Stayed here in early May, as a couple with a six month old baby. Low season had just started so the hotel was quite quiet. This was fine for us, as we were just looking to unwind. Staff members were all kind and friendly. Only slight negative was the room was a bit dated. All in all, a nice place to stay. Good location.

The breakfast is wonderful, Ether the cook is great and will tell you all the tricks to make her dishes when you get home. All the staff go out of the way to welcome you and do remember your name especially when you are a returning guest. And don't miss out on the late afternoon ice lollies, really welcome after a hot day in the sun. Read less

Having reviewed this hotel on several occasions, i have very little to add. The hotel was good enough to allocate us the same room we have occupied on all our previous visits which was much appreciated, thank you Adrian. There are still a number of staff members who have been part of the team for a long time so it was good to see all of them again and they have high standards. I have read some negative feedback in a number of reviews, I did see evidence of some under-par service however the longstanding staff members continued to look after us extremely well - thanks to Arden, Mark, Mark C, Deon, Anthony and Ether. Despite our love of the place, I have to agree with some comments in regards to being slightly expensive for some things. The soft drinks and local draft beer prices could do with being reviewed, they were overly expensive for not a lot. Perhaps an extension to the happy hours would encourage more guests to mingle ? I did not see too many people using the bar area very often - the hotel was extremely quiet at times however I got the feeling that many were not prepared to sit there for long because of the pricing, I overheard a number of comments relating to the prices..Hopefully these comments will be considered as constructive. We love this place, we will be back - next door at The House, the company appears to have invested heavily in refurbishing and upgrading the property and it shows, perhaps they could do the same for the Tamarind, it deserves it.
