We had a nice room with a view of the beach and the balcony got the afternoon sun. The food was a bit hit and miss but generally ok. My only grouse was that the hotel booklet clearly states "No Shorts " in the restaurant in the evening. but half the men turned up in shorts and were unchallenged. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I think the main attraction was the beach which did not have rows and rows of sunbeds but just occasional ones located beneath the palm trees We would certainly return Read less

We had a lovely large sea facing room, with two double beds, iron, ironing board, fridge plus a complimentary bottle of rum on arrival! The best feature for us, was the beach. It's wider than many on the west coast and very quiet with no shortage of sun loungers, due to the fact the loungers aren't for hire to non- guests. We were lucky enough to see turtles too! The location is perfect for the neighbouring restaurants, bars and buses. Every guest we spoke to had returned to the hotel numerous times - and we completely understand why! The staff are lovely and bar prices reasonable, especially during happy hour. It's also worth attending the managers rum punch evening as the guests and staff are sooo friendly and welcoming. A few recommendations... Island tour, Friday fish fry party at At Oistins, Brunch at Sandy Lane and the Cat and the Fiddle catermaran - we'll definitely book it again! We can't wait to return, so thank you and we'll done to all the staff at the Southern Palms! x Read less

We stayed at Southern Palms Beach Club for a week after Christmas, me, my husband, and our teenage twins. Everything was perfect, we had such a relaxing time, the beach was lovely and clean, with enough sunbeds for everyone, the sea was quite rough, which the teens really enjoyed but it wouldn't be suitable for little ones (I don't know if it is calmer other times of the year) we didn't use the pool but it looked very clean and well kept, we were on a room only package, we ate in the hotel restaurant our first night, the food was very good indeed, the next morning we went for the buffet breakfast in the Hotel, there was a lot of choice but it was nothing special, and we found it to be over priced for what you got, so we had breakfast across the road after that. Our room was overlooking the pool and sea, it was on two levels, with our bedroom and the bathroom on the top floor, downstairs was a kitchenette, dining table and chairs, settee and tv, one of the twins slept on the settee bed and we had an extra bed put in for the other one, even with the settee bed down and the extra bed there was still plenty of room. The room wasn't spotless but clean enough and as we only slept there it didn't really matter. I almost forgot to mention the Turtles, they are so lovely to see, everyday they were there swimming with us in the sea. Read less

The hotel is right on the beach and has two (fairly small but great) swimming pools. We stayed half board and the food was really good. What really makes this place though is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, nothing was too much trouble and the children where made a fuss of. Special mentions to the ever helpful Edrich, Marcelle who made sure our room was spotless, Zac in the watersports hut and Jenni on reception. The waiting and bar staff were all great, too many to mention! Read less

We had the best fish quesadillas we've had anywhere else even outside of Barbados. We also had a great salad as an appy. The service and friendliness are outstanding. Our first night we had drinks there and the server gave us lots of incredible tips on bus service, and the location of Massy for grocery shopping. She also gave us the schedule for the brass band, and another band so we returned for the entertainment. Note, the hotel was gracious to allow us to use their hotel pool in exchange for ordering a drink. And the view is spectacular as the pool and lounging area, and restaurant are right on the beach. Sunsets are awesome. Read less
