The room was top tier and the balcony overlooking the hotel and beach was breathtaking however some of the staff seem annoyed that we even existed in their presence while others was extremely nice and to name a few, Zion, Khadijah, & Renardo! In my personal opinion Renardo need a raise because even though the atmosphere was like a retirement spot he made the drinks at the swim up bar & played a little r & b music just to change the atmosphere a little bit. lol we had others come over and join the silent turnt up lol My overall experience in Barbados was relaxing and well rested. I really think the resort should have a section for the parties that guest would like to endure. Thanks for your hospitality! Read less

The restaurants brought drinks and took orders quickly, however, the food generally took at least an hour to come out of the kitchen. Once you had the food it was good and the ingredients were fresh. The wine selection was good, my personal favourite was the pink bubbles, as were the cocktail selection (I recommend the watermelon cooler). The room was sizeable and my only criticism would be there isn’t enough storage space for a family of 4. If you are travelling with younger children the sofa bed is absolutely fine but for 2 teenagers it proved a little snug. The balcony was amazing and the room was cleaned to a high standard and drinks were restocked daily. I am a beach and sea person so wanted to review this. The beach and sand are lovely and the guys who look after the beach are always on hand to get you beds and shade should you need it. The service on the beach is as attentive and faultless as everywhere else at the hotel. The entry into the sea can be tricky so I’d recommend sea shoes. If you enjoy waves you’ll love this little beach. Maxwell beach is a 3 minute walk from the hotel, I’d definitely recommend going there for a swim as it’s much easier to get in and sea and gives you more of a Caribbean experience. In the evening the hotel is very quiet but the town is only a couple of minutes walk if you fancy something a bit more lively. Read less

We had a great holiday staying here with no major issues. With a few tweaks this hotel could be fabulous. It’s not 5 star but so could be! Staff are generally friendly with the more experienced being more accommodating. A few deadpan faces & slow to serve, not quite so welcoming with a few ‘no’s’ & lack of willingness to help. (This is so easily rectified). Note this isn’t all individuals! Gym was sufficient, basic but clean. Lack of sunbeds around pool areas with no ability to obtain from beach (a straight ‘no you can’t’ when asked to take from stack of sunbeds on beach!) Cleanliness ok however, wipe the tables by the sunbeds! Sunbed cushions grubby & stained some sunbeds are metal framed, (be careful with youngsters they get so hot). Areas of the beach a little shabby, need a tidy up again easily rectified, specifically where sunbeds are stacked. Room was clean & comfortable with some nice touches. Had to ask for towels regularly but they came quick. Lovely spa with wonderful treatment from room spa credits. Great drinks, good cocktails & milkshakes! Food was ok, Elements buffet, breakfast, lunch & dinner very good. The a la carte, disappointing. Brisa tapas, food was disappointing but a great spot for sundowners to watch the sunset, could be fabulous up there but no ambience or atmosphere. The roof top terrace again was a lovely area & could be great but no real offering up there. Bluefin, long waits for food but pretty ok overall, good menu choice & evening buffet was nice. Oro was wonderful! If the service ambience & level of quality here was replicated throughout the hotel it would be fabulous! It felt like 2 different hotels, the adult area & clearly the newer side needs little change, modern & as a 5 star hotel should be, the older family side could be vastly improved & updated, more 3 star, a little shabby & rundown. Overall, an average hotel that was just ok, could be great. We probably wouldn’t return or recommend. Read less

Guests mind their own business and they're all nice looking to relax and have a peaceful time. I love the convenience of having a beach on the premise, and a number of pools to try out. I came here on a solo vacation for my birthday and to be away from work and the cold weather on the east coast of the US. The staff surprised me with a cute birthday surprise in my bedroom when I got back to room. They also planned a very nice surprise dessert for me for dinner. It was super sweet and special. They didn't have to do that, I wasn't expecting anything. It was a very kind, thoughtful gesture. They really do care about their customers and hospitality and take pride in their work and culture. I miss the beach, the smell of the ocean, being woken up by roosters, seeing the roosters roam freely, the sun, the warm weather, the kindness of everyone in general, the seafood. I highly recommend and would love to come back with my mother some day. Great place to solo travel as a female Read less

I had the absolute best solo birthday trip in Barbados thanks to my stay at O2 Beach Club and Spa. I stayed for a short period approximately April 2nd - April 6th, yet the staff there made it a memorable trip that I will always remember fondly. Firstly, on arrival I was greeted and checked-in by Janelle who was very nice and welcoming. She made the check-in process smooth and hassle free and made me feel welcomed on arrival. I was then given a tour of the property by Chiana who was very friendly and informative. Chiana was also kind enough to make me reservations for dinner for my first night at the resort, which I was grateful for. Both Janelle and Chiana set the tone for what was going to be a very great 4 day trip! The resort was absolutely stunning and my suite had a direct view of the ocean with a full mini-fridge. The property is so beautiful and just as advertised. I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but unfortunately did not plan for any excursions ahead of time due to my busy work schedule days leading up to the trip. Anthony at guest services was a huge help in helping me arrange my excursions at the last minute. Anthony scheduled the catamaran cruise excursion, and a private island tour including Harrison’s cave, Mount gay rum tour, and flower animal cave for the last 2 days of my trip. I had a great time doing both activities and really go to explore the island of Barbados and learn it’s rich history. More of the staff that made my stay special include Joyanne, Nickoletta, Ronaldo, and Shadell who helped give me suggestions on what I could do while in Barbados and were also very welcoming. This was my first solo trip and as a young woman I felt completely safe. The drivers/taxi’s arranged by the resort for me to go on my excursions were all operated by respectable and professional people. I would recommend any female solo traveler to stay here, you will have the best time!! Read less
