Moved here on the 3rd day of our trip to the island....details below: Welcome, very friendly and informative. Felt like home straight away. Rooms, very nice. We had great pool and ocean views. Rooms were equipped with everything needed. Bathrooms a little dated. Food, very good with a different menu every night. We particularly liked the all day menu that you can take at the bar, the terrace or at the pool. Meant you weren't stuck to set times and this gave you the freedom to eat whenever you wanted. The dine around program is a great idea, having said for we tried several times to book the fusion resto at Waves on numerous occasions but to no avail...each time with a different commentary on why we couldn't go....strange! Booze was good, JW Black, Bombay sapphire, tanqueray etc...you just have to ask for it. Team, friendly in the main. Joseph was our fave but largely the entire team were spot on. Pools, lovely, warm and well maintained. Loved the fact that the towels were super plentiful. It's almost like they grow on trees at the tamarind. No messing about, ditch your old/wet towel and pick up a new one poolside. Location great. Although as with CC there is a very busy road outside the hotel. This means it can be noisy at times and you can definitely taste the diesel in the air some days. All in all a good hotel, with a proper running structure in place as opposed to the frantic/stressful feel of CC Oh nearly forgot Etha the egg lady...calm that woman down!! Great energy to start the day. She knows how to cook an egg too!! Would return Read less

Had a wonderful 10 day holiday at Tamarind. The hotel is very good with great facilities (3 pools), watersports, kids games rooms and a lovely beach. The staff are generally really helpful and friendly and the kids club service is excellent. The staff there are all exceptional. I would say that the facilities need a little TLC - would be equivalent to 3* accommodation in Europe. The location is so good though it more than makes up for some tired decor. The breakfast is great. Best omelettes in Barbados! The guys that run the watersports could lighten up a little. They wouldn’t allow U6’s on the Hobies or on any of the banana boat or Ringos. Given that I am an ex world champion sailor and took the older 1 on a Hobie no problem when he was 3 in Cyprus that was a shame. They also wouldn’t bring the trampoline in to shore so that it could be used which given it was 1 of the main selling points on the website was disappointing. There was a rough sea later in the week but shouldn’t have been a problem the first week we were there. Just 5minutes from Holetown and the fantastic restaurants (Tides, the mews, beach house and shops). Also very close to the Cliff restaurants - so cant be beaten for location. Overall it really was a great stay in a fantastic hotel. Great for the kids. Would love to get back regularly! Read less

Hotel staff are brilliant and so attentive. Entertainment great and rooms good. Food of a high standard. However this hotel is not for couples because of the layout. Yes there is a quiet pool with only 6 double loungers around a tiny splash pool also another small pool with minimal loungers and a tiny beach. The lovely main pool in front of the bar is the children’s pool! quiet confusing as the signs say no bottles or glasses are allowed around the pool. Yet there are families with small children, buggies and pool toys scattered in this area, as well as these families using many of the bed loungers. There is then very little space for residents to use loungers close to the bar and lunch areas. Our first few days have been idillic with well behaved children but now it’s unbelievable. The parents of a select group think it’s acceptable to bomb into the pool, walk around drinking out of beer bottles and being most inconsiderate to other residents. This is a 4 star hotel ( just being taken over by the Marriott group who will certainly makes changes ) marketed as a couples hotel with areas for families. That said the layout of the whole hotel is a contradiction. It’s a great family hotel! Couples beware. My first and my last visit. Read less
