I have just recently returned from a 9 night stay at this hotel The check in was fine and I paid the Barbados tax fee. Then everything went downhill. I got to my room (408) which was okay-ish. I unpacked and went to put my valuables in the room safe. It did not work. I contacted reception who sent a housekeeper to my room who pretty much accused me of breaking the safe. It then took a couple of days for this to be rectified, all the while I am carrying a substantial amount of cash on my person. Did not feel comfortable. In the evening I went to the restaurant for dinner. It was a buffet style meal and I proceeded to help myself. I was asked if I was part of the large group, which I wasn't and the waitress retorted that I had to pay. I understood this as I was on a B&B rate. I had not even started my meal and the same waitress literally pounced on me with my bill, like a leopard to it's prey. I only ate in the restaurant once due to this experience, although I did have a burger in the tiny bar area one night. I ate elsewhere every other night. Breakfast was also a buffet style, but through the whole of my stay, bacon was only available twice. The buffet was not consistent and different things were offered each day, sometimes a good choice, sometimes not. Please note that I am not vegetarian. The toaster was the slowest I have ever encountered. At least the coffee was hot, although it was instant coffee. The bar is tiny and never seems to have enough change if you are paying by cash. Just be aware that you can get beer at the little convenience store down the road for half the price!! My room- wifi is very hit and miss. If you want a hot shower beware, it is hot, cold, hot, cold, hot, cold, hot.....you get my drift. A maintenance man worked outside my room when I was trying to rest. I understand this has to be done, but please inform the guest first. The TV does not have many channels and some don't have any sound. The air con was fine though. The rooms need to be treated with insect repellent. My legs look like they have been peppered with a shotgun. The bites only happened in the bedroom. The staff all look like they do not want to be there. Some were okay like the receptionists but others were clearly unhappy. And one lady was working the whole time I was there, surely that is not legal. At check out I was then met with a resort fee. This was not stated on my booking. The whole experience was negative, at one point looking for earlier flights home, and I could not wait to leave. My only good points was meeting a BBC journalist and leaving the hotel. There was not even a goodbye. I work in hospitality in the UK and quite frankly was disgusted at this hotel. My advice to future guests, is to not stay here but go down the road to the Butterfly where the hotel is cleaner and the staff are more professional. Read less

I have never in my life been to a hotel like this. Absolutely no atmosphere no music, bar closes at 20.45. Staff are so rude. It was without a doubt my worst experience in a hotel and at 65 I have 2/3 holidays a year. The breakfast was the only positive part. Pool were dirty.

It is a slightly dated hotel but reflected with good prices. Lovely garden/pool setting. Bonus to get a substantial, pretty good, breakfast. Coffee very poor. Bar hours are very short but plenty of alternatives near by. Four stars deserved because of good prices charged, otherwise would be three.

We stayed here in December for a couple weeks. The kids loved the shallow pool and beach access was close by. Would have been nice to have some beach loungers on the beach. It was still a fantastic experience overall, and we look forward to returning in the future.
