected of resorts out of the country. I am an avid traveler. I take at LEAST 7 trips out of the country yearly! I am not new to travel, nor am I new to what’s to be going expected of resorts out of the country. I am currently still here at Hilton Barbados, and I must say this is BY FAR the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life. For starters, I paid $405 dollars nightly. That is not an issue, I’ve paid more elsewhere. The issue lies in a hotel that has the audacity to charge that amount for sub par service, sub par food, and sub par hotel accommodations. I would pay no than $100 for the level of resort this is. Room service came to take soiled towels from the room. Not only did they not replace the towels, but they didn’t bother cleaning the room. I can’t understand the logic. When I called front desk to ask if it were typical the employee got upset with me, as though I asked room service not to service my room. I have been bitten by God knows what while resting. The food, more particularly the breakfast buffet, is absolutely DISGUSTING, and the workers have very unprofessional attitudes. I was not even greeted when I walked up to attempt to get an omelette by an older female worker. Apparently I upset her to ask her to do her job. Furthermore, I was not told that this disgusting buffet was 65 US dollars. The rooms stink, and are outdated. The pictures online certainly do justice as they are not a true representation of what’s to be expected. There is ZERO entertainment here. A gentleman at the pool bar became so vexed, he pulled out his phone and played music just to entertain his company, and all others. Did I mention I waited at the pool bar for 20 minutes before I was even ACKNOWLEDGED? A simple “hello” would suffice. I am not difficult to please. Even native bajan people recommended that we not waste our money in the resort, as it’s disgusting. I have traveled to more than 30 countries, this is BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE. Barbados itself is BEAUTIFUL! The people are friendly and welcoming. This resort is HORRIBLE. It does not, in any capacity amount to the Hilton brand. DO NOT WASTE YOUR WELL EARNED MONEY! There is much more to report, but I’m just so incapacitated and underwhelmed by this experience. I must reiterate, I NEVER write reviews. That should definitely be a sign. Read less

Just spare yourself and book somewhere else. Read less
