This was our 3rd Sandals and probably our favorite - St. Lucia Grande and Antigua being our other Sandals resorts we'd been too. When booking, we decided to splurge a little and try the Butler suite. I had researched both properties, Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados. It was between a Concierge suite on the Royal Side and a 1-Bedroom Butler Suite on the Barbados side. They were actually the same price so we thought we would try the Butler's. Now let me give you some background, we have been to many vacation spots and have our routine down to a science so the thought of having Butler's was a little out of our element, let me re-phrase that, A LOT out of our element. I will say this, we LOVED them!! They were fantastic and worth the extra money. We arrived late Friday May 10th and left Saturday May 18th. We sat in the lobby checking in with a cool cloth and a welcome drink for about 15 minutes - do the online check in before you arrive, it saves a lot of time. Someone then walked us to our room - it was after midnight when we arrived so the resort was very quiet. Our room was great - clean and there was a plate of cheese and meat and crackers for us as well as all of our Butler information and phone. We had Archiebald and Jerome - one of the only two-men teams working both resorts and who were both incredible people!! We were in the back of the resort - on the 3rd floor of the Wolcott Building and the room was perfect. They had the alcohol and pop we had requested ahead of time for the room and we snacked while unpacking and then collapsed. The next morning we took our time getting up and ready, wandered the resort then called our Butler to meet up. Jerome was on in the morning and he greeted us with Mimosa's then we toured both resorts with him. That evening Archiebald greeted us in full-tuxedo and white gloves (poor butlers - it's so hot!) and walked us to dinner, getting us set up at a table and getting our drinks while we waited for our waitress. We discussed with him where we wanted to be the following morning - beach or pool and off he went to take care of his other "clients". Overall we used the Butlers to save our space by the pool or beach each morning, taking us to dinner in the evenings and bringing us our cooler while at the beach or pool. One day Jerome brought us snacks at the pool, otherwise, we got off our butts and got our own things. That is what we were not used to with the butlers and I know we did not utilize them for half of what they were willing to do, but it was just not necessary to us. Jerome set us up with two baths on the balcony to relax in after a hard day of laying by the pool...lol Archiebald hung out with us for a "Drink" (a bottle of water for him) after dinner one evening and we got to know both of them. Wonderful, wonderful people!! When we go back to this resort, and we will, we will totally get the butler's again and will request both of these gentlemen. Now to the resort - Clean and friendly / Housekeeping was perfect and on our "schedule". The grounds, immaculate and beautiful - these guys bust their butts every day! The beach - very windy! We were out there 2 days and the water was incredible but we got a little "sanded" out and preferred the pool on the Royal side at the back of the resort with the swim-up bar, by the bowling alley. The first couple of days at the beach were great but we thought we would try the pool and the rest of the week, the winds changed and blew the seaweed in to shore. No fault of Sandals, they were out there raking every day after that so the pool was perfect. Food - Overall really good - American Tavern one night the kitchen was all messed up - food was coming out all at once for 10 different tables. No idea what happened there that night but it was probably our least favorite restaurant for dinner and not just because of the kitchen errors - the food was just ok. It was good for breakfast as they have a buffet and it was not nearly as crowded as Spices. We did not eat at either Butch's, the Indian restaurant or the French restaurant and did not make it to Schooner's either. Everywhere else was good - the sushi is delicious and the hibachi restaurant was very good with a HUGE amount of food! You will not go hungry anywhere on this resort. We took the afternoon sunset snorkeling catamaran cruise which was a blast and snorkeled with turtles and over a shipwreck - highly recommend the sunset cruise!! We booked that through the resort. We did not utilize the spa as it's 3X what we pay at home and we are pretty spoiled with our local spa by us. Overall, the trip was a lot of fun and very relaxing. We spent our days by the pool and beach, sipping new concoctions our Butler would bring us to try when bringing our cooler and meeting new people to chat with. We spend our evenings eating great food then wandering the resort or hanging at the roof top bar and enjoying the breezes up there. I know some people complained about the service, but in the week long stay we probably had 2 bouts of slow service. You're on vacation...RELAX! Never did we have bad service - no one was ever rude or nasty to us at all. We found the staff to be most pleasant, even when it's 90 degrees, they are in long pants and working 10-12 hours each day. Give them some credit...it's not an easy job by any means! Thank you Sandals and Thank you Jerome and Archiebald!! We will be back! Read less

Amazing vacation. 😎 So many memories made. Met awesome people and staff is top notch. Food is made with love. Beaches are beautiful. Sandals Barbados is a two for one since Sandals Royal is just steps away. Sandals is the only place to stay. We call it home no matter which one we go to. This is our 5th. Just booked another for 2021.

We had a butler level room, and I must say it was well worth it. Our butlers: Jerome, Marquita and Kashida, made our stay extra special. Not only were they there for us whenever we needed something, they would also surprise us throughout our stay by doing things we didn’t even ask for. They learned what we like and would bring us our favorite snacks and drinks during the day. We would return to our room to find champagne and snacks waiting for us. Sometimes we even returned to find a warm bobble bath waiting for us as well. We can’t wait for our next Sandals vacation! Read less

We stayed here for 7 nights in May, the resort is very busy with lots going on, the European pool area being quieter, there is always sun beds whether at pool or beach although front beds at beach are usually taken quite early The food at all restaurants was fantastic, my favourite being la parisenne up on the roof, the french onion soup followed by chateaubriand was delicious, All the staff are friendly and everyone says hello When we arrived we were shown to our room, which has plenty of storage space The male that took us gave us a brief tour en route to the room, our one issue was there was no information in the room as to where restaurants where & opening times or activities list, 4 days into our holiday a helpful man at bowling alley ,on seeing we still didn’t know things he explained that they do orientation daily but as we weren’t told this at start so bit annoying as we’d missed out on lots, I did go to reception to say we were disappointed & she said she would make a note but there was no apology & couldn’t make up for what we’d missed or the time we spent aimlessly looking around for things, shame as this spoilt it for us, it really was the only negative, The round bar is the place to drink in the evenings with such fun staff,Abike,Eugene & Shamar, they had us smiling every evening Our maid was called Sparkle, yes you heard correctly lol, Overall I would go back & do recommend but would suggest they let you know about orientation meeting Read less
