Rostrevor Apartment Hotel

Barbados, Caribbean

The hotel

Oozing island charm, this bijou beauty has just 79 rooms but packs in plenty of reasons as to why it deserves a visit. Inspired by its stunning waterfront location, just a stroll from the heart of St Lawrence Gap with its great bars, restaurants and nightlife, Rostrevor Apartment Hotel features just enough turquoise touches to remind you the ocean’s right outside — in fact, every guest room looks out over it. If you want to get even closer, the swimming pool sits a few mere metres from the ocean, on a bluff-like perch that creates absorbing views as you swim and sunbathe. An equally alluring sunbathing spot, the secluded sands of Rostrevor Beach fringe the hotel. The pool’s paired with one of the hotel’s two eateries, the Almond Tree Pool Bar, so you can dine in casual comfort during the day, before heading to the other restaurant, The Harlequin, for International food with Caribbean flair for a delicious evening meal.

Well we bit the bullet after May was cancelled and rebooked for 29th August for 22 nights it was like our window of opportunity. We thank God we did , Covid tests ect and Barbados are so well organised We arrived to the usual lovely warm reception by Nat ❤️ Went back to our usuals rooms of 116 and 117 , its like home spotless and that view ahh We thought everything would be closed , although bar was obvious reasons , we had the pool and beach . This holiday was going to be something completely different to other years , but not spoiled at all . We rested we read and stayed closer to home . lots of places were open for breakfast and lunch so not stuck for choice , at night Harlequin open so lovely and Sharkeys , Mimosa , Tabu ect , sadly Frank was not open as he was shielding quite rightly but we missed him .Philip and wife next goor to Franks made us welcome , Hals bar , cocktail kitchen and cafe Sol xxx Ray was take ill the first week and was rushed into Queen Elizabeth hospital , Robyn was a stalwart, she gave so much support and did so much for us , we love her and her kindness will not be forgotten . it was a scary 48 hrs , Smudger and I stayed put and Housekeeper gave us all we needed as Ray had to have another covid test as high temperature but it was blocked salivary gland and negative but so professional. there were many Cuban nurses staying in older bocks and to hear their laugher , music and swimming in the sea at night was joyous God bless them 🙏 We went to Boatyard once a week fabulous x Now for mentions including Robyn of course , Nat and Jenny on reception, lovely security men , Paul and Wayne , the lovely housekeeping team, you are the reason we come back time and again , we think of you as family , repeat visitors from the world ove because this hotel hotel has got it right , Love from me Linda ! We stayed in this hotel for the first time my friend and I. Local amenities were very good and local transport great. Staff helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful holiday and we would definitely stay there again. Hopefully if all goes well in these uncertain times will be there again next year!

If I'm not staying at an all inclusive hotel, I opt for one that has a kitchenette. This hotel fit the bill with large clean rooms, great service and ocean views. It's conveniently located about twenty minutes from the airport and close to all the amenities in the vibrant St Lawrence area.

I’ve stayed at Rostrevor a few times and have just returned from a 2 week break there. I stayed in the newer block and found the room to be very spacious and had everything I needed. Could hear a bit of noise at night but it’s on one of the most lively streets in Barbados so it’s to be expected. I can’t really fault the staff either especially putting a complimentary bottle of wine in my room for a birthday. This hotel offer good value for money but I unfortunately won’t be returning :( This is solely due to the fact I like nothing more than to lie on a sunbed whilst on holiday and to achieve this involved being awake before the birds!! On my first day I came down at 7am to find all beds with umbrellas reserved!! 7am!! It soon became apparent that if you wanted a bed you had to be down with towels at 6am. I really think the hotel need to get a hold of this as the selfish people who did this need to be stopped, it’s not fair on the rest of the guests who actually want to have a rest and enjoy the facilities. I’d suggest a lockdown of the pool area until 8am to make it fair for everyone. Other than this issue I have no complaints. Read less
