After several friends recommended we stay on The Gap for our honeymoon we decided to book the Southern Palms Beach Club. The hotel is approximately 5 minutes walk to the lively centre of the gap, so you are close enough to it but far enough away from the music which cannot be heard at the hotel. The hotel is all you need, friendly staff who will more than accommodate you. You are right on the beach, without having to wrestle for beds in the early hours. The pool is maintained daily. The rooms are generous with a balcony overlooking the pool and beach. The food is great if you don’t fancy a trip out and just want a lazy day soaking up the Bajan sun. Keep up the great work and especially to our new friend Chad... 👍🏻👍🏻 Read less

We stayed for one week at SP, end of May 2019; excellent staff, fantastic location, hotel slightly dated, could do with some renovations, etc; very helpful staff throughout, couldn't do enough for you.

My wife and I spent a week here and recommend this hotel. Our stay was from 21 to 28 April. We concur with other reviews that it is a little dated however, our room, 206 was clean, in good repair and, other than a coffee machine, had everything we needed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The staff at the bar and restaurant were friendly but a few appeared to move a little slower than the rest and sometimes service lagged, however with the views and ocean breeze, slightly slow service is just fine. We stayed in room 206 and it was ocean view, with one king bed. The bed, bedding and pillows were amazing! Air conditioning worked, and water pressure was fine. The room had a mini fridge and an electric kettle. The one issue with room 206 was street noise. On the first night, a Sunday, the noise coming from a Karaoke bar was awful. The next morning we complained and were offered to change rooms. We opted to stay put, and other than some crowd noise, it was OK. One minor issue is that there is a charge to use the room safe. The hotel allows you to use a box at check in free of charge but if you want to use the room safe there is a charge. The beach is spectacular. The dreaded beach chair hogs were out on a few days but we always managed to get a shady spot if we were out by 8. The beach was never crowded and very relaxing. We had breakfast and supper once each at the restaurant, a little pricy and we found the bar prices reasonable (around 4 Canadian dollars for a beer) Read less

What a fantastic hotel. The lication in the Gap is jyst perfect; close enough to everything and far enough from noise. The hotel is lovely and well kept, with fantastic staff. Room: we had a sea view room which was lovely. There is a safe, which you pay for, and a sink. The showers are brilliant and the cleaner comes everyday. The bed was a kingsize with a nice firm mattress. The hotel levy charge is B$19 per person per day, give or take a few cents. You get a pink beach towel that can be changed everyday. You must return the towels at the end of your stay or you are charged $50 per missing towel. Beach: This was the best part. The hotel doesnt allow sun umbrellas so the whole beach looks stunning without rows of umbrellas. Uts also a fairly quuet beach. If you're worried, theres rows of palm trees to plot under to give you shade. The hotel pool loungers do have umbrellas. The pool area is very well kept and the pools are generally quite warm due to being under the sun. There is a carpark, if you've hired a car. There is entertainment on various days and evenings, which includes a stell drum band, which was brilliant. The restaurant food was lovely. A tad bit more pricey but very nice. My only compmaint would be the breakfast, which you dont get much for the price, that is if you're paying for breakfast every day. At the end of our stay the hotel was gracious to let us keep the room until we left, without any extra charge. All in all this is my favourite hotel. I really cannot fault it and it was so beautiful. This is my return hotel next year for definite. It was just perfect. I give it 5 stars. Tips: best place to change money is at the Scotia bank opposite rockley beach. I change £2000 without issue at good rate but get there early. I tried the republic bank but the only allowed a maximum change of £390 per day, which was hopeless. When you go out of the hotel, turn right and keep walking youll come to a slots gambling place which will also change uk cash for a slightly less exchange rate but its still handy. Read less
