The view from the beach is gorgeous, the standard west coast Bajan combination of beautiful blue sea and sky. Staff are delightful, nothing is too much trouble here. Yes some of the hotel is a little "tired" but it is so tricky meeting European standards of excellence outside of the EU. And in an unhelpfully abrasive climate. Breakfast was a banquet, everything on offer and more, including the famous Ether on the eggs "anyway you want" counter. Lunch was good too, great salads and again the staff make this place. Would be happy to return. Read less

This is the first bad review I have ever needed to write. Arrived before 10am after a cruise to enjoy a final day in the Caribbean before our flight home the following day and told that our room was ‘not quite ready - leave your luggage and take a seat’. We did and sat there for an hour or so to be told ‘sorry bad news the room won’t be ready until later as there are people still in it but we will find you another room to use until it is ready’. Ok we waited and waited eventually enquiring when it might be ready. ‘Sorry we haven’t got a room but we will find you a room to get changed in’. Waited and waited, enquired again and told no room but you can get changed in the toilets’. We waited and were eventually given a room to change in - in and out in 10 mins. Went to sit by the pool with our hand luggage etc.........long story shortish ....after many ready soon conversations we got our room a few minutes before 3pm. I know 3pm is the check in time but we had been led to believe they knew we would be arriving early and a room would be available for us. We are pretty relaxed and had we been been told at the outset it would be 3pm we would have been disappointed but sorted our day out rather than hanging around waiting all day. Shown to our Junior Suite room 207 - not impressed - right next to the breakfast room and bar with associated noise plus horrible cooking fumes from the kitchen extractors. Using the balcony was not a good experience. Asked for another room and shown two others, room 306 which according to another review had no running water and another (not yet cleaned and made up) on the other side of the hotel that would have better but told they couldn’t tell me when it would be ready. It was now after4pm so I asked would it be 5, 6, 7, 8, 9pm? ‘Oh not 8 or 9 was the reply. I gave up at this point as we had already wasted a complete day and couldn’t face any longer of being fobbed of with promises and non delivery. We kept the room, hated the balcony and associated smells and noise and wish we hadn’t wasted our time and quite a lot of money at the Tamarind. Read less

Immediately outside our door, the ceiling/roof had broken down and rain poured through. A continual blanket of towels graced the floor with warning signs saying "slippery when wet". The heavy quartz countertop had broken away and teetered on one leg. We waited four days to be moved and were put into room 306 that had no running water!!! We were told that we could shower two floors down in room 106. Four wasted days in a tired hotel that was in need of much repair. Read less

Had lunch here most days and would recommend the club sandwich and had dinner here for the first time and it was lovely. Can't say enough good things about this hotel and the fact that they've got new sun loungers for the beach makes it even better.Breakfast is plentiful from fresh fruit to eggs done anyway you want by the always cheerful Ether. But once again the best thing about this hotel is it's wonderful staff, who look after you so well. Can't wait to see all again next year and Arden and Joseph thanks so much for looking after us this year.{room 105} Read less
