Southern Palms Beach Club

Barbados, Caribbean

The hotel

This lovely hotel is spread out along 1,000 ft of oceanfront at St Lawrence Gap, so has the best of both worlds — there are spacious grounds in which to relax and unwind during the day and then lively restaurants, shops and bars just a 5-minute walk away for evening entertainment! You can look out over the Caribbean Sea as you dine in the Garden Terrace restaurant and, on Sundays, people come from all over the island to enjoy the wonderfully lazy Sunday buffet lunch — accompanied by live music.

We had a great holiday at the Southern Palms Hotel. Very close to the beach and excellent location from the airport, with lots of little restaurants and shops nearby. As a couple, we were both vegetarian and the hotel made us a very special meal and given that personal touch to ensure that we were fed. All the staff are very friendly and always smiling. The rooms were big and kept very clean at all times. Afternoon tea by the pool was a special touch and seems to be loved by all with tea/coffee and freshly made cakes. Many thanks for making our holiday that little more special. Read less

I would recomm nd their evening menu. They have priced it compete with local restaurants. Excellent food and great service. Lots of options for an evening out. If you want something a bit special turn left from the Hotel and walk to the Gap. Loads of choice and good Bars. If you want something more local and cheaper turn right. Try Daddy’s or the Jamaican restaurant opposite. Both good. The Bar directly opposite the Hotel is also good lovely steaks Wouldn’t t hesitate to recommend. Lovely people love Y Hotel Read less

Rooms are very clean and have everything you could need - hairdryer, shampoo, body wash, colour tv, docking station to play your own music, fridge, iron and ironing board and kettle. Plenty of lovely white towels and pink beach towels, which you can change as often as you wish. There is also a range of beach goods - inflatables, boogie boards -all available free to guests. Tennis and windsurfing lessons available free. Mini golf with regular “tournaments”. Plenty of sun beds around each pool and also on the beach. Free lemon drinking water was a nice touch available by the pool every day (plastic glasses so you can also take them on to the beach). Entertainment several times a week and a great standard. Managers rum punch party with free rum punch (be careful it’s like rocket fuel). High tea by the pool every day with tea/coffee and a selection of muffins. Food in the restaurant/bar was very good quality. We were made to feel really welcome at all times, which was lovely. We even saw a turtle nest hatch on the beach which was amazing. Read less
