The Tamarind is a fabulous hotel, we have stayed here 4 times and each time we came away as happy as the time before. All being well, we will return again. The staff are so friendly and have largely remained the same over the last 6 years. Ether gets the day off to a great start, offering fabulous fresh omelettes and eggs (she deserves a special mention!) Paul, a manager is also a fabulous guy, along with all of the restaurant managers. It is located right on the beach and you can do all sorts of complimentary water sports. The hotel is situated about 30 mins from Bridgetown on a bus (right outside the hotel). Taxis can take you to many fabulous restaurants - The Cliff, Tides, Lonestar being within 15 mins drive. Daphnes is right next door to the hotel. The hotel rooms are always very clean and very well serviced during the stay. They are not the most modern rooms, so it's very different to a stay in Dubai, but the climate, people, atmosphere and local food make Barbados the place for us! I would recommend this hotel highly. Oh and we used the kids club this year, which was also great. Very flexible and friendly. Read less

Great location as a starting point to see the west and north side of the island. You begin your day with a delicious breakfast provided as part of your hotel package. Hopefully Ether is preparing the omelettes and poached eggs. Then you can spend as much time as you want seeing the many sights that are within a short commute. When you finish your activities you can come back and lounge by the pool or enjoy the beautiful beach. We snorkeled daily from the beach and saw a wide variety of fish. The picturesque sunsets are a wonderful way to finish your day. Room layout seems very conducive to privacy. Marina kept our room spotless. Be advised during the evening turn down service the will bring beach towels and water bottles. The managers cocktail party was a nice touch. Looking forward to staying there again. Read less

Outstanding time! Each and every staff person with whom we dealt was friendly and most efficient. Facilities included 3 pools, beachfront, free water sports, 3 restaurants, fitness room, etc. Exceptionally clean in all areas and most convenient to local transportation.

A truly lovely hotel with easy access to the beach and water sports. The resort has fascinating corals and an opportunity, at Payne's bay beach, to swim with the sea turtles. Great fun and a relaxed and laid back atmosphere
